Ah so you will be switching maps dependant on your content sensor reading (manual overide) gotcha. Split pulse changes everything.. Cant compare anymore.

Birds you mean you are going to go a full flex system? Need to be careful which ECU you get to do that, and tuning will be costly. AFAIK Most entry level flex fuel ECU's have a compensation ability but limited ability to tune right back to 98. Unless you mean to run dual maps, which is another easy option again based on the ecu (something id try if I could).
-
Be it myself I would stay safe from shortages on 98, being able to fill up wherever I go. But thats your call. E85 IS the superior fuel, if the car is set up for it. Theres a thread in the FI section on a guys fuel setup which detailed some important info about E85 and sitting around ETC.

Nah im sure its fine Davo. Im sure it can be pushed to that point but it has to become a restriction at some point. It would obviously be easier done through a 35R also, rather than a TD06. Its all a balance of parts in the end. You will probably find with any given setup you could do something as trivial as move the WG position or length of the WG tube and gain/lose very noticable amounts. That's just the nature of this hobby. We all said it in the start, SimonR32 hit the nail on the head with his setup. If I was to do a T67 I would do my best to model his. That being said, if I was to do a 20G, I am pretty damn impressed with your results thus far and would be stoked with sub 300kw thats on from 3500.

Come drive mine once its off the rollers next, if it turns out as per the last one that I did with this exact setup (this motor has .5:1 more CR, hopefully its not a negative thing) it should be ballistic. Ive already got it pushing me back at 2000rpm. Praying it works in full this time. -
Ahh yes. Forgive my ignorance there I am ill and forgetful at best right now. POS stock manifold.

Troll. -
If you google hard enough you will find RTA related documents about it, more or less theres no issue with it if your not relying on it to pass emissions.
-
Exactly... Thats really weird that your finding the limit of the same hot side sooner with a smaller compressor... Perhaps the 20G is pumping hotter air at 300kw than the 25G is which makes it take up more volume... Thoughts?

Jez is fairly conservative when it comes to his tunes in general, leaving a big safety margin. I would say his is just not finished yet and is still in its build stages, once VCT is in and hes able to ramp boost on harder Im sure the results will reflect its completed state.

All suppliers will cover their backside first, regardless of if they will warranty the issue or not. You should ask him if the turbo gave up next week would he replace it then? And if the motor injested parts of smashed turbine wheel will he also warranty that? Just point out there is a reasonaby high risk and the cracks were not there from new. That means they will only continue to spread. Having worked with the person before I know he will accept the warranty claim after you make a large enough fuss about it.

like Zebra said, I wouldnt expect much difference to the RB25. There are also 3 or 4 mentions of 98 tuned variants from STATUS which got about that 330kw mark, again similar response to a 3076 maybe a tad less.

I dont understand the comment re a small number, it is an EFR running 17psi...... Arent these things designed around massive PR's? I think its doing a great job, knowing you have E85 up your sleeve you should definitely squeeze at least another 5psi out of it. How much can be expected from something thats 'all in' at the 3400rpm level on a baby SR? LOL. IMHO Your motor is going to free up too, a years worth of sitting around will make it pretty lazy off the bat. Well. I like your results. They make me wonder if the GTX still have their place on a 4 pot, and your not at full tune yet. Good work! P.S. f**k YOU BORG WARNER, hurry up and make these things readily available -
I may be interested to sell my Snow Performance stage 2 kit, if your interested it could save you a couple of dollars. Its still BNIB. Using demineralized water should let you reach the further point of the compressors flow. IE if you want to run -9s on your car but know 330kw is probably their limit if your lucky, using water injection would get you there 'easier', if not a little further (due to the ability to push more boost). Ive changed plans with my car for now (as I always do) and will pick them up again after some alter-life (non car related things) are taken care of. If nobody wants to save a couple of dollars by picking up my kit I will just leave it on the shelf where it is.

may i draw everones attention to the rb25 dyno thread, jez has cracked 300 @ 17psi and no vct. with vct it should be a different animal all together, not to mention stretching the compressor flow to its limits. i dare say jez will give mick a real run for his money when its done. from memory theyare shapping up quite similar up top, boost for kw that is. now, begin!

all s2 tb's look like that, new age cars dont have a kick down when the ecu already knows what throttle your on lol
-
lol you did ask a silly question (how did people who encountered surge decide to try surge ported housings?) so I gave you a silly answer. I still love you though man, dont get mad.
-
can you feel a hard edge when you run your finger nail over it? should email kando and see what they say. possibly fine, possibly the odd 1/100 that slipped through QA
-
look champ, everyone knows the china SS actually do a decent job. the problem is not their performance, its their strength. if you can buy a decent manifold that will work and wont break for a good price, why not? the man is selling his product for what it is. hes not trying to sell a T4 TS manifold that will out perform the competition.. making an open frame housing is no secret science, especially at the 300kw most people will use these for. let it go.

come on mate suck it up, they cant be that weak dont be eating 1L of jelly now will you

thanks for taking the time to share mate, thats really valuable info i wonder if all tuners would keep to the same margins. my biggest concern liesin a car tuned on e70 and tunedto its ragged edge, then filling up on e85. either way, you have bestowed some faith in me. thanks,
