  5. I doubt it will have the area under the curve yours does. I didnt realise it was a full house motor either................ My motor is a simple thing, not as special as Joels. So I shouldnt hold my breath really. TD06 is probably the more sensible option.

  8. Interesting, but that is an old T3/T4 based turbo with a fancy compressor wheel is it not? I thought the 5558 was something special in terms of being all new gen wheels and what not.. My aim is sub 300kw with as much area under the curve as possible, while sticking to a sensible rev limit (thus the decision to go 256/256 poncams). I might need to look into these smaller PT's now i guess.
  9. my decision is based on the item itself more than the price or customer service. the L2 20g is a good balance for the little SR in my eyes, and I dont think I will get the drivability I want from the PT (5558). Jez is tuning a SR w/5558 this week so im keen to see how that turns out........... but im doubtful it will show me what i want to see.

  11. as reference, a PT JB i can get for about 1000 delivered from the states. a kando about 600 delivered with the hand picked optionals. I wouldnt say they are MUCH cheaper than a PT, as the PT are extremely well priced for what they are.... but the Kando is definitely the cheapest option in terms of knowing what your getting. Still a good 400 bucks cheaper and I know its just a MHI/Trust replica, so thats pretty cool. Garrett prices are outrageous in Aus, and about 1400 from the US with an EXG housing. better value to buy PT or pay a little extra and get an FP HTA model
  12. I still support the Kando also. I got a reply from Eiji Takada himself in the early hours of this morning. Courteously responded to my email within 1 business day of it being sent, and offered me a further discount from the current ebay 'sale' prices on the items i wanted. Offered to send me the Paypal request straight up so I could pay the invoice and have the items shipped. Cant say I expected more, it turned out well. As reference I got roughly the same courtesy from Real Street Performance (US Based) when I odered my cams and springs.

  17. For anyone interested I'm getting closer to fruition with my setup. Will be ordering the 20G soon (again unless Jez convinces me otherwise) Block has been bored, honed, decked. Matched to pistons. 86.5mm CP pistons purchased Oil pump checked and OK Tomei Poncams 256/256 for non vct ordered and on their way BC single springs and Ti retainers ordered and on their way Need to send crank away and match bearings (local builder so no biggie) Head will be sent for a quick secret squirrel once the springs and retainers come back (locally again, they drop off and pick up for me so all good) Need to buy an S14 VRS kit, new balancer, ARP head studs and cometic or similar HG - Anyone know the best place to source these locally? Once the above items are on I'll be getting Mick_O down to fab me some sexy pipes and were off n racing.

  22. id say the one man show is just under pressure and not coping well enough to deliver good service. my dealings with him (probably a year ago now) had all been great. absolutely no issues in answering questions or giving product advice. id say he gets too many rednecks giving him a hard time about wanting exchanges and stuff which makes him take it out on everyone. admittedly im still going to buy another one lol... unless Jez can show me some more PT love and convince me to take that path. extra headroom would be great, but i have a feeling the L2 is going to be a creamy match to my healthy SR
