  1. I dont recall reading what changes he was going to do. I'd been talking to him a lot about the specs of those turbos a lot recently (which lead to me buying one). Im not sure if he will have changed much TBH.
  2. Ordering from the US is always better for service IMHO. I used Real Street Performance on a few occasions and delivery was about a week on all orders. There was one odd time when they couldn't ship an item because it was missing a piece from the MFG (the value of non drop ship vendors). That was rectified fairly quickly by the vendor, the supplier was a little slow though and I ended up taking a payout instead. Item arrived at my door, missing the said gasket, within days of telling them to send as is. They also sell PT's and pricing is as competitive as it gets.
  3. Why's that?
  4. LOL @ 4500, typo after typo. 300 is a good price for a good condition item. Goodluck with the sale mate.
  5. Lol sounds hot Martin, love it.
  6. Really depends on my injectors man. At the moment I've got 555s, if I stick with those ill dial my cams for max response and get 230. If my budget allows for a change ill grab 1000s and aim for 260.
  7. Talk about great service! I ordered my turbo on Monday, it was built and is already in the post. Stao has still been answering my queries and testing products in between, now that's what I call great service
  8. TD05H 18G should not run 10cm on an RB20, it will be laggier than necessary and wont make any extra power. The TD05H 18G 8cm will get you the most responsive 220kw out of the Kando range TD06SL2 20G 8cm will probably get you 240+ kw for your setup, will probably be the same amount of lag as a TD05H 10cm Hypergear SS1PU will be more responsive than a TD05H 18G and will probably make similar power to what a TD06SL2 20g 8cm will. FYI I ordered and paid for my SS1PU on Monday, I have a tracking number for it already - its in the mail!
  9. Nws mate. Are you going to give it a go either way? The info I got was that they just wont work in that housing, but I wouldn't blame you for giving it a go. Otherwise gotta stay -5
  10. They are freaking good at what they do there, but god were they assholes to me when I went Why are good mechanics such pricks? lol
  11. I covered this one a couple of months back, I did some research and was told the GTX need their specific covers. Cant run the bolt on style covers (or they would just make them like that for you boys!).
  12. yeah, they are a custom made item afterall. a little bend on the lines still well within the bolt on category, not a hard task when how little custom work is needed.
  13. Lol still, don't go boosting around with a turbo that blows more air at 5psi than the stock one would at 15. It's just not tuned for it, and boost pressure has little to do with the state of tune in this case. once its tuned we will be more than happy to hear about teh awesums.
  14. LOL please dont tell us it pulls hard again until it is tuned. last guy to get a HG turbo and see how hard it pulls, pre tune, blew his motor.
  15. im also worried about dialing cams im with the decking... Ive decked my block and dropping off my head to be decked today also. Running poncam type R's I hope it doesnt cause headaches..
  16. got to remember that its 1mm on the exducer but they dont tell us what they have changed on the inducer. Could be a way larger wheel in a smaller trim... or could be a smaller wheel in a larger trim. Who knows.. PJ did you ever dismantle yours to measure the inducer on the turbine side? I have always wondered why PT dont farking advertise those figures. With the smaller stuff I had a feeling they kept it to themselves because the numbers would match up to older tech T3/T4 based things. Bad for business when your marketing 'new tech'. Obviously we know overall measurements are not the be all and end all, but it would certainly raise the question.
  17. And who said you cant reinvent the wheel? If you get a chance please take some pics when building my turbo, for my personal build log
  18. PJ did you ever run a 62 base turbine?
  19. From what you said, you are under the impression the ECU no longer needs AFM's because the PFC has a map in it which runs the motor. Yet the case is: the ecu still needs AFM's or a MAP sensor to base what part of the tune map is used. Just thought I would interpret your comments this way as the other relevant points have been covered
  20. It might be that the 62mm wheel is more responsive, but by how much? You can see that the CEA wheel has better blade design and would be an overall lighter rotating assembly. Im also confident the 66mm wheel would flow a metric shit load more. If you were going 3L down the track I can see that the 66 mil would make for an intensely fast car.. but yeah I can accept 4mm in turbine exducer isn't anything to scoff at.
  21. Nice work Stao! Thats effectively the same theory as a 'big can' actuator. Hopefully the extra mechanical load works towards holding higher boost levels flat. FYI to all readers: Payment for my SS1PU has been made! Can't wait to have my new turbo in my hands!
  22. Hmm thats indicating its more than just a change in trim, the 64mm comp must have a way bigger exducer than the 62mm so its more or less an entirely difference turbo. Like comparing a 3076 and 3082 I guess. Same stuff, different application entirely. A link to a page with comparison to old tech 65mm wheel (I think the 62mm turbine is same tech) and compared to new 66 CEA turbine: http://realstreetperformance.com/store/precision-billet-cea-6266-turbo-750hp-turbocharger-2709.html?zenid=59df912a5cff403c6491d3cf5176bc7c FYI both 6262 and 6266 are rated as 700HP items. I'd be chasing that 66 CEA item, better tech is where its at.
  23. I've seen some photos of the 66mm cea turbine next to their older stuff... I'd be highly tempted as the aero looks great. Question in my mind is 62 vs 64 compressor in terms of lag. Id be tempted to just go a 6466 for the headroom, coz u know u will end up with a dirty 30 lol
  24. Being limited by injectors I'm aiming for 230 but have cams and gears so will try and dial it in at the lowest possible rev
  25. Rofl looking forward to that!
