Hi All, Has anyone tried a power chip in their skyline ? : http://cgi.ebay.com.au/15BHP-Power-Mod-Chi...1QQcmdZViewItem Would they be useless? or has anyone seen any benefits?
-
Hi All, In theory, what would happen if you didnt have any BOV ? for example, if the intercooler hole which normally fits the bov was welded shut? would damage happen straight away, or would the car still be drivable? etc etc. just curious is all

Detailing Workshop Before Marques In The Park
rbee25 replied to Michele's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Ok, I dont want to get into a great debate about "how to detail a car", however I agree with JD-33 Meguiars Tech wax is a wax and not a polish i.e. it is used to apply a protective wax film on your paint, and not cut hence polish your car. I think JD is saying that by using the words "polish" you are contradicting the product name "wax" and hence its purpose. I first polish my car which removes light scratches and brings up the paint work and then use wax to seal the job of the polish. I dont know about the windex stuff, but I have heard that certain products can actually corode your tint. I have also read on the back of the Meguiars window spray that it says "Safe to apply to tint"; windex doesnt seem to say this. just my 2c -
all, Just wondering what gain you set on you Greddy profec B spec 2 controllers?? I have heard too little and ou dont get maximum spool up of your turbo, and too much , and you get spikes.. I understand that it differs from turbo to turbo so I'm wondering how much gain ppl set for a stock turbo on an R33. cheers.

after having VMX80 in my GB for a little over a month now, the gears were starting to feel real notchy.. It was great at the start (and made morning whine go away), but after a month felt like sand in my GB. The other day I put in Redline Shockproof lightweight in, and what a difference!! WOW. although its quite pricey, the GB feels sooo smooth between changes now, cant believe it. Defn recommended.

All, Just want to get a poll on what ppl use in terms of Gearbox Oil. A poll would be easier to read than the 'Goods on Oils' thread. cheers Rbee25

Install Of Greddy Profec B-spec 2 On Rb25det
rbee25 replied to Wink's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
thanks for the input birnie, much appreciated.. i was wondering if splitting a line which is "in-use" could be done, but now to think about it, the pressure should be equivalent in any of the hoses which come off the plenum .. cheers mate -
ahh cheers Naman, yeah it seems like a trek to syd for a day would be on the books,, maybe ADVAN .. ? cheers for ur 2c

has anyone here had their power fc tuned in canberra?? if so , where abouts and at what price ..? i heard autotech can tune them, however I am not too sure about price?? also, is it necessary to have the hand controller of the power fc for it to be tuned at a workshop? cheers.. Rbee25

Install Of Greddy Profec B-spec 2 On Rb25det
rbee25 replied to Wink's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
hi guys, i am trying to install the profec b onto my 33.. I am up to the part where you connect the hose (from the plenum) to the main profec unit.. one problem: if you see the attached photo, of what its suppose to be when finished: I.E. - This photo is located at near end of the plenum, next to the wiper washer bottle. - The bottom hose with the filter attached goes to the main control unit inside the cabin. - Other hoses are put together simply as shown. On the bottom hose (with the filter) I already have a hose in this place which goes to my boost guage inside the cabin.. how would i get around this to also connect up the profec line (as its suppose to be in the pic) ?? should I slice another T section .. ? :S any help would be great, especially from those who have this installed with a boost guage.. cheers. -
cheers GTS4WD, do you tend to "cover" up your air pod when spraying high pressure? hmmm degreaser, here i come
-
thanks ali, i suppose i could tie off a platic bag over the air pod, but would the factory "coil pack cover" be sufficient in keeping water out? If not, i will probably just not spray the head of the motor and do that part by hand .. any others have any means of cleaning the engine bay (i.e. tips) cheers
-
Hey All, I need to clean my engine bay soon as it is becomming real dirty.. Just wondering if any of you out there use the car lovers high pressure sprayer to clean it? or it this not advised? I was watching a few youTube clips about engine detailling and they all pretty much use a high pressure sprayer or hose.. Would or could this affect electrical components in a liner? just want to hear if (or how) people clean it.. ( i kinda want to stay away from the hard method of rubbing everything) thanks Rbee25

thanks moonus,, i was just looking through there and found a few S1 ECR33 controllers.. would these suit, (even though I have a S2) ?? cheers
-
ok thanks for the advise guys . It seems I will be going with the PFC for now then, and as yousay, if I "thrive" more later, I will have the computer to handle any extras. Hmmm,, now the hard part.. Where to find those scarce PFC's these days thanks again Rbee25

Hi, I am new to SAU so howdy all I have recently bought a 97 GTST S2 with the following mods: Large FMIC, Tein Coilovers, HKS AirPod, turbo back exhaust, manual boost controller (10psi), and HKS BOV; (so relatively light mods). I am wondering whether to go for a Hi-Flow GCG turbo, or a Power FC. My aim is to get roughly low 200rwkw's (would be very happy with 220). (Obviously on a bit of a budget) I am very keen to get my turbo hi flowed, but would this be a waste since I do not have an aftermarket ecu, injectors, and fuel pump? Would these stock items be able to handle the GCG turbo upgrade (with say 12- 15 psi) ? any help would be great Thanks Rbee25
