If you are accelerating at X rate with your torque building at Y rate then why would you not impact the variable of traction if your Y rate increase significantly from your X rate that it previously was? Think about it logically. You can accelerate as fast as the force you apply vs the amount of traction you have, your traction is constant, a sharp rise in torque (AKA FORCE) is NOT constant and will require more traction that your not getting any more of.

Whys that? I use a multi 2 ticket that gets me on any bus, any ferry, any tram and any train within the metro area with unlimited use for the week. Trains are seldom late, buses fill the gaps, ferries make for something to do on the weekend, so on and so forth. I should get my license back in 2019 and so far the last 3+ years without it havent been bad -
Without going into the physics of it, as I CBF to look up the formulas. Torque is force, traction is force. The 1400kg car car only accelerate at a certain rate FROM a certain speed with its given variables (tyres suspension etc etc etc). At a given point the rotating effort from the tyres (torque) will overcome the traction to the road. A sharp rise while it is already spinning will cause it to try and accelerate faster and with the additonal force it will overcome the available traction. Think of traction as KG per square CM from tyre to road, how much force to you need to break the traction? Like the handbrake, yeah it will hold the car from rolling away, but the motor can overcome the force on the little handbrake shoes if you try hard enough cant it? Is it the increase in engine RPM that will make you break free of the handbrakes hold or is it more specifically the torque (ala FORCE) of the motor that will force the wheels to move? Think about it dude...... Its physics.

RB20 and 25 are the same yet RB26 is different. There is an aftermarket company that makes a highmount manifold which has holes for both RB20/25 and 26 heads. They are ETM manifolds I am pretty sure.

Because its not linear. A sharp rise in torque will cause wheelspin. I race RC, when you flip the RC car mid corner on a swept furface the reason was a loss of and then re gain of traction. Similar principal.

Yes he is correct about the seals leaking because the contents of the sump backed up into the turbo... BUT, The point here is that its still an old CERAMIC WHEEL turbo which is a time bomb REGARDLESS of this oil situation. We are simply giving you stout advice in an effort to protect you from potentially a total failure when the turbo lets go and takes the motor with it. Anyway, GL.

Stao, you can get a brushless motor from a RC car or helicopter which will do roughly 5000rpm per every volt you give it. 12v = 60,000rpm. Also, the more load they have on them (brushless motors) the more current they draw and obviously the faster they will spin, so in effect the more air it starts to draw in the harder it will work. There are 10,000rpm per volt motors but they generally dont like more than 8 or 9v input. The rating is known as kV, for example 5000kV. They are also NO maintenance or drag from the motor itself, so very well suited to your suggested application.

As above. When the factory turbos let go they can take the motor with them, so dont risk your fresh head (or whole motor) on the cheaply replaced standard turbo. Personally I think a highflow is an awesome option for these cars these days, the technology is definitely there. If you do go something completely custom, dont go too cheap on it. Something genuine or atleast Kinugawa. GL

Imagine a T25 from a CA18 on a 6L V8. The second you open the throttle you will see boost. Stao wants to make something like that which still works like the turbos we currently use there after. Eliminating the wait for power to come on, and has quoted he wants it to be a 500hp item. Sounds good on the surface, yet as stated most of the more experienced users would appreciate some level of lag. But who knows, maybe the technology can be fine tuned further so that there's more leeway than currently being discussed.

I'm not sure working to have a turbo boost on idle would be a good thing. Off boost driving is actually great, not something I would personally want to give up. I'm not sure how successful these turbos would be in the wider community....

Considering there are 4088s and 4094s I have no doubt that garrett has simply mixed and matched some existing parts. IMHO I would expect the 3794 to be a little better under the pedal and make roughly the same power as the 4088. With the 3788 still being the pick of the bunch. In the GTX thread I already told you to search and that if someone had one it would already be posted. Moving on..

+1 cam timing. Check that its all TDC and if they are the DE cams as mentioned above might want to fiddle with some gears.

Talked about stuff like this when I was 18. Decided that solenoids (ie direct injection) were a better way to go.

Well what is your take on boost pressure into a factory motor? It is an ongoing debate between those who think its irrelevant and those who think x psi will blow the motor. I think this is fairly relevant as these new turbos all seem to be designed around big pressure ratios, gtx included.

The thread started as 'soon to be released' and has documented all known about the gtx range on RB motors. Perhaps read the thread and search the forum, if someone has results they would have posted them.

Ok smarty pants, considering they are roughly 50% of the cost of the average competitors product, the difference could be expressed as 1/2. Aka a fraction.

And yes, they appear to work very very well and reliably for a fraction of the price.
