  1. LOL what car will you put this 90mm comp wheel on?
  2. muahaha sounds nice. i am starting concepts for development of my next stage too, the motor will remain the same but once funds permit and i have had my fun with the HG bolt on i will aim for 500whp myself.
  3. There has always been confusion surrounding the T67 25G. Per the kando variant it is a TD06SL2 25G, which I believe is the correct item. Some people think its a TD06H 25G. Roy you have a genuine item on shelf, why not just clarify with the calipers?
  4. For 220-240 and internal gate why arent you considering a hypergear? Get him to make you an SS1PU with a 3" vband outlet on the back, or you can just get the current turbo highflowed to that spec and it will bolt straight back on. It will be the simplest possible setup you can imagine and should shit in 220. I cant understand why its being overlooked....
  5. Roy im fairly sure the FP red's 65mm turbine isnt a trimmed TD06H, im fairly sure its a modified Sierra wheel. I doubt they are going to give away the info either way.. Is your 73HTA running yet?
  6. Thanks man! I'll let you know for sure. The gearbox input shaft seal shat itself on the dyno, so I'll need to fix that before I hit the drags otherwise I might just ruin the clutch. Wont be too long. I hope so Lith would be nice to get a respectable result from it.
  7. It will be interesting to see what my car traps.. If it exceeds 110mph or not. When planning the build I'd always hoped it would get close to 120mph, but these G3 results have got me guessing now.. Time will tell.
  8. Stao why dont you try make a G3 with a smaller turbine exducer? Trim down the turbine side and see what it does.
  9. If all goes to plan a friend of mine will have a decent result to contribute also as a comparison. VQ25DET with FP3076HTA, .82 Tial Vband Im helping a lot with the thought process and (like lithium) hope it works out well! LOL
  10. Make a 73mm billet wheel with a modified stage 3 sierra wheel and somebody in the US might be calling you about some patent issues lol
  11. to me the theoretical limit is in absolutes, so you could still gain midrange its a gamble but seems worth it for sure! And it would be a true back to back for everyone moving forward.
  12. I'd be keen to see the difference. I have always been confident that the SL2 turbine is the right way to go on the SR. I am really happy with my SS1PU, but who doesnt want more! lol
  13. Do it Dave... I'm really tempted to redo mine to an L2 turbine... POWA
  14. Stao is it possible to fit the SS1PU with the TD06SL2 turbine? Spool doesn't appear to be any worse, I may consider trialling this on my SR...
  15. Am not sure about the difference between FJ and SR but there are plenty of SR SL2 results to boot. Try find a few FJ and SR setups that are done with the same turbo and compare the differences, that way you can get a reasonable idea of how the SL2 will respond.
  16. there are a thousand T04E variants as stated. not all are bad and plenty of people have had them work without a drama. kicking in at 3600 is fine if thats when it starts to pull hard id be happy. find out what T04E it is and go from there. hopefully its one of the common ones. I recommend changing the ECU for a nistune at minimum and you will probably be limited by injectors before anything else.
  17. Dont mind the mixed emotions re the hypergear turbos. A careful read of this forum will tell you ALL turbos are a mixed bag for results. The most raved about turbo of all time is the garrett GT3076R (3037 spec) and on this forum and all other OZ based forums there are as many good results as their are bad, a real mixed bag. Plenty of ppl making 300kw, plenty making 240 and anywhere in between. The trick is in setting up your car right and not giving your tuner a nightmare to work with. A neat tidy and functional setup is best. I myself have gone a hypergear and was very careful with my setup. Like others I reaped the rewards. The best thing for you to do is to consider A: how fast you want the car to go, B: how much power/response will be required to do that and then C: what turbo will achieve that result. The answer to A is entirely up to you, but the answers to B and C are within the dyno and turbo specific threads on this forum. Good luck!
  18. ROFL i wasnt trying to talk anyone out of anything! I liked the guinea pig idea so much I had to google if they made good pets! There is no general consensus as such. Typically the T67s are sold as oil only and the SL2s are sold as oil and water. Nobody complains, they just fit them up and go about their business. It has been touched on in the past but not much came of it. My personal opinion as follows: Low mount stock manifold: use the water cooled core as it would most likely run hotter than a high mount, and you wouldnt want to cook the oil Plus asthetics arent much of an issue when low mounted. High mount: use the oil only item. Its tried and tested and you wont have 11ty lines running everywhere looking ugly. I hope that helps.
  19. Do not make me go into the whole wife spiel. You sell this and you will not be able to afford to replace it for another decade at minimum. Instead garage it, pay for the dental and the schooling and pick up where you left off with smiles forever more. If I had 16k I would buy this off you and give it back for free, you just need to keep it that bad.
  20. if you want a tried and tested unit, the HG is the way to go. cant fail! if you want to try something different in the hope it may be better (guinea pig) then the kando is there and available to you. As has been mentioned by Darren, Stao (hypergear) has done trial and error on just about every combo under the sun and his current highflow is a great unit. considering how run of the mill the kando's specs are i doubt Stao would have overlooked them. I personally witnessed a PU highflow (big .82 rear housing) on the road with NO VCT in a land yacht and I can tell you it hauled ass without any hesitation. Spool was great even without the VCT and it was putting out an honest 252kw tuned by JEM. but like said earlier, it looks interesting. just depends if you want to be the one to test it or not.
  21. From memory it will come with the line but not the gasket. honestly the prices are very close, no big deal. I'm sure anyone would pay the difference for a performance gain. the real question is which one performs better. I guess we will find out once someone decides to give it a go.
  22. LMAO land yacht! no matter how funny that is, I still harbour a soft/hard spot for ye olde R33. LOL HARBOUR! the hypergear is 880 from memory (highflow)
  23. Correcto. Which AFAIK is what goes into the FP units. So this little HF kando is potentially a very interesting little unit.
  24. Whoa that's a lot of speed out of a liner. I wonder why kando went for the little comp wheel? to my understanding these old tech wheels are still I'm circulation with some of the biggest name turbo builders out there. Might talk to a mate and see if he wants to try one of these
