  1. All fuels have a rich max and a lean max figure to which they work best at, generally anything between the two will be OK. Anything above or below will result in potential detonation or poor combustion conditions. Richer does not mean safer in all respects, it is generally accepted that richer is safer due to regular 98 properties. We are talking about lamens terms now and this should not be acceptable in something we put this level of money and developement into. Fuel blends have always been seasonable with many companies, yet actual mixture percentages advertised at 15% variance is shocking. Hope I didnt break your heart mate.
  2. Great, so you dynotune your car on an 80ish % batch then refil the next week on a 70ish % batch and blow your motor. Got to love garbage. This I highly doubt, are your sure?
  3. NRMA collected my vehicle after a theft and took months to investigate the claim before offering me a settlement. Settlement was close to only $800 on my R32 GTST, alternatively I was given the kind opportunity to withdraw the claim and pick up the wrecked vehicle. However, I was liable for storage of over $2000 if I wished to do so. NRMA, suck my enormous cock.
  4. As above, wheel choice and brake upgrades. Depending on your application you may not need a brake upgrade.
  5. I hate seen a 6boob with 1 gate on it before also. Does yours have 1 gate or 2?
  6. So gents, back to TS. What is everyones thoughts on one gate vs two? I cant seem to make a logical decision on just how much benefit to expect from two gates. Sure enough running two gates will eliminate the gas bleed between the two runners and will result in faster spool. However, just how much difference will it make in the real world? Well known companys like trust and HKS make single gate twin scroll manifolds.. So surely the single gate cant be THAT bad. My logic tells me, that the passage for the gate would fill with gas and form its own pressure system allowing the mainstream of gas to flow past without bleeding between runners. Furthermore, I have the feeling this would happen fairly quickly, making the need for two gates fairly low. An opinion or two or ten on the matter would be good... Im honestly at a loss with it and this sort of info (along with my other problem - 1JZ) is fairly hard to come by. Look forward to seeing what is to be said.
  7. More than the efficiency of your turbo on 98 ron I imagine. Anyone care to correct me?
  8. So you changed the spark plug on number 1 and it started working again? What does that tell you?
  9. It seems more of us need to jump on this t67 bandwagon. More dyno graphs would be excellent.
  10. Yes the exhaust manifold gasket is also interchangeable.
  11. That sounds like a plan mate, tomei poncams are well known for being excellent drop in cams. Even without gears. Many people have said using gears on the poncams did not gain anything as they were done so well out of the box. Poncam + retune and smile.
  12. I would say dry connection in the cluster itself or bad earth. Try smack the top of the dash as your cruising and see if it jumps? If so that would mean its got the problem I said above. Otherwise try to narrow down what comes between the dash and the signal source.
  13. The cheapest way would be a 1JZ manual half cut ($3500) with a 2JZ NA bottom end ($1000). Yet of coarse you run into the barrier of, who's gonna do your work and at what cost? My 2c
  14. Are you sure your not using the bolt thats meant to go on the block? Double check your works.
  15. Unfortunately the sound wont tell you if its new or old. A noisy pump can range from it being worn out to it being a big aftermarket one, you wont know until you pull it out and look. That means; you need to pull it out and look. Sorry champ!
  16. 3. Is yes. They do wear out. Plain and simple I wont even bother explaining it. One day the thing will stop working, no set time frame. As stated, $30 bucks just change the damn thing.
  17. I have been seeing a lot of TS manifolds out with only one wastegate, some of the big jap brands and even 6boost. I always wonder, when I see known big brand manifolds using one gate on a split manifold, just how much benefit there is to be had in TWO gates. Reference: http://image.nengun.com/catalogue/original...oyota_supra.png Running one gate obviously makes the TS experience a negligible amount more difficult than a regular open housing setup.
  18. It would happily be me although I am still in developement stages. Ive got a car and a motor, the two dont match yet. Will be interesting to see how these 5557 turbos perform against a 3037.
  19. lol man, your opinion is based on stock twins! get a 5557, I dare you guinea pig lol
  20. For a sneaky cooler, run a water to air cooler up the front of the car with a radiator and electric pump in the front bar. If you do it right it wont stand out too bad, and it will work tops. Something along the lines of this: http://www.pwr.com.au/images/intercoolers/4x6_kit.jpg
  21. Lith since when are you Mr HTA? I thought you hated the things PJ I have a car in developement yet its not running an RB, it is a 2.5 however.
  22. Can you honestly expect 350rwkw from a 5557 on 98 ron? This I would like to see lol. Need a donor car ?
  23. 2 things, your first comment is void - nobody plumbs it back to the factory gate position. The idea is they plumb it into the front pipe later down the exhaust. 2nd point, it is legal from an emissions perspective however ANY modification in just about ANY state is considered illegal. You highflow, is as illegal as it gets.
  24. Is it a weird sort of flutter noise? Choo choo choo choo?? If so, probably turbo shuffle
  25. Excellent results PJ! 2 things I'd love to know, are you running 2 gates or 1? And your opinion on how much earlier a 6262 would come on? I liking the idea of one of these, my aim is 350rwkw on 98, 2.5L twin scroll with as broad a usable powerband as possible.
