On a 2.5L 6cyl you can expect 1HP per 1CC of injector flow at the motor. So 550cc injectors can probably MAX out at 550hp at the crank (in a perfect example). Usually you will have some form of limiting factor, thus I wouldnt bet my bottom dollar they will do 550hp yet you can probably counnt on it they will do close to 500. Now all you need to know is the stock NEO injector size, GL.

The problem is that audible ping isnt always what kills the motor, its inaudible ping thats happening when you least realise it.. My concerns are if the fuel pressure would drop enough to actually make it lean out and detonate... Or if the tune is just on the edge as is.... My recommendations are that you do a comp test (and leakdown if you want) to gauge if the motor is in as good health as it was prior, then run the car up on another dyno and have the opperator monitor knock and the AFR's. If all is good then dont worry and press on.

I recently had a similar problem with a Z32 that was meant to work.. I have a strange suspicion the body earth for that one is sensitive and may give a crazy effect... Mine was idling at 3.7v, yet i suspect the AFM will work fine when put into a known working case (will test tomorrow).

Zeeb you mean the OD of the hose. The issue is a 5/8 ID will be fine, but buying a 5/8 braided hose might have a smaller ID. 5/8 is 16mm, so if the flowpath (ID) of the hose is 16mm wide then youll be right.

work on enough cars and you will end up with a shed full of nuts and bolts, are you sure you dont have something about that can fit? the earliest i will be able to check the size will be the weekend, but if you really cant find it by then just PM me what one it is and I will get a sample out for you

Adaptronic will come with launch control and flex fuel capability type stuff, its good value for the money. I also know a couple of my old streeter mates who are tuning these themselves on road with a wideband and kmon. Price is good too. Have done an EMS stinger and cant say I was impressed. Scrub that off your list IMHO.

Swap: Mitsubishi Sigma 2.6 Turbo
GTScotT replied to GTScotT's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Think outside the box guys: A flick of paint away from being a very cool/quick/straight old school car An LSD and some bags away from being a formidable drag car A 5 speed away from being a really cool/unique drift car The turbo comes on lightning quick in this thing and barely needs to rev to make big boost. Also have a set of very speshhhiieeewll pistons for the right offer (cash offers will be considered). Have an offset gudgin and teflon coated in the right places (will totally bring this motor into its own). Wait........ GO! -
R32 Gtr Rear Cradle Complete
GTScotT replied to fatz's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Can you supply it with the handbrake cable making it suitable for an S chassis swap? -
LOL believe it or not I think it is an idea I have toyed with myself. Mine involved a little adapter plate and some die grinding I gave it up once I thought about intake plumbing.. that side of it sucked. Hey Stao any idea what he -5 CHRA matches with? On paper it looks like a GT2860RS spec CHRA from memory....

Pretty sure it makes low level sense to everyone. Problem is, IMHO, they should have always known about the issue long before the products hit the market. -
You will have to confirm with Jez but I am pretty sure it was up there. It was happy at 17 and pinged at 21, so its somewhere inbetween there. The turbo was really cruising along, I doubt the charge temp is up there at all (14psi bleeds down to the 12s)
-
Sounds like if you take it to Stao he can determine the best method of repair before you fork out on a new turbo. And if you are talking replacing it with a GTR turbo on a GTST then you might run into some trouble lol. 1 GTR turbo will be an outright mission to fit and give you sweet f**k all power.
-
It looks like BW have done very little real R&D on the turbos to be honest. Looking like the stuff was dreamed out on paper and sent to their mfg supplier for immediate production. Beta's hit clients cars before they were tested properly, something I feel FR may have been entrusted with by BW... Afterall there is a big relationship between BW and FR in all the original paraphernalia for the units. Stao you should really try get your hands on some lightweight turbing wheels. It would be very interesting. FYI there is an MHI MR turbo that has a very weak front wheel, it is a lightwheight model and a very high failure rate.

No wonder AMD and NVIDIA rock! They come from the motherland just like the Kando! What comes before Mtsubishi? MHI or IHI? If they can build ships I would assume they can poor some steel lol. Sounds kind of juvenile when you think about it really..... Instead of what you expect from R&D its hey what about this Ti Al compound? OH YEAH PLACE AN ORDER! I wonder how many times they altered the chemical compound of the wheel to net the best results (heat resistance/tensile strength). One would assume had they gone to that extent they may have known the wheels would shit themselves, unless they literally put their ideas to paper and orders 'speced' parts to suit. Sounds to be the case when you think about it long and hard enough.. Maybe this useless argument has some good founded purpose after all, BW need to manufacture their shit themselves. -

I think your way off champ. All I said was it is a reasonable assumption from an end user and made reference to an unfair comparison. Cant go acting high and mighty all the time like we would dream of. And furthermore, I consider a turbine wheel to be an integral component to the turbo itself. Much like the body of a car, not the cars bolt on equipment. All I'm saying is as much as it is not the case, it is a reasonable assumption and not something to have a go about. If you need to further clarify that you can re read all of the said posts and then we can stop wasting space talking about it, otherwise I'm more than happy to continually repeat logical discussion. -
Definitely the manifold Blake. Never seen a problem with high mounts and the crossover pipe.
-
I got genuine Nismo's off ebay very cheap. Have a look around. 740cc minimum, you WILL want more.
-
All the same lets not get into it, reported failures are low/rare enough not to be of concern. Party on.

Hi, I think I recognise you from Evo OZ.. Can you please provide us with some specs/photos/dyno sheets? We would all love to see such a stellar result. -

Ofcoarse its cheaper or they would make it themselves. We are talking about the opinion of an end user here, imagine telling someone your HKS turbo is actually a garrett unit which has parts outsourced from a little known engineering company in Cuba. How many people do you think will go for it? I still have people tell me that Garretts are only 'HKS Spec' and not the same thing. Im just saying, lets not get clever because we know something the other person didnt. I really wouldnt say a turbine wheel not being made by the manufacturer is the same as a manifold manufacturer not making their own pipe. Kind of like saying 'how can u expect Steggles chicken to distribute their own produce' vs. 'do you really think KFC breed their own chickens'. Completely different. -
A full 60-1 is a T04S, nothing special... However I dont know why Kando trys to sell so many of them or in what application they would work well. Interesting I guess... Im sure there are still old tech Garretts that whoop ass and take names.
-
Whats the go with those 60-1 units? I have NFI what they are for/about?

I disagree, I think it is a very reasonable assumption that the turbo manufacturer would make the wheels. How else would they keep strict control of their QA requirements? Oh wait....
