  1. Seen a dark red 34 p plater at the bp on heathcote road in moorebank, few minutes later a black 32 as i was leaving both around 1:30pm
  2. Bob was asking about sau nationals, September is skyline nationals organised by classic skylines Australia (it is confusing a bit isn't it)
  3. That's about all i read
  4. im already entered into this, didnt know it was advertised on sau (something about there was an issue with the last one and SAU-Vic didnt think CSA should call it skyline nationals or some shit, honestly dont care as long as i get track time )
  5. why do you beleive you need such a larger stud of that size? I've machined dedicated drag RB's which did 8 second passes running on methanol, 2 x 50 shots of nos and 40+ psi and they used just 12mm ARP studs
  6. heat from welding may have distorted the block, so if there is the slightest twist then the tunnel may not be in line, which is why a line bore/ hone is done, if it is not, and the alignment is out then the crank may rotate at an awkward angle and force it to flex and vibrate, and or seize material hardness effecting the drilling... to make it easier get a drill bit guage and then sharpen the drill head to match the angle recommended for the material your drilling into
  7. wtf did WMDC35 say? seriously had better, unwanted conversations, with smacking out drug addicts, that made more sense then that lol removing the turbo from rb20s is about as usefull as tits on a bull
  8. Some collars i have seen on ask for 2 thou crush, we prefer a bit more then that
  9. We use the nitto collars grind the crank area, and "shrink" them on, then grub screw for extra security
  10. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/378823-engine-internals-comp-ratios-general-info/page__fromsearch__1 that is a link to some info i wrote up a while ago, it has the correct formular to work out your static compression ratio as the rb heads have a tappered chamber, and how much was taken off each time it was ground will vary or "how long is a piece of string?" Do a compression test and post the results, some forum users on here may be able to tell you a rough area on where your comp ratio is with that for my motor 10.75:1 i get 225-230psi dry comp 240 wet comp test
  11. Yeah ill purchase one to frame soon
  12. I braked before the turn, down shifted which unsettled the car as well as didn't aim for the other apex in that spin, 2nd gear with the Vl box is a little too 'happy' But yeah thanks for the tip, still learning what does and doesn't work
  13. what material is the extra piece? What material weld was it? If neither are cast iron it won't work How was it welded? If an oven was not used then it will crack and split Though A for effort and trying something different
  14. Posting for updates ( i was thinking of this idea so one fuel rail and tank for e85/flex and one for 98)
  15. 40-45ft pound on all rb mains or 54-61nm (with moly assembly lube) Straight out of acl bearing catalog
  16. This plus oil pressure test then post up results and we can go from there
  17. Sorry i ment the url at the top of the page
  18. Copy and paste the url inside the media tags, not the link in the "share video" link
  19. I think the main issue is people are scared, i admit i was one of them scared of putting car on track before its ready (honestly cars are a never ending and never finished project) but i have now set a bench mark to beat next time Scared of breaking something - no one spun a bearing this time, though i did spin a cam gear without damage to anything other then the gear itself scared of embarrassing myself with not looking like schumacker my first time - we all must start somewhere and there was plenty members who were happy to help out the new guys and we all laughed off the f**k ups In short its not as bad and is more fun and addictive then people think
  20. My brake fade was only from having a stock 31 master with gtr brakes
  21. Just want one atm but they are pricey even at my price
  22. No thank you for paying to have my track cherry popped
  23. And driving past the pit wall (I wasnt aloud to stand any closer ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtvJOIyA6wU Was fun, will do it again with more sleep the night before hand, though I think I done some damage when I hit limiter in 3rd in one of my last few laps today did a compression test 1 225psi 2 227psi 3 220psi 4 220psi 5 235psi 6 240psi the fuel had sealed 5 & 6 and acted as if it was a wet test, and hour later, 225psi on 5 & 6 plugs were fouled up pretty hard, CAS was a tad loose I got new plugs - no change Leak down test - 4% on all with 5% on #6, leaked past rings, had oil mist come through breather and oil filler cap Oil pressure - only had imperial fittings so not able to check Checked the timing, it looks like the intake cam and CAS went full retard (never go full retard, tom hanks, looked retard, act retard, could play ping pong, not retard) I played around with it and I think I've got it close to how it sounded in the originally, ticking noise left after adjusting the CAS, squeel has disapeared after top timing cover came off Will need to go back on the dyno to get it perfect again
  24. Friday night I chucked the 4.11:1 ratio 1.5way mechanical kaaz in with some bushes, found out at the end I only had enough lower control arm bushes to do one side, passenger side got left out But yeah one of my customers paid for me to go track day so I got some practice before nationals big thanks to HKS26T http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iJP9XUrF6U I need better tyres and skills (which will come in time) my personal best is 1:29.7 Steve got a best of 1:23.2 Steve showing me the racing line and where to brake and turn (I'll get there one day) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9ugzV-oaVQ
