Me too! I watched the entire development of the SS1 and SS1PU in this thread, I know the genuine effort that has been put into it and I know what I'm getting. On my way to the bank now. EDIT: ANZ the lazy pricks don't open till 9:30 so. I'll be paying for my turbo at lunch This will be mega.

Rofl. Told you guys, was tied down financially. spent the majority of my weekend motor swapping 2 s14s, on my own, to fund this. Just so I could say, told you so and I told you guys I make decisions fast once I can afford to

Temporarily Block Off External Wastegate?
GTScotT replied to Hanaldo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I do understand your problem.. Its just a matter of what's most feasible and what the best thing to do would be. Depending on how your WG port points you might be able to cut your screamer down and pop a cap on it. Then you can easily grind the cap off and remake the bit of screamer you cut off. If you dont have ability to fab this stuff yourself I really recommend you just wait for the seat. Its not going to be pleasant unless you can do it yourself hey. -
Temporarily Block Off External Wastegate?
GTScotT replied to Hanaldo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Get an extra V band ring and weld a piece in so that it simply clamps on and completely blocks the port. I recommend you don't block the screamer, block the WG port from the manifold. if its open and missing the valve seat its likely to fill the diaphragm with carbon deposit. No good. But driving it home like that should be fine, just dont get it onto boost... or anywhere near it for that matter. the car may be a little faster for a little less time than you had planned LOL -
I dont want to set the bar too high, it is a HF and is running a microguess. The microguess is the biggest holdup, to keep the tune safe I say discount about 20 from what it can do as a maximum.

Great result for a very budget build! That turbo would be good for 18psi at least, so I can see it would really come alive with some injectors and more boost. Good work, I would be happy with the result of a nice reliable ultimately budget build like that.

Thats honestly a pretty good graph man.. I can imagine you would want boost in as early as possible, and to hit the mark for power, but that is all in by 4k already. It definitely has the marks of a fast car, and I do believe the turbo is performing based on the shape of the curve. For a turbo thats capable of more power, to me it looks like its not running enough boost, or theres a flow restriction of some sort (other than the turbo). As its only a minor hold back on boost and your missing 10-20% power. Theres definitely more in it once you work out whats holding it back.

Did you buy it from blake? Aka bsa? if yours is t3 internal gate then its definitely an 8cm, its the only size they come. to save money and get the better results, buy a td06sl2 20g core and a 8cm v band rear housing, then reuse your existing comp cover. You will make the same power if not more and spool will increase dramatically. You will need to fab a new dump, and buying the core and housing will be about 500.

Vct is practically make or break for an RB25 on vct based cams. if that's not working deduct something like 1000rpm for boost threshold. its silly.
-
Ohh I remember you told me bout that one ages back. I wish you lived local man
-
HAHA nice, I think I might need to make a trip your way sooner or later and say Hi. What turbs is on this 14? Im in the market as the thread tells

Don't any of you listen to the radio? Once your sick of the noise the radio would block it out for sure. And sif you would get sick of sounding like your packing something massive. Gentle overtaking with a mean mechanical whistle is farking awesome. Lith do you still have your 33?
-
Goodluck mate, should piss it in!
-
lol considering im about to come back into some cash im likely to shut everyone up and impulse buy a turbo. meanwhile my crank still needs to be machined
-
And you know with all this Ron1 Ron2 stuff you and I are gonna have some crazy rivalry going. Gonna need to battle it out at the drags on the regular!
-
Fair enough must have had some gremlins. when do you plan to strap on Sir 5558alot? He's teh hungers I'm told. Wants to strap up and go get some pwnage.
-
Ooo you retuned? Why man? Your PT is so close by.... Why retune to suit your stock turbo when you are gonna put a new turbo on soon anyway? Maybe Ron2 will beat Ron1 to fruition!

Am not bashing either, simply gave my own opinion. I don't like them because there are too many things that could (potentially) go wrong, for that reason I like to keep it simple. Everyone knows they work, and plenty of people are happy with them. Just not my cup of tea as stated.

Little electronic parts sitting in a barrel of molten anger and butterfly valves with a constant flow of carbon deposit. Problem? lol

lol oh bugger off Roy, just because your married to your 32 and have a hoard of genuine Trust items this thread is for us whinging bastards
