my skyline is registered as a 2007 model from memory. thats the year it was complianced. rego stick says "2007 Niss Car"
-
so any one know of a TB that fits greddy plenum and s2 plugs?
-
Rb engines actually rotate in the opposite direction to most. This means that the inertia of the reverse rotation will cause conrods to loosen after a while. Can be fixed with "nulon stay done up ya bastard"

I just assumed all these q45 TB I see on ebay was dodgy after market replacements for the q45. I didnt think they was genuine. And if I use one that means I need to rewire it cause s2 plugs are different and so is the pin layout. I was hoping someone made a plug and play sort of throttle body for series 2.

Mohsen is right. It creates cavatation within the cooling system. Every time your tacho lights up, the oxygen particles in ur cooling system colapse rapidy causing extream wear to the walls of the water galleries. A way around this problem may be to disconnect your brake booster and go for a high speed drive. Let us all know if this solves your problem. And if you are in dick smith asking about the power seperating flux capacitor you need to ask them for a blue one. The blue ones contain a more stable anti protein. Nissans respond better to this type of flux capacitor

Thanks for the info jack88. so by the sounds of it I should be searching for an r 34 gtt throttle body? Do I uee sr20 or ca18 s13 throttle cable? Ia also dont like the idea of the spindle being poxy and having play on cheeap items so it lools like ill have to buy jap which I bet will cost an arm and a leg. Any local options? Thanks for the offer nytsky but im after an 80mm item. Will an aftermarket Q45 TB fit my wiring or do they suit S1 r33?

If u do have some seized studs loctite make a freezing agent in an aresol can that I found helpful on exhaust studs. When u spray it into a snapped stud the stud shrinks because the spray has a contact temperature of minus 30 degress. Made seized studs great to get out. Shrink it. Wd40 it. Shrink it. Wd40 it and then start winding the ezyout. Obviously drill ur hole first though

R33 Diff Ratios For R32
tm_r33 replied to Josh_TypeX's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Both models have the same bolt pattern on the half shaft/drive shaft. Now I assume t he spline count is the same also. If some one can clarify that the half shafts are the same length in both models then you could possibly just swap rear cover plate and use two large washers and rubbers bushes at the front of the diff. If half shafts are different lengths then they might be able to be swapped for the 32 items. -
R33 Diff Ratios For R32
tm_r33 replied to Josh_TypeX's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Lol this sort of question comes up every week. The manual 33 gtst diff will have a ratio of 4.1:1 just incase u didnt know. to change to this ratio you cant just put the 33 center in the 32 housing. The 33 crown wheel on the 33 center is matched to the pinion gear in the front of the housing. pulling pinion out is a pain and if you dont have a press and cant afford bearings and seals I wouldnt bother. Im sick of playing with f**king skyline diffs and I know what im doing. If the cover plate from the 32 diff fits on the 33 housing u could go that way. at the front you could posibly find some bushes to fit the big holes in the front ears on the 33 diff. I dont think u will be able to use 33 bolts at the front because they are 2 mm bigger than 32 from memory. All make sense? -
Hey all. Im currently finishing off the new engine for my track car. The car is a series 2 r33 gtst and its a rb25/30 not that it should make a difference though. I have a greddy manifold on it and am looking around on the net for a throttle body. I want one that bolts on to greddy manifold as im dont want to weld different flange on like some of the cheap shit requires. Now I have noticed that some of the throttle bodys to suit rb25 and greddy plenum are specific to series one tps. Now are they meaning that series one and series two r33 have different tps? Or do the mean that the neo rb25 is a series two rb25 and they are calling all r33 gtst engines a series one rb25. I know of a few differences between s1 and s2 r33 gtst rb25 but havnt noticed the tps being different. Can some one tell me where they have bought an 80mm inside diameter TB that suited a greddy or greddy style plenum and interfaced correctly with their tps and throttle cable etc in a s2 r33 gtst

hi there. Just thought id mention its forum policy that u post a pic upon starting a newbie thread.
-
Also make sure you do some more burnouts to run new engine in. kicking the clutch regularly and changing road surface mid burnout should do it
-
A cheap flux capacitor from dick smith or jaycar would make it light up with out damaging ur engine also
-
Not unless u install a low voltage power seperator
-
Will have negative effects on the engine mate. will rob precious power from the spark plugs and car wont run right.
-
I use kellford cams in my 25/30 track car. They are not of huge duration, only 275 from memory but big lift. Over 10 mm
-
If you have any friends witt a twin turbo 300zx ask them if you can look at the engine bay. U will see issue number one... They are a pain in the ass to work on. Issue number two IMHO would be that while the vg30dett does produce some good power and more torque it is offset by the fact the car its self is a bit heavier. And I imagine the after market support for z32 may not be as great as for skyline and silvia

R33 Series 2 Diff Bolts
tm_r33 replied to sogeCEO's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
For reference guys. The backing plate on 32 gtst housing has four bolts. 33 gtst has 2 larger bolts. The 33 gtst housing also has much bigger ears at the front of the housing. Both use 5 bolt half shafts in 5 x 1 comfiguration. The centers are essentially the same and can be swapped. How ever if ur putting the center out of say a mate 32 into your 33 then make sure you use your own crown wheel on his centre. Dont use his crown wheel. Crown wheel and pinion gear are a matched pair in all differentials so u should not going swapping crown wheel. It promotes noise and premature wear. -
i may be wrong here but im pretty sure that... The volumetric capacity of a cylinder head combustion chamber IS measured in cc (cubic centimeters). As can be the ports on either side. Altering the volumetric capacity of the combustion chamber in the cylinder head will affect comp ratio. (taking material from the bottom face of the head (sqaure, deck, plane) will lower the chamber capacity and raise CR... taking material from inside the head chamber will make its capacity larger and decrease CR) The flow of the head is a completely different ball game, and is altered by ...camshaft duration and lift periods ...ramp rate or lobe profile ...valve size ...port geometry (shape, size, direction, surface) LOl but i have only been skimming over this thread between beers and food and tv so i may have read into the wrong posts and this may not be relavant... oh and as far as im aware... the internal port geometry of the rb25 and 26 heads was really quite good. Im nearly certain that the design was great from factory and "how much the head can flow" is not usually the limiting factor.

i think these are retailing for around 800 new guys
