  1. Well, as I understand it, pulsations in the intake (which are pressure 'waves' that travel up the intake pipes) 'expand' into the resonator box and are effectively damped out.....OTOH, some argue that it just interferes with airflow, they may be right as I certainly don't claim to be an expert
  2. It's a resonator box....the idea is to reduce pulsations in the intake system.
  3. The only info I could find on this was in the Z32 300ZX manual....according to that it isn't simply rpm related, but the ECU takes the input from a number of engine sensors and adjusts the VCT accordingly....

    parts needed

I've got a complete rear subframe from an R32 GTSt, but in Melbourne....
  5. R32 BB turbo's use the same banjo's as RB25 (and so does VG30DET turbo for that matter). OTOH, R31 non-BB turbos use the same oil line bolts (diam/thread), but the water line bolts are smaller diameter than the R32/R33/VG30DET types.
  6. Interested in AFM and ECU...check your PM
  7. I'd rather get rid of it all in one go, but if not I'll get back to you.
  8. Yes...it tells the ECU info about injector an ignition firing points/crank position. Somethings obviously not lining up properly any longer. The internally splined 'shaft' engages with similar shaft bolted to the end of the ex camshaft. If it's not in the right position, then ign timing etc will be out.....
  9. Complete rear subframe minus diff, shocks and brakes. Has driveshafts and HICAS rack, plus all linkages, etc. No damage, just need to get rid of it. Offers.
  10. It's the CAS = Crank Angle Sensor. Not really clear what's broken off from the photo's. Shouldn't be too hard to get one from a wrecker. If you really get stuck I think I've got a spare somewhere, but I'm in melbourne.
  11. No it's not (where the manifold bolts to the head).
  12. Well, those cassette players can be damn heavy LOL But seriously, all the other things being optional, it seems the extra weight is in the electric seat.....
  13. I'm glad.....but it seems the really important difference from a performance point-of-view is that the GTS is 30-40kg lighter......
  14. I know where there's a complete autospoiler inc front bar for $250.....
  15. RB20DE doesn't
  16. Interesting...my car has an auto-spoiler, but pretty sure its 'only' a GTS.
  17. I'd also be interested to know the answer on this one....looking at some of the pics in that catalogue it seems that some GTS-X's didn't have a rear spoiler as standard (!?!?) - look at the silver one on the 3rd page. I would be better if the specs page was readable as that's probably where the info lies. BTW Rezz...great info on that sight nonetheless
  18. I ended up working out the thread pitch and diameter, then went to a Metric bolt specialist and found a suitable bolt. It was a matter of machining the bolt to suit (bore centre/cross drill), plus I also had to bore out the end of the water line to suit the bolt. Obviously unless you have access to the equipment, probably easier to get the bolts from a wrecker...the ones I tried either didn't have them or didn't want to sell. I didn't use any new gaskets as the old ones looked fine, but I used new copper washers on the oil and water lines.
  19. What type of RB20 is the AFM off - red or silver ??
  20. I've got one on my R31 coupe. Everything bolts straight up EXCEPT the water lines. The R32 turbo has bigger banjo bolts for the water connections.
  21. Check your mail
  22. What it means is that the RB25 is in a 'milder' state of tune compared to the RB20. There's no doubt that the flow potential of the RB25 head is greater as the ports and valves are significantly larger than the RB20, as also is the RB26.
  23. Apart from camshafts, there are no differences between NA and turbo heads....CR change is acheived via different pistons.
  24. James - ring me on 9626 7525 (W) or 9758 0593 (h) urgently to sort this out.
