ARTZ, finish what you started. Once you sell and the new commitment comes along you wont be seeing any play money again for a while... 1K is a couple of weeks overtime, suck it up and keep at it!
-
lol pretty sure thats native in a G3, but lets not knock the man down - i like the guy
-
Totally agree, the weirdest and worst combinations in theory can often be used well in practice on the right motor.
-
I thought you did away with CBB tech? Many of the good/reliable turbos out run journals anyway, so I dont understand the need for change. Keep your cost low and reliability high
-
thats the wheel sizes, physical housing sizes lol.... the t67 has a tiny little exhaust housing and a giant compressor housing. do the maths.........
-
outer diameters as follows: T67 - 78mm compressor, 61mm turbine 35R - 82mm compressor, 68mm turbine 35R is larger overall.

I cant give away Stao's secret recipes as my own but I have discussed many options with him and built a firm understanding of a few of his products. This is one of the reasons I tend to recommend his products more often nowadays, with understanding came appreciation. He tries many of the concepts I think of myself, good entrepreneurship. The 35R/T04R is the combo of a high speed high flow turbine with a low speed high flow compressor. The 35 rear should spin up fairly quick and drive the compressor to deliver a fair amount earlier than expected. Normally the downside to that is that you will max out the rear side, but a GT35 turbine is not exactly small, and neither is a 1.00 T4 TS rear housing. Stao uses a similar hypothesis for his G3, a big low speed compressor mated to a turbine that would get high shaft speed for the compressors given equivalent. He combats maxing out compressor too early by having a fat exhaust housing and the use of a high flow turbine. Its all balance, remember that the turbine and compressor are mated to the same shaft. So consider the flow input to the turbine governs the shaft speed and the shaft speed governs the compressor output flow. A gap in technologies allows for easy highlows. A good example of this is the $200 highflow thread in the FI section sticky, the guy put a T04 compressor on a 2IU and tinkered with it until it was stable. It would more or less max out a 500hp compressor too early and make a stout 250kw out of the stock 2IU turbine wheel and housing. This is because the tiny 2IU turbine spooled up the T04 compressor too early and it would max out quick. The theory above is that you apply fast spinning technology to the turbine and slow spinning technology to the compressor for a similar effect, but because your using a fat turbine you dont max out as easy. All good in theory but maybe hard to perfect, Im sure all that trial and error Stao does is not for nothing.

Why dont you ask Stao to rework your 3576? Im guessing its a highflowed 2IU..... Ask him to fit the CHRA into G3 housings, that will probably turn it into a phsyco performer and it will MOSTLY bolt back on (bar the front housing). One other turbo I would love to see on an RB30 is an actual G3 from HG.. I think that would go pretty well. Its probably similar in construction to Kando's 35R T04R concoction, but will bolt back in to your mostly stock outfit. Yet honestly, if its a fully built cammy RB30, put a nice turbo on it (with the gate/manifold to match)
-
I think rotors want the big rear housing or big turbo.. These are more small housings aimed at 4 banger type setups (and being exploited by us 6 pot guys). You could run one but I think you will be capped, you should probably look at a PT6262 or something like that. Otherwise the twinscroll 3582 variant Kando does may suit you its towards the top of page 90

Oh god how did I miss this post.... LOL

R32 Gtr Rims For Sale
GTScotT replied to TKR32GTR's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Interested in a straight swap for a set of Lenso Type M 18s? black with the red lip, they still have good kunho tyres. -
It all comes down to your goals mate. Be it myself I would probably go a T67. IMHO It will go like a shower of shit. Probably hit peak torque very early and wont need to rev it very hard, however without E85 I dont see it doing over 350kw (as a sheer maximum, it may not actually hit that either). My second option would be the TD06H-82 hybrid (3582 compressor on TD06H rear). My guess is that this combo will be something like a 'GT3282' or 'GT3240'. My guess would have it more responsive than an actual 35R with a similar power threshold. I would love to see this one in action.

agreed i forgot to take notice that you have a TD05, you may need to retain the custom dump unless your TD05 has the standard sort of dump pipe pattern. please take a photo of your turbo and plumbing on that side and post.
-
you can buy a JJR bellmouth dump pipe for $180 which will fix your screamer problem, id rather do that than plumb in the screamer... the bellmouth works best on a stock sort of setup reconnect the stock bov as its just capped off. buy the stock hoses and pipes from a wrecker. stock bov good to over 20psi no worries (1.5 bar)

What Noise Does Back Pressure Make?
GTScotT replied to getyayayaout's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
backpressure = silent killer kidding. it doesnt make any noise.. id say ask a mechanic as its extremely hard to e-diagnose a noise in these cases. as already noted, it could be denotation/exhaust leak/rattling bolts/machine gun hiding under the car. -
Please see the Kando Dynamic thread in this section, lately they have been building 35R based turbos for a great price. You will pick up the Kando for about $800 delivered and will be a complete turbo.

im on wot for weeks at a time, lets let that one go shall we... hes the stig, leave it be
-
LOL @ true blue rip off artist, flamin mongrel!! or was that the forum correcting a c u next tuesday comment? LOL Where did u buy the adaptronic man? disappointing to hear it came with blemishes :S I assume you bought it new....
-
The standard hypergear highflow is $960 from memory, it should do up to 240kw It will be the closest thing to a bolt on and 99%% undetectable (close as ull get)
-
Now that one is interesting... That could be a good 350kw turbo (not sure if it would be better than a T67 though..) Kando has some good stuff rolling out :S

Ummmmm hello..... http://www.ebay.com....=item416003baff Also, wow: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-Adjustable-Turbo-Wastegate-Actuator-Mitsubishi-EVO-X-10-3-spring-/270878868726?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f11a384f6

That looks epic, I would totally want one of those. GCG do a 3566R which is pretty much the same thing, they do it for XR6Ts. I rekon that would be a cool turbo, worth a shot. Price is phenomenal too. Shouldnt be an issue. AFAIK Minor edge taken off the spool is the only ownside, might not buck as hard onto boost.

theres nothing wrong with a "three bolt flange" in general, but these particular internal gate turbos that have a 3 bolt flange only have a little 2.25" outlet (from memory) and the rest of the flowpath is blocked off. Understand what I mean now? Im simply identifying the cruddy IW housings as a 3 bolt

I wouldnt weld up and add the EWG tho, buy the proper V band rear housing, they now come in both 8cm and 10cm. Other than the outlay of a second housing, a mild remake of the dump and a second tune I dont see any issue with giving the IG a shot first. When I was originally interested in these I had a 6 and specifically asked Kando to make a 10cm T3 IWG housing, I still have the email thanking me for my feedback and confirming he will aim to bring that out ASAP. And now we have it.... But I dont have a 6, so moral is I was willing to do it twice and I still would be. I like IWG if they work and the constraints are limited. HOWEVER Eiji was also MORE THAN HAPPY to lop the rear of the housing off for me so that the rear of it is totally exposed and it becomes a standard 5 bolt design (like a garrett IWG). If somebody really wants to try this, the thing to do is email a request for a: TD06SL2-20g T3 10cm Internal wastegate with rear housing opened for use with 5 bolt or individual dump pipe, not single 3 bolt outlet and covered wastegate. wastegate to be uncovered. Eiji CAN do this and it will resolve the little blocked WG issue we are worried about. But it doesnt mean the housing will be as good as his EWG item... But its worth a shot.

Whos we champ? I love the word we on forums, sounds good. Seriously, if you have some feedback regarding these please divulge. Im sure everyone here would love to see proof that those housings are a good performer, it will save people PACKETS. I for one dont believe in that housing, for basic principal, HOWEVER have seen plenty of genuine trust kits floating around with that housing on them. Please share what you (we) know.
