  1. Its a good number. But I cant spoil it for the owner Ive heard very good things, as expected! Cough *cut price GTRS upgrade*
  2. And people reading about RB29 WOOOOWWWWW are here to say wowww look at the 2.9L go. Its perfectly relevant for someone else to give a comparison to a 3L, so that those reading this thread can make informed decisions about what they want to do with their own cars. No need to be sour and say 'your 60kw short'. Crap like that is why there are 1000 RB30DETs on the road and only a handful of people willing to share their knowledge and experience.
  3. The thread is about big capacity RB's, he is contributing relevant data regarding a large capacity RB. Ever heard the term STFU?
  4. Yeah thats always been a concern of mine with an AM manifold. Im not so much worried about 1 stud being a little off as you can drill out your housing a mil or two as can your gasket, but id be worried if there is a lip in the flow path/entry to the turbine housing. That could result in really SHIT performance. If Kam can show us his ports match perfectly to the gasket it will go to show it is an excellent product I have full faith in this product as long as the port accuracy, collector/runner design and strength are all A1 I dont mind what corners are cut in the appearance department. But you should know cam that being well port matched and having a good collector is a MUST for a successful product.
  5. Maybe your fuel gauge is more sensitive towards the end? I know some of my old Nissans would hover around the middle of the gauge for ages then SNAAAAAAPPPP your pushing the shit. My Evo was worse. The light on the dash signified DRY.
  6. Hey mate, Can you PM me the tag number off the CHRA? Just take a photo if you want. Thanks,
  7. A little useless telling you this now but had I known a month a go I would have sorted you out... I ended up using my 555s 'for the sake of future scope'.. Cars all done now
  8. FYI its spinning through 1st and 2nd. 1. dont let that fool you to think it really instantly goes to 100kmh once you engage 2nd gear, it still ends up there before he shifts to 3rd but its not instantaneous. 2. you should consider if you have the skill to drive a car with that sort of delivery. That would easily go sideways with the wrong twitch of the steering. Imagine you fumbled a traffic light grand prix? Oooft.
  9. you mean its NOT using 10 litres in 30 seconds lol
  10. You could expect the same sort of power/delivery from the 20g setups you are looking at.
  11. Kam how accurate is your T3 port/bolt holes to an actual T3 gasket? Can you please hold a gasket to it to show? While I think whinging about the flange being perfect flat or not is a waste of breath, its a compromise made to keep the price down clearly and that is fine with me, yet I think the turbo flange dimensions need to be 100% spot on or a tiny big smaller. Please take a photo for your future customers Thanks,
  12. you mean i didnt embed or they cant youtube for themselves?
  13. +1 Again, knowing how to keep it on the boil better will make the car feel a lot faster. Shifting at the right time, speed of your shifts, how early you get on the throttle in certain situations ETC. All counts. Like I said, I convinced someone to buy my Disco despite the fact my car was the poorest example of what he should expect from it. I think his T25 180 would have been just as fast, hell civics were pulling on me down the main straight at wakefield. But its all perception at the end of the day, and that being said I dont think there is much to see from these sorts of videos. But you should still buy the SS1PU champ
  14. At the moment I am fairly confident the SS1PU is a Zingy'er turbo than the L2 20g is, based on the existing results filtering thought. The SS1PU has shaped up to be a GTRS competitor with the prospects for more power should the setup allow for it, while the L2 20g is shaping up to be a true 2835 competitor (which is what some of us had always coined it to be..). I guess this is where this thread would have ended up anyway lol
  15. FYI Mick_o's setup is VERY nice for a streetable skyline. One of the best Ive experienced (yet to experience a GTRS skyline though).
  16. If you want your mates to say 'oh fark' you should brush up on your driving skills. My S14 was particularly slow in my eyes (especially for an SR strapped disco) but I still made the rather experienced import owner crap his pants and think it was UBER. Instantly paid cash for the turbo and picked it up a couple of days after. Having owned an Evo, I dont think they are all that uber either if you are just a foot down man... Yet you could always.... Foot down and wait..... FOR T88!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would surely feel ballistic. Otherwise learn to keep it on the boil, and everything is suddenly scarily fast. I will try to recover some of my old HDD data soon, and will post some videos of 180kw S13s and my old Evo 4 (nearly stock). They are surprisingly quick.
  17. most important things, check for fuel and spark.
  18. ahh mah gard iz dat lyk firing a batch of eggz at dis gronkz hous? yee f*k ye, letz do eet
  19. ZOMG U SERZ?
  20. So dori is running batch fire?
  21. I do agree with Disco but in this case having ready access to a fresh RB25, I would just roll with it You wont need much just a minor rewire, intake bits and a window switch for the VCT. Leave all the R32 wiring in place and just put the thing in there. Harmless!
  22. lol as hopeful as I am, that doesnt say 'fixed' anywhere on it. But it could potentially resolve one of the issues
  23. Your not getting a bad name. The quality of your work has not been mentioned at all. Putting a gate on the stock manifold wasn't guaranteed to work, its nobody's fault if it didn't. It doesn't matter how well you did the job, it matters if putting a hole in the collector of a divided manifold and a gate within a few inches of it will create turbulence. See what happens anyway.
