  1. Stao seeing as you have access to original garrett parts, have you considered using an OEM 2871 52t CHRA and making a mock GTRS for customers to buy? You clearly have the ability to turn .64 T28 housings into T3 skyline specific housings and your .60 compressor looks very similar to the T04B found on garrets, maybe you could port shroud this and make one up? Could become a hot seller.... Save lots of cash on buying HKS, who would say no? NS111 turbine, .64ar turbine housing, GT35 71mm 52 trim compressor, .60ar compressor cover.
  2. If you ever want to go for a natio run in a 'jelly boat' let me know. Bring spare undies. Has a whiteline kit and stock supra bilsteins and boy oh boy does it handle like a champ for the fat prick it is. Even on tyres that have sat in a shed for the last 5 years..... Awesome. Also, I forget which episode it is, but there is a best motoring video where JGTC GT500 drivers comment that a weight striped Soarer drives like a REAL JGTC car. Go figure..
  3. Nothing wrong with the GTR, it belongs to a member on this forum. 32 GTR had hks hard pipe kit, 100mil jap cooler, dump back HKS system, fuel pump, mines ecu, and from memory 268atw. My E4 had an axle back exhaust and pushed 188atw with a failing fuel pump. As stated in this state it was 0-100 in under 5s and 0-200 in 13s. The evo would match the GTR at 70kph in 1st gear, then top out 2nd just over 90 when the GTR would catch it as the GTR would hang onto 2nd until close to 120. By that time I was running out of torque in high end 3rd gear and the GTR would walk away from 140+. GTR stock weight is like 1550? My E4 hit the weighbridge at 1300. Evo 9s are 1450, having driven one with an Evo green at a failing 240kw, I can say it is significantly faster than the said GTR even in its current spec of over 300atw using HKS 2510s. Owner has driven the E9 and confirmed the same. That E9 also had no spool problems and would easily overpower what I had prior (all with the capability of 300atw on E85 from the green turbo - td06sl2 20g).
  4. Your local, maybe we should hang out and I'll tell you more about my experiences with all platforms (have experienced them all). Will help your fence sitters syndrome I wont get into a pissing contest about evos either, as I no longer own one. However a 270kw R32 GTR would only pull on me in 3rd when my E4 was stock. Thems the breaks.
  5. Our scene dominated in the 90s. Things have died off since then. The killer is government restrictions on 'greener motors' and safety requirements. To keep up with the euro standards the motors become a lot less brutal and have a lot more crap holding them back. More of a pain to work with all round IMHO. The weight on the cars continues to rise with addition of new features and changed motor body standards. It turns out crumple zones and 'crash test happy' designes dont necessarily make for an all out track weapon like the old tube frame chassis does lol. These are getting better and better. 300rwkw is literally an exhaust and a flash tune away. The FG model is the one to get (the standard model has a better motor than an older model F6) and I believe the snapping driveshafts metter has also been put to bed. I think the amount of effort involved in building a 250rwkw R33 would be resultant in a 400rwkw XR6T that would probably still have better response and powerband than the skyline. 4L of turbo 6 and were back to the topic of a whole lot of volumetric efficiency lol. GL
  6. Unfortuntely not.... Have owned and driven both, I can say its not happening haha. My Evo 4 when stock was 0-100 in under 5s and 0-200 in 13s. It had 188awkw. When at 230ish it was scarily fast... I think one of the fastest cars I've driven in an all round sort of way.
  7. This. Last night I thought about the combination of my said LS1 and my said R154 in the S14... I then realised its a 1200ish kg car and a stock LS1 will be pretty average, while a good LS1 will be way too much. I then pondered further and realised power is one thing, but delivery is KING. The poor little SR still has a place in that car, I will push it to 240ish rwkw and have something that has power everywhere you need it, no power where you dont want it, and about as much power as I could realistically put to the ground (in more senses than traction, very much application specific). As cool as it would be, I'm with Disco in saying, no thank you. I think the two comments are sepparate from eachother. Building an EG civic to dominate a track with a B series motor costs next to nothing. Have been there, have done that, it was faster than my modified R32 in a straight line and obliterated it around a track.
  8. Depends how well its setup.
  9. Dont tempt me for the new car.. I have access to an LS1 and an R154.
  10. 2 out of 2 cars ive run one in had cooling problems. Tested back to back to stock nissan rads which had no problems. They are a cheap replacement if wreckers want a mint, and they do what they are meant to do.. But they do not do as good a job as stock and definitely not of a quality performance item. If I have left you confused, they are good enough for a camry that doesnt get driven hard. Not good enough for a performance car that gets its ass kicked.
  11. Disco makes some good points. One thing to note, forced induction is essentially cubes. From my reading, aviation engineers made note that doubling the atmospheric pressure doubled the relevant volumetric efficiency as far as the size of the motor went. IE, running a bar of boost in a 1bar atmospheric pressure environmet meant the motor had the VE of something twice its size. So, run 2 bar of boost into your RB and have more VE than your said 6L V8. Its been said already, our bogan blood (not mine) just cant see past the push rod.
  12. I dont know if your being sarcastic or not but I dont see a problem in comparing a video of a car driving to another one... I mean Ive based turbo selection on best motoring videos and other peoples in car drag videos etc... Ive also videod cars 0-200kph to prove to long distance friends its performance. Provided its videos on level ground and with live sound etc I dont see the problem.
  13. Might have a cracked head, its definitely a hard one to diagnose.. Theres also a coolant opperated oil coover on some nissans, not sure if your model has got one.. Anything that mixes coolant and oil could be the problem really...
  14. If thats that R32, I was hoping you would post that up lol. Have been meaning to show a few people.
  15. Bunch of pushrod bashers lol. Lith, when I have my heavy prick of an S14 in a few weeks I'll make some plans to go run you that 12 flat To be honnest, the 12 flat S13 I am basing my comment on was actually a factory standard CA18 long motor with regular bolt on bits which was actually last dynod 186rwkw. No I dont have the time slip, no I dont expect you to surrender and agree. You know me well enough to know I dont make things up, so be it. Yes V8s are fast, no they are not the ants pants.
  16. Does anyone here realise a 200kw S13 with slicks will quite easily run a 12 flat? Anyone else realise Simon ran 11 flat with his ebay special setup? (no discredit at all to my fav car of SAU) 1700kg Soarer with factory twins and stall converter running low 11s? Just coz the average Joe with a skyline cant drive it, doesnt mean V8s rule the land. A big over powered motor in a big heavy car, its not hard to put the power down and wind out some gears. Learn how to drive you pussies.
  17. The SS2 is more expensive, but the dyno does say it is 'better'. The G3 seems to have plenty of 300ish kw results, its more of a 3076 contender while the SS2 is something special but not guaranteed to 'piss it in' at that power level... Just need to see a couple more examples to be sure. MPH would also help tell the tale.
  18. Im not sure what feeds what and so on, but with a wiring diagram you could work it out quick smart. Basically you just need to trace the tacho wire back, from the dash to the next component. If the next component in series to the wire is the ecu, check continuity between the plug on the tacho side and the ecu side. Surely its just a broken connection. Find what the tach wire leads back to and check if the wire is working. Find where its busted and repair it, or add a new wire.
  19. I hear there is a new death technology that targets street racers on internet forums.. Its out there.. Monitoring your every post....
  20. Is it a GReddy or a FReddy? If its a copy you might need to machine the flange surface... It wouldnt be the first time one showed up bowed.
  21. Yep follow above link and just call him. Theres a lead time as hes getting married but he will make you what you want.
  22. I think the limit of a totally streetable R33 GTST is actually quite cheaply had these days.... By saying so, I dont think 300rwkw is as street friendly as it could be. My personal preference which would slaughter a basic LS1 common: 3" TBE Cheap FMIC Fuel pump metal intake Z32 hiflowed injectors hypergear highflow OR SS-1 turbo 250rwkw aim (go for the SS-2 if you must have 300kw of lose to nearly nothing power) Toshi remap or Nistune shimmed diff, decent rear suspension setup
  23. DEPOSIT TAKEN! Going to a good home, am happy for that. Thanks to all interested and sorry I couldnt help get everyones cars back on the road for such a good price First in best dressed I'm afraid.
  24. LOL good read, very common. Get that car tuned properly with the new turbo as the stock ecu may just blow your motor.
  25. lol thanks mate, Everyones waiting on that infamous tax cheque! Anytime soon haha EDIT: turns out the car only has 127ks! Dunno how I got that mixed up but I hadnt looked in a while.
