  1. On top of the inlet manifold near the throttle body there should be a sticker, either 'NICS' or ECCS'.
  2. There are 3 different types of RB20DET ECU: R31 - NICS (red rocker) R31 - ECCS (red rocker) R32 - ECCS (silver rocker) They aren't interchangeable, so make sure you get the right type to suit your engine. Of course there is also auto and manual types on top of that.
  3. Yes that's not a problem, I've 'bench run a couple of RB20DET's without the IC. You could even drive the car that way, as long as you don't put the engine under too much load (read: go gently). All you need is a bit of hose or pipe to connect the turbo outlet to the cross-over pipe inlet. I just jury rigged some spare IC hoses and pipes I had lying around.
  4. PCD is 114.3mm so 4 x 114.3
  5. Yes, CBC and the like will have these or get them for you. They also have comprehensive catalogues and while they almost certainly won't list the HR31 (I assume it's the diff in that car ??), the seals are common to all long nose R200's so just ask if they list the seals for the diff in a 260Z, 280ZX (manual only) or Z31 300ZX.
  6. It's still here.......
  7. I'm in Ferntree Gully. Don't know exactly how heavy, but it would fit in the boot of even a smallish car....might ride a bit low at the back tho
  8. per sub, RB30E from '87 R31 Skyline. Inc block, crank, rods, pistons, sump, oil pump. Done about 160,000knm $50 pick up only. No water pump or thermostat, but could probably find something at extra cost. ..and yes it has all the drillings, etc for a turbo conversion.
  9. No....because it won't fit....thread diameter is different.....
  10. Those are rod bolts, but for an SR20. ARP don't list any products for RB engines in their cat, but I've been told that VG30DETT bolts are the same - can't say for sure that's right tho...
  11. Stewart Wlikins Motorsport lists conrod and main bearings for all RB engines (but not whether they are u/size ??), plus a bunch of other stuff, go here and download the catalogue: http://www.swmotorsport.com/home.htm worth a try.
  12. No, just tells you your cats a bit hot.
  13. The sensor just to the left of the oil filter (ie toward the rear of the block) is the oil pressure sender. The RB2x blocks have the same thing in the exact same place. It is a 1/8" BSPT (taper) thread in each case. All the bolt holes in the block to the right of the oil filter (toward the front of the block) are for the engine mount + the inlet manifold support bracket.
  14. These are the knock sensor bosses. The RB30ET only uses the middle one. On an RB2x block with 2 knock sensors, they are screwed into the 2 bosses close to each end of the block.....the RB30E block has the exact same bosses in pretty much the exact same place, so it's just a matter of unscrewing them from the old RB2x engine and screwing them into the RB30 block. They even have exactly the same taper thread. I have my bottom end built and the sensors in place, but don't have a digital camera at the moment, otherwise I'd post a pic. As to the other electrical connection you mention, sounds like the oil pressure sender....is it right next to the oil filter ???
  15. Yes, that's the one. They actually get the belt from Gates and cut the width down themselves to 25mm. They also have a web site at: http://www.powergrip.com.au/
  16. Oh, and for those in Melbourne, I just bought the timing belt mentioned on TwinVL's website for my conversion. It's available on special order from PowerGrip Industries in Box Hill. Cost was $80.10
  17. RB30 block actually already has 3 knock sensor positions drilled and tapped on the block ready for the sensors to be screwed in. RB30ET only has one knock sensor, and it's right in the middle (between cyl 3 and 4) The 2 other sensor holes are in exactly the same position as on RB2xDET, so you just take them from your old engine and screw them in...no problem.
  18. Main difference is that R32 type (silver) uses a ball-bearing turbo, but all red-top are plain bearing. As far as I know they all use ceramic turbine wheel. Red tops did not have a factory BOV.
  19. Yes, 2 actually. They are screwed into the block 'underneath' the inlet manifold, so you can't see them easily. One is about in line with cyl 2, the other at cyl 5.
  20. MR-GTR on these forums has one I believe, and was also looking to import and compliance them when I met him a couple of years back. Do a member search, he's gone quiet lately, but I thought I saw a post from him recently. He's on the Gold Coast as well (or was at the time).
  21. try again
  22. This is a crappy picture of the part (arrowed), but should show you enough...hope this works...
  23. I'm after the right-angle elbow that bolts to the stock RB25DET compressor housing and connects the turbo to the factory cooler pipes. I'm in melbourne but will pay COD/postage from interstate. Thanks
