  1. the timing on the CAS could not be out far enough to melt a piston, no. its more likely that you were hanging its tits off and it wasnt getting enough fuel.
  2. Right you are, my bad! I think it was coz it had the knob chopped off that fooled me. Thanks for posting that. I still think the 3" .60 cover wouldnt be THAT bad for it. It should still work.
  3. lol you can just say no jay your a fool its 4" (refering to your dick) id definitely believe you
  4. your the first to report control issues with those manifolds, a few ppl have them now. many of the big name manifolds have LONG gate tubes also, so i dont think thats the issue. now you said you put the 38mm gate on your mates FJ20 and it still had the same problem, is that right? if thats the case have you tried putting your mates gate on your manifold? i mean if u put the same gate on a mates car and it still had a problem dont you think something is up with the gate? seems logical.
  5. When I read ur for sale thread it definitely looked like the SH had a 3" cover, tell me I'm seeing things?!
  6. yeah sounds like it leaned out and melted stuff. need a full rebuild and need to know what part fkd out and killed it. need to check the entire fuel system.
  7. My original post from page 30 said exactly that. Then I edited it in fear of a flaming Thanks for putting it out there though, I knew I wasn't going mad.
  8. Do a T67 with a 3" front cover and low mount it. If you check Roy's for sale thread he has a TD06H-25G that uses a 3" front cover that is normally native to the 20G we get from Kando. Thats a GENUINE TRUST item........... If trust used the 3" cover on a 25G wheel, it cant honestly be that much worse. Maybe need a psi or 2 extra to reach the same targets. Best of both worlds mate. I guess roughly the same response if not a TINY bit better and an easy 300kw low mounted (stock mani) on 98.
  9. lol my car runs dude, ill go start it now just for good measure wouldnt want the world to end. im building a spare motor for it and going for a nice 270kw setup. only started about a month ago and im almost ready to start assembling the fundamentals. can the world hold out a little longer u rekon? lol
  10. funny this has come up now, ill be assembling in the next few weeks. not liking this run in business, i want to drop it off for the tune and bring it home as is. dont wanna pay and pay and pay again. ill probably bed the rings, drop the oil and just thrash it happily ever after.
  11. Mine originally had the same symptoms as yours ARTZ, Jez was able to play with some idle settings to fix it. Later when I changed cams it came back. I now leave the AAC unplugged and touch the throttle as I turn the key. Once its on (even when cold) it runs fine. It is annoying though, the car should run like magic (never has). Ill get all that fixed when the new motor is finished.
  12. Im not sure how much tyre choice has to do with it. i remember speaking to a few great minds about that sort of thing who gave me great insight. from memory, manufacturers like porsche use wider tyres to get the same levels of grip with a better wear ratio. the concept behind that is in the weight of the car over the area of tyre. the smaller the tyre is the more force it will have per unit of area. so a skinny tyre will have more pressure applied per square inch than a wider tyre. i also read that wider tyres can give the illusion of more grip by needing more energy to turn and make lose grip. generally the skinnier tyres and wheels were seen as more efficient which is why in the early days of F1 they would run tiny tyres. nowadays we are always pushing the boundaries with speed and need wider stuff to distrubute the wear and need less changes in a single race. annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddd traction @ 300kw discussion BEGIN:
  13. Sorry WHAT? Dont be so defensive like im mocking your hard earnt layout. Good luck to you, I hope your stuff turns out well, I message Jez on the regular and get updates on how your cars coming along. The way you replied to that is almost offensive. Mitch above is on the money. Im simply curious as to why its needing so much flow, and in a perfect world that could have lead to discussion about what other people have flowed with what setup. Who knows, maybe a few great minds would have joined in and helped troubleshoot so you can find out whats going on. Spending my money, pff.
  14. Isnt this turning out a little excessive for sub 400kw? I wonder why it needs so much flow, le hmm.
  15. check all the wiring as it sounds like its losing connection somewhere... maybe a bad earth. in all honesty i would ditch the freaking thing before it costs you a motor. I hate HKS EVC, i had 2 in the past... one never worked right and i binned it. the other worked fine for ages, i sold it in working condition, sold it to someone on ebay who asked i install it, installed it and got it working well, then it fking died 3 days later and caused me no end of trouble with the dude (douche) who bought it. i sold the working one twice to be honest, first guy was a young kid off here who installed it upside down and couldnt work out why it had infinity boost. once he turned it the right way up it was fine but wasnt happy with how little extra power the car had on 11psi than it did on 9... thus wanted a refund. i hate those boost controllers with a passion. my own car has a turbotech.
  16. its a gravity operated solenoid, so it wont control boost well if its upside down. it says it in the HKS book lol so if you read err 100 was open circuit, and i said that i think its an open circuit, doesnt that mean its an open circuit? sorry man just wondering if you made a typo there lol. if it is an open circuit refer to previous post
  17. Lol 34geeteetee I'm pretty sure err 100 is an open circuit. To test that have the car running at a time the Evc is working fine then unplug the solenoid. If it gives the same error thhen that means open circuit. it would be doing.that when its hot coz the heat makes it expand and It must have a dry or cracked solder joint inside. Make sure it is far.from.the. exhaust and that the solenoid barbs point directly skyward. also why.does it Sig say 360kw but u keep saying its in the process and are up to 300 odd? 2nd tune?
  18. Lol very funny old timer, I missed that one when I looked myself. I did actually check first as I didnt want to make a dick of myself. Want not want whatever dick made, hooray lol. thanks tho, its something I wanted to know
  19. i thought the neo op6 was a hitachi like the other stock RB25 turbos? since when does a neo run a garrett?
  20. Stick to the t67, that ones gonna be lazy in comparison
  21. LMFAO not sure if joke or serious............... classic
  22. After my tax return it will be a down hill run till I have another 20G result to add, but mine will be from an SR found out today one of my liners is damaged towards the top of the bore and needs a quick deck. Gonna get that done and all thats left is a new rotor set for the pump and move on to the head. Just giving it a quick clean up at home then getting it skimmed. Not long to go, but then again I didnt start that long ago either
  23. lol holy shit that is a gay skyline, i wonder if the owner thought that was cool at the time LOL @ ex with lion mane
  24. Bullshit. Tiger stripes make it the second king of the jungle, your KW is irrelevant. The only bad ass mother focker who can take you down is he who has the lion mane mod. The lion mane makes any car the king of the jungle.
  25. That's coz its a HHH lol... The others are only running single heavy Duty stuff
