  1. Kando are Trust/MHI copies, Trust produced kits for almost every car under the sun with those turbos. I for one went to websites like Nengun and researched what kit trust made for what car, which gave me a clear indication of what would work. 'FWIW' HKS also sold their shit in kits as well as on their own, again enabling people to make an educated decision. And, if you read the Kando thread, there are people looking to buy surge ported housings because............. Wait for it....................... They encountered surge while tuning. OMFG I KNOW RIGHT. The surge ported housings are just the intended Trust style housing with surge ports drilled into it, no secret science/gamble recipe.
  2. Hmm that almost looks like it has a restriction, the older results say it louder than the new.
  3. Lol all well and good but someone has got to be the first. Most of these up and comer brands dont have the backing that Garrett (HKS) do. Its normally some poor bastard end user who will trial it out, or in some lucky cases the sponsor shop will put one on their own car. I think for a lot of people the outcome on these is an educated guess/mystery.
  4. Yet what if your the first malaka to try it out? AKA the pioneer of that model on that motor. How do you make your educated guess then good Sir?
  5. Agree the Xtreme Motorsport clutches have also worked very well for me. A car Ive done previously had the Xtreme button plate wear a little thin so I popped a regular exedy organic plate in it and its been running forevermore another 18 months of abuse later.
  6. I use PBR made Clutch Industries RPM kits. They don't exceed the $400 mark too often and have not had one let me down yet. I havent used one on a 500hp skyline though lol
  7. Buttons take a lot of effort to drive and maintain IMHO. The HHHDB (3x heavy duty button) normally gets sticky in traffic and wont like to shift easy or come out of gear. If you know how to use it and stop it from doing that, they are OK. I would rather have a HHHD which is the 3x hd without the button. It just makes it easier to manage and less stress getting around. It will be forgiving like a normal clutch, where as the buttons dont appreciate driver error. Your passengers will appreciate it even less lol
  8. So yeah. If it was new, it was bed in wrong or driven bad and ruined. 200kw is stock clutch territory.
  9. +1 go hypergear highflow suitsyour goals and more plus looks stock
  10. If you bring a flywheel and clutch with you, ready to be installed, I will do it for you for $250. Im not a mechanic, but feel free to speak to Jez about if Im capable of or what not. Am in Bankstown, just PM if your interested.
  11. about 3 days. how long did what take?
  12. How much do you want to pay brosef? I'll tell you if I am willing to meet your offer
  13. Is there any indication when the lead time will become weeks instead of months?
  14. Do Trolls have an odor or anything we should watch out for? lol
  15. I don't know why I am the first to say it, but 600hp is actually a hard goal to pursue. It's better if you consider how many RWKW you want, based on others results and feedback on this thread and go from there. Buying a 600hp kit when the feedback of a 250rwkw turbo suits your goals is going to end in disappointment and heartache. Furthermore at that level you should definitely avoid a 'turbo kit' of any sort unless you know EXACTLY what parts are used AND those are the ones you intended to use. It's actually incomparable to building computers, but you can consider picking one wrong part to be like trying to put DDR3 based ram and GFX into a an old socket A mother board/cpu combo. Lots of cool bits, no back bone to make it all work in harmony. 600hp is 350rwkw. 600whp is 450rwkw. Make sure you know which one you want..... 450rwkw is $30k in mods that will always break your heart, until you give up and pay a better shop another 20k to fix it. 16. this is my personal view on the topic... if all 3 were brand new and had identical mods done, including supporting mods, they would all end up with about the same power. if you then gave them all the same power, same gear ratios, same WEIGHT - then they will go as well as either or. so in the end, engine condition, weight, ratios in no order make up the winning combo assuming power is equal. k, done. lock.
  17. Im pretty sure its got 330-340 in it, will be good to see what the g3 can do
  18. Oh, one of THOSE nasty things? Hold onto your sheets...
  19. What sort of thing do people want to see? Text/cars/engines/full colour/black white ETC? Throw some idea's around, I'll put pen to paper with a fellow car enthuso friend
  20. I always liked the stock cooler with the stock or R33 turbo on the RB20. If you dont plan to do many mods Id just put the stock cooler back on and sell this one like the guys are telling you. An R34 sidemount will be a good upgrade for it and will be a good match to the stock turbo on say 12psi. You will probably get away without a tune too, just put it on a dyno to check AFR's and keep rocking.
  21. Maybe it is a happy result guys, but how happy? 20kw? Wowsers, thats still a cool 240kw from a basic highflow. Come on
  22. So a Brainiac broke the Brainbox. Oh the irony.
  23. Direct from the RB25 dyno thread:
