  1. MItch you say "She's worried about service costs and the availability of parts for a car that was imported and never sold in dealers from new, especially since Stageas aren't very common." Well the same could be said about R33's. I've had my 33 for 12 years now, and the reliability of that is what made me consider my Stagea when looking for another car. (Well I didnt even consider anything else to be honest!). Thinking back to the mid 90's when the 33's were slowly trickling into the country, and some of them $40k+ in yards, not a lot was know about them, and they proved themselves. Sure they had the odd problem, as with ALL cars, fuel pumps, turbos, body bits falling off, etc but they were sorted without too much drama. A lot of info was shared through forums like this, and people learnt what and where they could get bits from. Today the world is even smaller with online shopping commonplace and parts importers like Import Monster and the like making it even easier. (There werent many parts importers around back in the mid 90's I can tell you.) So as with any car purchase, do your homework, get the car checked out, and have a backup plan (a good warranty). Im sure Im not alone when I say Nissan is a brand that we all love & trust. And Im sure she'll love the stagea no matter which one you eventually get. I know I do.
  2. $20 Deposit in case your car is stolen and you lose the sim card. (obviously they want it back @ some stage?) lol
  3. Like Hadouken said, if its got low k's it just for show. We all know these cars are brought to be driven not to be stored like a classic, (except for 1 or 2 exceptions, but not all,) so for a car 15 years + old they cant average 7500km/year. Im 'trying' to sell my 33 and it doesnt have ridiculously low kms like most. My car was a daily driver except for 1 year when I was biking to work then that year it only averaged about 10,000km. High kays scare most people, but I think my car for instance, has proven itself with its reliability and it shows with the "normal" kays its accumlated over the years. Other things to look for is if it has been looked after with regular servicing and quality products as well as what has already been mentioned. The other way to look at it, if they (the cars your looking at) have true low k's you would have to wonder what the (motor/trans) internals are like from all the sitting around they have done with no lubrication and minimal start up and running. Hope this makes sense.
  4. Do you have any pics?
  5. If they are the only problems you havent got much to worry about. Not that you do have anything to worry about when buying a skyline. I replaced my rocker cover gasket and the parts cost me $72 including the bolt seals and cam seals. You may even get away with just tightening the bolts; the ones closest to the exhaust seem to get looser than the ones on the inlet side. It also cost me a bit of my time, prob a couple of hours. Btw my skyline is for sale, but its a series 1 1994 model if your intersted.
  6. for that guys. Im not registered on IM so I cant search too well. The second one with the glass looks like a bargain, but would hate to think what the frieght would cost.
  7. Can anyone tell me what brand this roof spoiler is, as I want to get one, price permitting, and where I could find one? I believe there maybe a few variants of this type which mount flush & low onto the roof. Brand names appreciated.

  9. Yes Im pretty happy with it, seeing my 33 used around 12-13l for the same driving. I s'pose the extra gear and more efficient engine helps.
  10. Well after much very light driving, I managed to put in 73L! for a total of 692km's travelled averaging 10.54L/100km mostly suburban/city commuting (I was quietly hoping for 75L judging by the amount of k's I did) I travelled a further 18kms after the trip computer display read **** range left before filling up again. Quite an errie feeling having the **** showing with no safety margin left to rely on knowing that at any time my travelling could come to a not so sudden stop.
  11. Which fuel light are you referring to? The one on the Dash above the fuel gauge or the one on the centre trip computer/green leaf? Thanks
  12. Hey guys Just wondering if anyone knows from first hand experience what the actual fuel capacity is of the pm35 350rx wagons is? I have seen info stating online and in a M35 manual stating its 80 litres but the most I can ever get into my pm35 is 70l (and thats not running dry but I assume would be close to it). Thats with both fuel lights on and the distance to empty showing 19km left. Can any pm35 owners tell me what the most you have put into your pm35?
  13. Any tv unit, as long as it picks up aussie tv signals and outputs to NTSC
  14. I brought mine off J-spec, who got Northshore to comply it for me. Get in touch with Ben @ J-spec [email protected] who may have some plates available if you buy a car through him. Just another option.

  16. 3 days huh? now i feel bummed. Maybe oz shifted further south when I wasnt standing up! But mine was posted on a friday so maybe that would explain the extra 2 days.
  17. My Stagea averages 9.2km/l around adelaide city traffic; approx 30km trip to work. Thats mostly 60km/h stuff and much stop-start as well. Thought I would throw it into the mix seeing they have the same motors, and my wagon would prob be slightly heavier as well. So yes yours is a bit high, more so for highway driving.
  18. Yes it was weird bout the camera being the wrong way, but maybe on the Koleos they are spun around or maybe your right it was just a fault when made. I went for the Koleos camera after much research on ebay and comparing pics, types, dimensions and eventually decided on that one many months ago; I just waited until I got the tuner sorted before I ordered it as I didnt know what tuner I was going to get, hence I didnt know how the camera would connect to it. Some tuners on here used 3.5mm jack, some were rca, so I didnt want to waste money on something that wouldnt connect to the tuner. BTW I know were closer to china than you, but even if I saw you post on the 12th and bought one off ebay that day, it wouldnt of been in oz and fitted to my car within 6 days!! lol. As it was it took nearly 2 weeks to get here, which in comparison to my tuner from kissmegoodbuys bearly took 5 or 6 days! Now that was impressive. Speaking of the tuner, have you managed to get any software/firmware for it as I think maybe if i update it, it might play the hd channels.
  19. I just installed the exact camera setup in my pm35 with the wireless setup. The Koleos lens is the same but when I got mine I had to unscrew the camera and spin it 180 degrees and elongate the hole for the loom otherwise all I would of seen was the tailgate/number plate. Asbks if your wireless setup didnt work you prob got a faulty unit. I got one and it worked straight away; the sender is in the tailgate next to the lh reverse light, and the receiver is tucked in underneath the tv tuner,(which as a matter of interest I also got from kissmegoodbuys) which is in the lh compartment behind the little door,. (speaking of the tuner, do you have sound which wont play on just a few hd channels? I queried the seller bout this and they tell me the manufacturer claims there is a patent on receiving hd sound in australia which they dont have!!!??? WTF!!!
  20. Firstly it sounds like you either haven't got all the necessary files with the cars, as mine has 188 options, though Im running mine off a dvd. Secondly if you enter a 'model series' it takes away the cd button on mine. If you mean the buttons below the words 'VIN-code' and 'Model series' then yes they will be blank until you either manually select a model by typing in a model series or selecting a model from the cd icon, then the words 'body' 'engine' 'size' 'drive' etc will appear. BTW R32-R34 are on lines 40-42 and clearing state the model on my version. Make sure you have the correct file in the database and have told fast where to "look" for those files if you have got them on your pc.
  21. Glad to help, and $80 was a good score too! They normally retail new for over $200 easy.
  22. From what I can tell from fast the rb25det + rb26 shared some alternators. So why dont you do what the previous owner did on my car GTS-T and put in a aussie spec bosch unit which is Bosch Part # BXN1231 or it could be a BXN1231A now. Any good auto elec should be able to convert it quite easily, as my mates had his converted on his series 2 33 GTS-T. Then later on when the regulator fails, its a simple and cheap $40ish to get a new one.
  23. Hi The part code you refer to 84902M boot carpet has a part number as shown in your pic link of 84902-04u10, but the other choice it could be (assuming its for your gtr) could also be 84902-04u00, which is probably just the old (superceded) part number. Nissan and other car makers work like that by just changing a digit or two, and sometimes whole part numbers. I dont understand what that would mean by SKU number from fast. The only other thing they could be referring to is your vin of the car so they can check to see if its the right part for your car. 84902m is the 'basic' part number which would tell that what kind of part it is. That part code has 10 options in R32 depending on what car it is. Hope that helps you,
  24. I havent got to doing this on my PM35 yet, but when it had a flat battery a while ago, I could of sworn that I saw the filter once I took the battery out from inside the engine bay! You may not be able to take it out this way but I could definately see it. That was only a matter of 6 or so clips and then remove the battery to expose it. Just my 2c worth, (or should I round it to 5c seeing you cant get 2c anymore )
  25. Good to get on a cruise with similar cars; brings back memories of the skyline days. Good to finally meet some ppl and put faces to names. Bummer about getting lost but I eventually made it to the finally meet spot. Thanks navman lol. Hopefully next time I can bring the family too!
