Hey guys just wanting peoples advice about aftermarket ecu's like apexi power f/c ect in compassion to the the retuned stock ecu for my r33 gtst. I know that the power f/c can be easily retuned by most places. But what about other ecu maufacturers like haltec, micro tech ect. I would like to know they're features and your expreances with them and what sort of power gains would i be looking at. At the monment i am running a toshi remapped stock ecu with the following mods, running 10 pound on a stock turbo, 3inch dump pipe into 3.5 inch exhuast runing a high flow cat, a front mount thats it. which is pumping out 181 rwkw this dyno sheet was supplyed from the prevouse owner. I am waking it on the dyno myself tomorrow and i will post up the results thanks scottie

yeah man its running good and i dont believe its the vct solenoid and it has only played up when shifting from first to second and its just doey as but its going good so far i just havent had time to look at it probley. I scrap the idea of me coming on the curise i leave for the raaf on the 13th

Hey guys i just bought a r33 gtst seriers to and i just wanna know the procedure on how to fit a VCT solinoid or would it be easyer to buy a complete VCT unit and replace the hole lot cheers

hey mate this might sound strange but this happened in my ford fairmont 5L the alternator rectiffer unit inside the alternator heated up and arched out and instead of producing DC current that all cars run on it was producing A/C current coursing all sorts of strange electrical shit, no power no responce, no shifting of gears, gauges chucking a spaz ect. Also have you changed your fuel filter ? Have you played with the igintion timeing advanceted it to much and the knock sensor is picking up pinging and coursing the problem Check the knock sensor as well theres acouple of things that may course it

hey guys i am in the process of buy a r33 gtst and i noticed that it had a plasticy tappy sound just above idle. Above like 2000 rmp its fine and at idle its fine its just in a short area of the rev range. I spoke to the car yards mechanic and he recond that the was another 3 r33's with the same noise. Its hard to discribe the sound as its not one i have heard before. The mechanic reckoned it was a common noise but havent seemed to find a cure for it as yet last thing they where trying was swaping crank angle sensors for some reason god knows how a crank angle sensor would course a plastic tappy sound unless it was hitting the sensor wheel which would stuff it any thoughts anyone. Dosent sound nasty its just there cheers scottie
