I dont think either or will resolve the restriction in the manifold, but there is also a restriction posed by an internal gate size. My SS1PU has a MASSSSIVE flapper and port for an IWG turbo, and even then its only about 29mm. Popping a 40mm gate (from wherever really) would reduce the restriction from the turbos side and allow you to get a little more, still working within the flow restriction of the stock manifold. It simply stops the two from compounding and becoming worse. Doing it off the housing just means Stao can continue to supply the turbos as a kit, still fitting the OEM dump pattern and leaving the user to simply make a screamer pipe or plumb it to his existing dump. It will also open up the market for people who want to go a .63 rear housing for mega response, and who need an external gate to bleed off the higher pressure in the exhaust.

No I dont mean to plumb the gate off the stock manifold, I mean to leave the stock manifold as is and pop the gate off the turbine housing. Am confident it will work best.

How To Put A Rb26 Dett Into A R32 Gts-T?
GTScotT replied to 335's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
RB25 for sure. RB26 is a waste of time IMHO -
I think thats one of those things that is true, but not noticeable on the road or on the dyno. Negligible difference. I can understand if Stao scraps the project if the OEM item works close to or well enough hey.. Its probably easier for fitment and a better result to hang a gate off the housing instead. Stao why not back to back these 3: SS2 IWG stock manifold SS2 IWG stainless stock position SS2 EWG/housing stock manifold My money is on the EWG version topping them all and we wont need to test this stuff again.

Told you RSP are the bomb 7 working days blows the competition out of the water for these turbos. Couldn't ask for quicker.
-
Thats fair enough. I will be doing a WMI kit soon but not on my own car. I'll update results, might just do it your way and see what the extra boost has to offer.
-
LOL NICE. Good to know the kit works well without retuning. Any indication of power increase with the highboost setting?

R32 Rb25De + Rb30E

Is the RB30E bottom end still assembled? -

15,000 or 150,000 km? Theres a lot more oil in the intake than I would expect and the rear of it looks a little oily too. Some more history please, am interested. -
I can imagine that would work quite well lol

Get the WOOOOOOOOOOOSSHH one. They work so well that not only will heads turn, but mullets will flow in the winds of your WOOOSH valve.

Being built by advanced and tuned by JEM I doubt anyone will question the numbers. Interesting about the breather being normal for that power level, not something I expected.

A Little Dissapointed With My Number On -5S, Please Help :)
GTScotT replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you are concerned about the catback you could ask your tuner to do a few test runs with no exhaust post front pipe. unbolt from before the cat/test pipe and see if power will start to climb with more boost or timing. if its night and day you know that the exhaust is an issue. As a rule of thumb I think 350kw+ warrants a 3.5" exhaust. 450 would warrant a 4". 400 odd has been seen from a 3" in the past but that is on E85, which is not on parity to PULP either when it comes to numbers. -
A Little Dissapointed With My Number On -5S, Please Help :)
GTScotT replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
CobrAA the we need to point out the difference in numbers is simple. you came and said hi I have over 400kw from my -5s and I'm disappointed, how do I get more? well here's the thing. Most aus -5 owners make 330-350 and 400 would almost be an absolute maximum. So to us we are wondering why you think this is bad and what more you think you should have. acknowledging that you are in the US helps us determine what number you should be aiming for and how we can help you get there. I certainly don't mean to step on your toes but your trap speed which is not effected by traction certainly does indicate you have the aud.equivalent of 450whp. So now the question is where can you pick up another 50auhp. That is a fair expectation for those turbos. I hope this helps you feel less bashed. -
What's the smoke coming out near the drivers side cooler pipe you rekon?
-
Darren get an L2 with the ss1pu 71mm compressor instead. I reckon it will be even better.
-
ARTZ also had a 98 tune but on low boost due to a failing clutch. He then went e85 with the new clutch and left the 98 tune where it was from memory. 260 @ 14psi IIRC
-
Good to see the service and delivery speed lived up to its promise Simon you should get it this week.
-
Dori had an L2 20g
-
I dont think the lag is as bad as it looks. You cant expect too much response from a 2L with a 300+kw turbo man.. For me its really on par and I think its a good result.

Hey all, Selling my Snow stage 2 water meth kit. Paid close to 500 delivered, never used it, have now gone a different direction with the car. Will sell for $400. Its brand new. Its the boost reference model, so you adjust how much water based on boost pressure. Also comes with low water level warning light. Kit model number is 20010. Take it away!

lol so the antisurge worked ok then msports? thats good feedback to have

Will the stock plenum really see 700kw? This seems like a legit question that nobody is too interested in answering lol. Alternatively OP can check the results thread and find cars like the yellow nitto R34 which has that sort of power.. Can just see what sort of cooler/radiator/plenum he is running as an idea.

You can also get a threaded tapered barb, drill a hole and wind it in hard with some thread tape. also works fine.
