  1. T4 split pulse .84 or 1.00
  2. sky30 do you have a collar?
  3. My point is that 7.5x the price for a set of gears seems a little much. If you have ever approached a machinist about getting some parts CNC'd you would know $600 for a pair of gears is pretty hefty. I appreciate that its their IP and they can charge whatever they want, but you did post it in a public forum in effort to spark opinionated discussion. Such is my opinion, try not to loose too much sleep over it.
  4. Holy shit 600 bucks for a pair of gears. Rocking horse shit found! When I rebuilt my SR I paid $80 for a pair of genuine gears.
  5. It is a simple 3 port PWM valve, not a boost controller in itself. You can control it with the Vipec like any other PWM valve. See: http://www.full-race.com/articles/efr-install-guidelines.html
  6. He made a BIT more than 270 on the stock turbo lol he is accounting for dyno variance (if it even exists!). I can confirm Mick's evo is the ants pants in terms of having the full package. Mick, nah it was on 98. I was mostly disappointed with the spool character rather than the power, which isn't going to change too much when on E85. If I track down anyone I know with a HTA red I will let you know. Lith what was your bum-dyno thoughts on a HTA red strapped evo?
  7. Thats a little harsh, Lith .. I sat in the farking thing while it was punted for all it was worth LOL However, I drove a Green of similar vintage and that was awesome.
  8. I know a guy who was running a MAP EF3, from what he was saying I wasn't so impressed by the results.. I also went in a red powered Evo8MR and I was not wowed either. It was the older red, not the current HTA tech thing, but it was a red none the less.. All in was over 5,000 and it wasn't very fast. Choose wisely
  9. If you know the specs most piston outfits will carve you up a set for minimal cost difference to an off the shelf set. Personally I like CP's, and they can make the piston per your request. At the end of the day there isn't much to it, diameter and pin height. The official distributor for CP are in QLD, too. I can't remember their name.... They gave me the best advice and really knew their stuff. Order them with the optional European pins and they are a 1500hp+ capable piston.
  10. THATS THE SPIRIT!!!!
  11. Don't bother selling man. You will lose money and have nothing to show for it. Buy a set of pistons and put the thing together yourself. BAM professional engine builder.
  12. May be interested in swaps for some parts such as: - S15 or GTR torsen LSD and 5 bolt half shafts - OS Giken TS2B clutch parts (need good condition plates or rebuild kit) doesn't matter what model this is made for, the plates and bits are all the same - New rotors for R33 GTST - Quality branded radiator suit Silvia Cash adjustment where necessary.
  13. There is also the fact that the hotter charge takes more energy from the fuel as the fuel absorbs some of that heat. It is no secret that fuel coolers are used to get the enth on race cars. My can of worms comment was pointing fingers at areas such as a more efficient compressor, better pipework and a better hot side. All of these will contribute to the general heat generated by the thing and will therefore govern what you can actually do with a volume of fuel. By no means should two cars with the same injectors, oversized turbos but otherwise entirely different setups both max out at the same amount of power just because the injectors will both be on 100%. Staos result is possibly a little optimistic but we should also remember that Stao is a turbo developer with a test car, not a walk in customer with his pride and joy. I am sure Trent pushed a lot further on the test rig than he would be comfortable with on the average customers car. Possibly pushed beyond what most tuners would deem a safe limit. the figure is high, but not astronomical or impossible.
  14. Hey all, I bought this for my S14 as I needed my seat to be lower than stock, unfortunately the seat was actually taller than the stock S14 seats. I can confirm I have sat this in a friends R32 and it is roughly the same as stock. The S14 seats were simply much lower. The seat is a GOOD quality and near new Recaro SR3 replica with Recaro Gradation fabric. The rail is a GENUINE Bride Low Max rail for R34 but will fit all skylines and can also fit silvias with some modification. Both of these are near new and in VGC. Price is $400 ono Thanks,
  15. Your package is less efficient. Any details?
  16. Hey Morgan. Looking at your graph I have a strong feeling that your VCT is not working properly. Your car is nealry 1000rpm laggier than mine and for all intents and purposes it should be more responsive. Get this checked out!
  17. Yep, my bet is it would rock on a 3L.
  18. Yes, they are shit. You are likely to run into boost control issues and poor performance. Get a bell mouth dump.
  19. The skirts would be worn due to bad piston to bore clearance, nothing else. It can't be anything else. It's probably a similar reason why there has been blow by issues (bad machine work). When I built my motor and took it to be tuned I was given praise about how good it was. When I gloated that I built it myself I was given a rude wake-up call that the machine work was where the fine art is, and not so much the assembly. That said, it sounds like you had machine work issues on both your failed builds and you should source your own machine work. Then you can sit down and assemble the thing slowly and gap your rings per how you would like them to be.
  20. What's hard about it? What specifically do you want done? I cannot see a great difficulty in assembling one engine.. I would be prepared to do it. Unless you want stuff CC'd and full micrometer blueprint job. I don't see the need if you were happy to sell all at loss and whack in a stock motor. You may as well assemble and use the thing.
  21. Can you afford the pistons and about $500 on top?
  22. What is stopping you from finishing this? Is there anything that can be done as a community to help you finish this, rather than do away with it?
  23. Source all your own bits and you will get it done a lot cheaper.
