Question About Stock R32 Bov
tm_r33 replied to r32man09's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
lol no r31 nismoid.... we should let him in on the secret. a small run of 32's were built by mitsubishi. -
i was waiting for flames!! where does a 15 year old get the money to buy a 34 ?

would u treat 25 and 20 the same as 26. obviously the cross over pipe is completly different than the forward facing when it comes to induction flow characteristics but even so ive aways been told last cylinders tend to lean out on rb's. i could never see how this could be posable with the cross over pipe set up though. maybe as stated above about the last cylinders being hotter is the reason for changed combustion in last cylinder(s) or maybe it is only problems on 20 and 25 if a forward facing plenum is fitted?
-
haha i had a jjr 3 inch dump/front straight into 3inch side pipe last year. loved it lol sounded mental
-
what bottom end do u need? hopefully ill be there but the 25/30 isnt quiet finished so we will have to see. last year was great fun.

R33 Gts-t Nismo Instrument Cluster
tm_r33 replied to Motorman's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
gtst cluster should have the boost gauge in the bottom right of the rpm gauge shouldnt it? this is for gtr. the reason it shows no boost in the cluster is because gtr has boost gauge in centre of interior yes? -
hang on... u guys mean to say that the bit of cable that runs from the positive battery pole into the fuse block is a fuse???? isnt it just a large gauge piece of cable that takes the positive from the battery to one side of the fuses and relays?? i have replaced this bit of cable twice when installing battery isolators and in no way did it look like a 'fuse'. it looked to be exactly the same as the earth strap on the other side of the battery... just a piece of cable!!!

well if it is nylon then that means my car had the newer r34 turbo on it??? To me it looked very much to be steel and all felt factory when i unbolted it. Only other thing i can think of is that some of the late series 2 had the turbo that was fitted to the neo 34 motors? In any instance wouldnt the newer nylon wheel be better??? How did u find out it was nylon?

I got a front mount kit to suit your car. I just pulled it out of mine. Im running a different shape core in a different spot with my new 3 litre thats the only reason im not keeping it. $200 and its yours. Comes with all pipework
-
32 fuel tank is in a complet.y different spot to 33 tank. Highly doubt they will be the same shape. 32 lives under the boot behind rear axles. 33 lives under rear seats in front on rear axles.

compressor wheel is definatly steel. not nylon. turbo sold anyhow lol

Spark Plug Electrodes Gone Through Engine.. Repairable?
tm_r33 replied to jarrod83's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
u mean to tell me that after 20 minutes the plugs was still to hot to touch??? I dont know how the plug didnt f**king melt if he kept the oxy on it for long enough to get it that hot. I would near bet that the alloy the plug is made from is not exacly in ideal condition after a fight with an oxy -
Spark Plug Electrodes Gone Through Engine.. Repairable?
tm_r33 replied to jarrod83's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yes the fact that after he heated them up to more than twice the usual operating temp, he thought it would be wise to cool them down quickly with carbi cleaner. This keeps getting worse. Heating and cooling them like that would of cause the metal to harden beyond working order. They would have been that brittle im surprised u got them back in the car with out them breaking first. Im honestly concerned that some one in the automotive industry wouldnt know about heat fatigue or thermal shock or hardening of metals. And if he thinks emry cloth is a suitable answer to scratches in the bore u need to remind him its not a 50 hp atmo engine in a bucket of shit. -
16x8 Offset +53, On The Front Of R32 Gtst
tm_r33 replied to clip14's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
lol bad offset for a skyline. To be completly honest that offset is probably more suited to say a pulsar. You will want spacers. Even if the wheels fit they will not be the best looking fitment. Yer about +38 is factory i think. I run 30 mm spacers behind my 9.5 +38 driftecs currently -
Spark Plug Electrodes Gone Through Engine.. Repairable?
tm_r33 replied to jarrod83's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
and if i was for some reason trying to clean up old plugs i would probably go for a nice soft copper wire brush or a clean rag even. Perhaps and ever so small amount of spray on degreaser on the rag??? -

so what is the tuner saying caused the plug failure??? I would be telling him to cough up for a rebuild. Is this guy well established or just a backyard bob? Im assuming if he has a dyno he must have a farely established workshop? Is he a qualified mechanic? I still cant get my head around why anyone would try to clean used plugs with an oxy. Copper plugs are so so cheap. He should be putting new plugs in cars and not attempting to clean used one? To me it sounds about as silly as putting the hose in your throtle body to wash out your engine. Or putting detergent in your radiator to clean up the cooling system. -
Spark Plug Electrodes Gone Through Engine.. Repairable?
tm_r33 replied to jarrod83's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ummm wtf cleaning the plugs with oxyacetaline is bizzar. Im not surprised that they broke. They would of been extreamly brittle after being punished with an oxy.. I use butane or lpg when needing to heat things and mapp gas if i do need some extra heat. Oxy is far too hot unless u litrally want to weld/melt shit. And just how exactly did he think that blasting something with well over 2000 degrees was the propper way to 'clean' it. -
well yer there will be some fabrication i imagine. u will have to work out which crossmember and engine mounts and then if u run the ls1 gearbox u will have to work out the gbox crossmember and perhaps custom tail shaft. or if u wanted to use a nissan box u would need to find some sort of bell housing adaptor.
-
yer the fact u didnt mention that power steering wasnt working before the lock bar install changes everything lol. there is a steering agle sensor behind the steering wheel. there is a vehicle speed vs steering calculation done withing the hicas control unit.. so faulty unit. u could have low steering fluid. your power steering pump might have shit its self. i think from memory there is a plug behind the headunit thats related to steering angle sensor or speed sensitive steering... if its unplugged u loose power steering.
