The above is irrelevant as plazmaman is an intake manifold, not exhaust. Sonny I highly doubt your manifold is cracked, its likely to be the gasket from turbo to manifold which is just T3. As it wont be a single day job for an ameture anyway, I recommend you take the turbo and manifold off and inspect for the damaged gasket. You can then also inspect for cracks in the manifold if the gaskets are fine. stock RB manifolds are very easy to come by as are the gaskets, so dont be afraid to take it apart first and work it out from there.

Stao can confirm, but not that I am aware. However he does usually recommend he fits the housing for you to check clearances.
-
Dimensionally (in/ex) its the same size as the existing 20g, its blade design that changes. Front cover is the trust style .60 if changes have been made to either inducer or exducer I'm sure stao will correct
-
Ive seen one of those ebay spacers with the 2 bolt flange plate used to mount a precision turbo on a skyline before. It certainly can be done, and if Stao makes the spacer himself Im sure he can also make sure it fits well. Then again he can just supply housings with a gate port
-
Stao why don't you look into getting a spacer plate made which accommodates your external gate? that way you can offer the turbos in external format and the user just needs to make a dump pipe, which you can supply a v band ring and clamp for.

How Loud Are Turbo's Supposed To Be In The Car?
GTScotT replied to Rancher's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
in my experience a poded R33 has mega induction noise. I originally had a K&N which was incredibly loud, I changed to a HKS shroom and the noise changed a lot. much quieter. -
LOL i can understand the logic, dont worry. I wonder if theres a way you could shift the powerband to the left... I guess VCT would make that hard because you dont have as much control over the intake cam.
-
Thats on boost nice and early and making a healthy power figure battery I like your setup under the bonnet too. Neat and well presented. Based on Stao's billet 20g results, I would say the billet 25g is also an improvement. I think all those parts come from the same supplier anyhow. So my logic is if they could improve the 20g im sure they also improved the 25g. And if its warp speed at 6, you should rev it to 9 LOL!

Heres the kit: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Snow-Performance-20010-Water-Injection-System-Stage-2-/390477290989?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5aea429ded#ht_1521wt_1133 Thats the same seller I used, same price I paid. I opened the box, admired the quality, threw out a useless cardboard divider and shelfed it anticipating my build. Then things happened and I went a different way with my build that doesnt warrant WMI, so its just taking up space. PM me a sensible offer and I'll have it in the post on Sat'dy morning. Hows that for impulse?

Power Ceiling At 160Rwkw - Restricted Flow?
GTScotT replied to clip14's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Meaning as it was on the dyno was the readout on the screen wavy? Going up and down as power rose. Or was it a smooth steady line? -
schweet. if anyone else is keen just drop me a PM
-
I will be selling my Snow stage 2 kit soon, has a warning light and boost reference control. Its brand new, so PM me an offer if you want mate.
-
doubtful that you will pick up response mate. the muffler is probably only becoming a restriction when you get to that 360kw level. Meaning that when your doing <200kw on spool up it probably isnt causing any restriction. You could try the juggernaught trick and make a 4" dump tho, which reduces back before the cat. I am of the understanding this will improve response and midrange.
-
Lol I had a strong feeling you would comment Ash. It's true, a decent exhaust can flow well and be quiet enough if you pay the price. My once epic super megaphone catback was ultra quiet and came free with the car
-
Exhaust. Legal. Two words that should never find each other in the same thread lol.
-
Yeap I had a super megaphone. Flowed really well, made next to no noise on my tractor (SR). pretty sure its an apexi, yes. My dad took to it with an angle grinder as it was taking up too much space in 1 piece he figured it was off the car at the time so it must have been deemed long term storage. Funnily enough the entire motor wasnt in the car at the time, thus taking the exhaust off too. Luckily he didnt take to the motor with an angle grinder too. P.S. Apekusera is the jap name for Apexera which is Apexi.

Stao why don't you try make the TD06 work with you .82 type B housing? with a little machine work you could be adding a whole new product to the market.
-
Exactly. I specifically said the SS1PU is similar in size but without the flaws of a GTRS. IE NOT A GTRS. While I believe the GTRS is an epic turbo for an RB, I do think its flawed in a few ways. Knowing the ins and outs of the SS1PU is part of what made me buy one. Stao I have had comment from some very high end users that your turbo is finished really well and they are impressed by what they see I hope I can bring you some more business! You deserve it.
-
Pics of my SS1PU which arrived today 5 business days from payment, to build and delivery interstate is freaking excellent. Love it!
-
Put it this way, the kando internal won't work at all so you will need an external gate. By the time you pay 700 for a turbo and 400 for a gate, you are already nearing the cost of the HG. Then you still need to have your gate plumbed and dump pipe made which will cost over 500 easy. you should make a responsive 260 on 98, 300 on E85. Then you have the HG ss1pu. Complete bolt on, uses the factory dump pattern and all. no external gate, no dump pipes to be made. Just bolt on and make an intake pipe. cost way less and still crack a responsive 250-270.
-
He's trying to say he hopes you are revving to 11,000rpm and pushing 2.5bar to make your twin GTX3076 worth while. why do you make reference to motors not being tuned? what tune is it running then?
-
I also think the cropped 3071 (HKS 2835) is an epic turbo for an RB. The delivery is brutal on an RB25, but I probably wouldnt go there on a 20. the bigger 60mm 3071 will be more responsive for the 20. The Hyper Gear items are similar in spec to the garrett variants but Stao customizes the wheel sizes to be more application specific. The SS1PU and SS2 replace the 2871/GTRS and 3071 respectively, and is bolt on.
-
yeah, 226 pages later we have said plenty of times that the T3 internal gate kandos do not work. If you actually read the thread you will find results of ppl testing the iwg and that it sucked. yes a 3071 is a good turbo, but just get a hypergear and save your money. Bolt with factory dump pattern. an SS2 type B will be better than a 3071, based on specs.

Can't wait to be boosting around With my SS1PU also I always said the GTRS was epic for a skyline, the SS1PU is similar in size but without the flaws. I can't wait.
