So not intending to hijack this thread or anything, but i need a new RHS xenon assembly, not the lights or ballasts or anything, just the housing. VIN ER34021594. Now I have nissan fast but for the life of me cannot figure out how to tell if this left the factory with xenon lights or if the ones that show up on fast are non xenon. Chris.. your help? lol. Also the part number i pull up 26025 doesn't show up in the part finder thing (I'm prob not using it correctly).
-
RHS headlight still good? If so PM me a price for that delivered to Melb 3081. Cheers

Got a mate who decided to take a couple of pics with his amazing SLR. Here's what i would consider the two best pics.

Can definitely say this isn't normal on auto's as my auto really begins to open up from 3k onwards (no flat spots at all) and I'm also stock (other than spitfires and iridium plugs).

Just an update for anyone who is wondering what has been happening with this... Whiteline have replied and surprise surprise they aren't sure if the R34 GTT part will fit! However, the part they have said should fit is the same as Nath has listed which is BNR11Z which comes with all the required components except the D-Bush saddles (which I'm assuming is the universal sway bar bracket listed in Nath's list). Here is a link to what the whiteline kit contains http://www.rcephotos.com/photos/Whiteline/BNR11Z I'm just about ready to bite the bullet and go ahead with it all, just need to work out a wrecker to get those D-bush saddles from (as they are present on the GTT) and where I can get the swaybar from at the best price.

If yours came optioned with the pop up lcd i'll grab the control unit if its working.

Mark I can understand how absurd it sounds that an R34 of all cars would not have it at standard but I assure you mine does not have one (and yes, I'm not confusing this with a strut brace). At first I thought that the owner in Japan must have removed it but after hours of searching this forum I found one or two others who have also realised they do not have one. Of course there is that possibility that the Japanese owners of all of our cars were deluded and thought it would be a clever idea to remove the sway bar, but if they were that way inclined they wouldn't be driving skyline's in the first place! For anyone who is keeping an eye on this thread I still haven't received a response from whiteline or another suspension/handling mob I've emailed but I'm sure the coming of the working week will bear some fruitful responses.
-
It's amazing how many companies who are supposed to know these things will term interchangeably use any skyline variant. For example the place i took my r34 to get coilpacks and a general service done printed R34 GTS on the invoice. Pretty sure there is no such thing as an R34 GTS! If you can just get the part numbers later on Nath I'll cross reference the whiteline website to see if they are indeed parts interchangeable with the GTR.
-
GTR parts tend to have different mounting points. I believe another member on this forum has found out the hard way after purchasing parts for his na r34 only to find that he requires GTR parts (as the GT-V's have the same 4wd setup). Unsure about r33's but if the r34 is anything to go off I would be pretty certain they are not compatible. Also for everyone else who is interested I've shot off a quick email to whiteline in regards to the NA R34 compatibility and what's additional components are required (if any). I'll post up their response once I've received it.
-
Ah Nathan you've had some fitted? I'm aware you have a sedan but do you know what was required in order to fit the swaybars? Did you just use the same part numbers at the turbo and it was more or less plug and play or did you have to add anything else that the NA was missing?
-
After having a look at the various threads on people replacing their OEM swaybars with thicker whiteline one's and the overwhelming positive response they receive I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to do the same with my NA R34. I'm not sure if it's just my car, but it appears that the NA R34 coupes did not come with a rear swaybar as standard!!! So my question is, if this is the case, has any other n/a r34 owners fitted rear swaybars to their cars? If so what are the parts required (other than the swaybar duh), any modifications required to fit and approx cost? Also what diameter swaybar people went with and the part # would be an excellent help to me Thanks in advance to those who respond... Resh Oh and before anyone says "do a search"... I have and can't find any info on NA R34 swaybars. After learning of differences in suspension set ups between the n/a and turbo's I thought I'd ask here before dropping a couple of hundred one something that doesn't fit.

I'm after this particularly hard to find (at least one that works) unit. Attached is a picture of the part required. I don't need wiring harness or the actual lcd or anything like that, just this control unit. MUST be in working order!

wishful thinking trying to get a r34 for 12k.... but either way goodluck!

Ah yes I've heard of Le Mans.. I had no idea they did exhaust work there. I'll head down there and see what they can do about my current exhaust once my ankle heals up (did it playing hockey... this clearly hasn't been the best week for me). and again thanks for all the help.
-
Ah yes an earthing strap... that makes sense. Thanks for the help on that one. The funny thing is that the welding in that area is by far the best they've done on the exhaust... I probably shouldn't show you guys the rest of the exhaust or some of you may collapse from disbelief. My letter was very simple, it simply stated what occured in chronological order, then what I would like done to to resolve the issue. I have done some legal subjects at university so I know exactly how to word those letters so it's not like I deserved the reaction I got. I am thinking of taking it to the other exhaust place to get it fixed up.. unless someone here has an exhaust place I should be going to?
-
Consumer affairs here I come! The guy got my letter, told me not to ever come back and go somewhere else ! I also went to another exhaust place, the guy there said the job probably wasn't roadworthy either !! Ah the joys of a custom exhaust... Anyway I've noticed this thing bolted onto the flange of the CAT. Is that supposed to be in that location? If someone would be a dear and check for me under their 34 if its bolted to the outside of the cat it would be greatly appreciated Pic of what I'm talking about is attached..

Thanks for all your help rs73.... I should have come to you before going to them haha. Letter of demand is in the mail, they should receive it tomorrow. I almost want to go back there and talk to the bloke face to face, but he was such a rude pr*#k to me on the phone I'd probably just be wasting my time. I'll write up a post if this ever gets fixed to let everyone know. Thanks again guys!

When it comes to all of this I'm not down with most of the lingo. The only rubber things are those oval shaped holes which the exhaust's fixtures are placed into (hope that makes sense). I noticed the stock exhaust had a big round rubber thing hanging off it? Perhaps this is what you are talking about? If so there isn't anything like that on the new one. And that temp pipe is not the same size as the tips on there now. The temp pipe was 2.25" where as the tips on there now are a lot larger than that, and it goes from one inlet to two tips (so i could retain that stock look). Each tip would be roughly 2" in diameter each.
-
Yeah its got an 18inch resonator in it, i knew with an n/a that i'd have SOME drone but you should hear it, it makes things in my car shake! The only reason i've gone with a custom job was because Jap exhausts for n/a r34's are damn near impossible to come by, and then they are almost always cannons which i wanted to steer clear of. I'd be more than happy to go back and fourth to get things fixed up but if i'm paying more everytime it doesnt seem right as i'm paying for their mistakes essentially. The weird thing is it was fine when it had a temporary pipe coming out acting as the exhaust tip, quiet as anything in the cabin, the smallest almost inaudible drone b/w 2k and 2.4k rpm but once those tips went on it all went sour again.
-
Alright so the story goes I want my r34 to sound a little meaner and opt to get a catback exhaust put in. I go to settlement rd exhaust center (I'm in the northern suburbs and these guys quoted a good price), asked for a 2.25" mild steel system with stainless steel tips and didnt not want any drone. Since they didn't have stainless steel tips one of the guys advised i go to supercheap/autobarn and buy some as they wont affect the sound of the exhaust. Anyway they do the system, it drones like all hell, so they suggest changing the muffler and clamp it on so i can hear it before any welding (keep in mind i had to pay more for this extra muffler). It sounds sweet, almost no drone so i'm happy but they told me to come back to get the tips welded on and such (in the meantime there is a steel pipe coming out of the muffler). I go back the next day, they weld the tips on, I pay the extra amount, drive off and guess what... drone is back and just as bad. So i ring them up and explain, asking if they can fix it/how and they basically tell me to get stuffed and that if i dont pay more they arent fixing anything. Just want to know if you guys think I should be allowed to have it fixed for free considering they didnt say anything about the tips/told me it was fine to use ones from other places. I'm sending a letter in writing to them tomrorow before going to consumer affairs but was just wondering if anyone else has had simmilar experiences/suggestions for me as right now i feel like I've got half a leg to stand on and am unsure if i should even bother. Thanks guys and sorry if i wasnt supposed to mention the name of the business... I just didnt think what I've said amounts to slander?

does that mean you go to melb uni too?! and i live 2 mins from rosanna station.. probs why you saw me near there ! Being spotted by someone from SAU gives me that warm fuzzy feeling hahaha

R34 Skyline Non Turbo Engineered
resh replied to br00xi's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Wow that price is ridiculous! I've got an n/a R34 and this is at least a good $4k cheaper than what it would cost to import. If this was for sale in Melb it would have been snapped up the minute it was at $13,000. Either way good luck with the sale!
