  1. Yeah I remember using Chips Away before, think they did a decent job, just wondering if there were others out there. Thanks all.
  2. Hi All, My car's bonnet has several chips from stones. It looks like it has been touched up at one stage, but if you look closely, they didn't quite match the paint and they didn't fill in the chips. Anyone know of any good places to get my bonnet repaired so it looks like new? Thanks!
  3. Cool thanks! I'll give them a call. I'm located east of the CBD.
  4. Hi, Can someone please recommend a reputable place in Adelaide to get my car tint removed, pass thru regency, and then re-tinted? I'm looking for a top quality place please, no bodge jobs Cheers!
  5. I've talked to this guy and the price isn't very negotiable. He's supplied the VIN, I've put it through Nissan FAST and I can confirm it is NOT a vspec. I don't know why he claims it to be one, it doesn't even have a vspec sticker in the very least. No front/rear diffuers...etc. I suspect he got sold it as a vspec and got rolled, so now wants to sell it as one. It's a 1999 non-vspec model, 2000 models should have black seats not grey. Oh, and I also pointed out the fact that I put his car through Nissan FAST and suggested that his car is not a vspec, hoping he'd negotiate the price. NOPE! I was still interested in buying a non-vspec car, but he won't budge. Seems overall dodgy to me.
  6. actually, i am here i have been looking at local GTRs for a few months now. a few interest me, but the price isn't right. there's a blue one, which is advertised as a 2000 vspec but i've checked the VIN and it's a 1999 non-vspec. owner still wants $52k for it though, which is way too much for it in my opinion. i dunno why he's selling it as a vspec, maybe he mistakenly bought it as one? http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/privat...id=10F3995EFE23 then there's a 2001 vspec2, but it's pearl white. $54k. still holding out on it as i really want a blue one. i've been looking a bit on japanese auction sites. most of the GTRs I see are either black, white or silver. not many blue ones or even purple ones go through. ideally i'd love a blue one, followed by a purple one. guess the search continues...
  7. Anyone know if these are still available or where to buy a replacement screen from?
  8. Hi, I am looking at an R34 GTR that has a faulty MFD - it has two vertical lines running down it. Does anyone know where to get a replacement item from? How much do they cost? Thanks!
  9. Hi All, I've been looking at an R34 GTR that has supposedly done about 50,000kms. Is there a way to gauge from a car how many kms it's done? From the wear on the front seat? Anything else? What should it look like having done 50,000kms? I know it's a hard question, but thought I'd put it out there. I know these things are hard to tell. Cheers!
  10. Hi All, Thinking of getting a car mechanically inspected before I check it out. The car is in North Ryde, NSW. Can anyone recommend a good place to get a GTR mechanically inspected? Compression Tests...etc. Also, what tests should they be doing? Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the reply. Are you able to tell me the difference between the pink and yellow plates? What's the difference between private and personal imports? Aren't imports nowadays under SEVs?
  12. Hi All, I'm enquiring about a car I'm interested in and the owner believes it has a pink coloured compliance plate. I thought most were yellow? Can anyone shed light on what the different compliance plates that are out there? I think the car was privately imported last year. The car is currently registered in NSW. Thanks!!
  13. Hi, Could you please verify this VIN? BNR34-003026. Thanks!
  14. Yes, local ones seem cheaper than imports, but I really want a blue R34 Import for $33k? Where? Most cars from Jap Auctions go for easily over 2.5M yen and that's at least $45k+ landed, complianced + ORC.
  15. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has checked out this R34 GTR at SSV. http://www.southernspecialvehicles.com.au/...cle-search.html If so, are you able to tell me about the condition of the car? Cheers!
  16. Thanks for the info. So where does one get access to this "Nissan FAST" to verify the VIN of the GTR?
  17. True, though I'm not sure it's a VSpec1? It does have the front diffuser but I've read that the dash (speedo) is that of a Non-VSpec GTR? e.g the revs 0-3,000rpm are still even spaced. I've read that the VSpec rpm from 0-3,000 is closer together. So much confusion over GTRs
  18. Ahh interesting. I didn't know the 2000 model VSpec1 didn't have black cloth seats, only the 2000 model non-VSpec1's had them? Yeah the black ones do look better than the grey.
  19. Doesn't V-Spec I have front and rear diffusers too? So no difference there. What do you mean by black cloth seats? I know the 2000 model R34 GTRs have black seats vs the grey seats of 1999 models. Is this what you're referring to?
  20. Hmm, I've since found out that the car is an "REPV import". WTH is that? First time I've heard of it. Unfortunately, REPV imports can't be registered in NSW but can be in other states such as VIC or QLD. Anyone know much about REPV imports?
  21. Serious? Race and Rally only? Then how can I get it registered in SA as a road vehicle? The plate only has the VIN and says that it was imported and complies with the Motor Vehicles Act 1989. It's a black coloured plate. I was then later given a sticker to put in my car door with reason "no compliance plate". I'm not exactly sure why I was given this sticker by Transport SA.
  22. Hi, I have a Lancer EVO 4 that I bought off a guy in Melbourne in 1999. The car is a 1997 model. I am now trying to sell the car and realised that the car does not have a proper "compliance plate". It does have a black coloured plate that says that the car was imported and that it meets the Motor Standard Act in 1989. This plate does have the VIN of the car but nothing else. I'm now trying to sell the car to a guy in NSW and he's told me the car can't be registered there. I'm now trying to work out under what scheme the car was imported. I'm aware that private imports or RAW imports should have a proper plate. But for some reason my car doesn't? My car is currently registered in SA. Anyone know why the car doesn't have a plate or under what scheme it could be imported under? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
  23. Thanks for the feedback. Only problem is that I'm looking for a blue one which seem hard to come by in my price range. Most are either silver, black or white. I've been looking at importing and I think locally is actually cheaper, but importing has a lot more to offer.
  24. For those who have bought R34 GTRs, can you tell me your experience with buying local or importing? I like how there is a large selection of cars to be imported, but the only problem is you can't get them mechanically inspected (e.g compression tested). Do you find this is a big factor? Say you're going to spend $40k to $50k on an R34 GTR. Anyone here who has imported a car and it didn't arrive as you'd hoped? Any stories/feedback is welcome Cheers!
  25. Does anyone know where I can get these front side ducts to mod the standard R34 front bar?
