Hey, My brother has just put a bigger turbo, bigger injectors and a Z32 AFM on his R33 Gts-t. I think the turbo is GT35 size, not sure of the brand. The car hasn't been tuned and the ecu is a Power FC. He was thinking of driving it around tomorrow.... Im thinking that this would be a super bad idea and can damage the engine? So I was wondering if he could drive it at all? Could he drive it if he didnt hit boost? Will it be ok to drive around at low revs, or will it Tick Tick BOOM! Thanks

Thanks for the quick replys Ill get him to call Vic Roads. Would be cool if he could, but im guessing Vic rules will stop him, lol

Cant Edit Posts
R33Matt replied to QWK32's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
WOW this new thing where i cannot edit my Ad, or cannot add a reply is really crap.... Before the sale section was alive and kicking, lots going on, now its dead... I have added 4 replys now to my post, waiting for them to be checked and added, after 4 days, only one reply got added, trying to add more pictures and change of price.. but no, it wont let me, and the "moderators" wont add my new info. If things are gonna be checked, thats fine, but can they be checked quickly and then added!? -
Stock Boost on a R32 Gts-t is 10psi Stock Boost on a R33 is 5psi and then it goes to 7psi at 4500revs or something....

Ive been driving my R33 Skyline daily for around 3 years. Havent been pulled over once I run a HKS Dragger Exhuast which sounds very nice, but it isnt very loud... My brother has a R33 Skyline with a very loud exhaust and has been pulled over around 4-6 times... I think if the car doesnt sound too loud and doesnt have a mega BOV, the cops wont notice as much... I run a BOV, but just dont let it go off near police! lol

Noisey Lifter On Rb25det.. Can I Use A Lifter Additive
R33Matt replied to dave_rb20's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hey Dave, I used mobil 2000 semi as well and got the noisy ticking sound. I did a hot oil change and changed to penrite everyday full synthetic and used one of those "stop ticking engines" bottles. After 1 day the ticking noise went away and engine is running alot better maybe try that out, the penrite is only $55 and I think it's 5w50 -
So i just put in some Red Dash lights and they look great!!! They look very nice and a great vivid Red. Gonna get a Red boost gauge to match now, lol. One thing that sucks is my RPM needle... The Speed needle looks great! and looks like a defi gauge, it lights up VERY bright and looks awesome! but the RPM needle is super dark and doesnt light up at all... Is there another light i need to change to make it brighter? Or is this normal in R33 Gts-t? Thanks

Boost Gauge - Boost Rising Slowly...
R33Matt replied to R33Matt's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
So has no one had any issues with the vacuum line being too long or different sizes??? -
Hey, I bought a Calibre 60mm Boost Gauge about 2 weeks ago and ever since the install I have noticed that it builds boost very slow and is a bit laggy. Im running 10psi and the gauge only gets there when im hitting 6000rpm. I used the boost line that was there from the previous gauge, the size of the line was a lot thicker so had to use a t piece to connect the new thin line with the old one and also blocked off one bit of the T piece. Could this cause the lag and slow response? Would it work a lot better if the new thin line went straight into the engine bay? Any info would be great!

I think White is kind of boring... I have a White R33 and I think it looks great, but if I could re-paint it, Midnight Purple for sure!! lol White is good, but not fantastic, that Blue also looks pretty Mint! I would say either the Midnight Purple or Blue... But for neat stock look the grey would look pretty good. Just my 2 cents

Yeah a pic would be good thanks Ive got a Boost Controller and Turbo Timer when my Ash tray was. So was thinking of putting it either below my deck where the pocket is, or maybe on the dash. With your boost gauge, do you think the 3 strips will leave marks if you took it off? On the dash it would look pretty awesome, but just dont want marks there if i decided to remove it, lol. Also was it easy to put the wiring down the vent on the dash? Thanks

Hey, Ive got a AFC Neo but not 100% sure where i should mount it. Ive been thinking of putting it under my deck where my pocket is, but I would need to make up some kind of metal bracket, unless someone has an idea?? Or I could mount it on my dash. Got a Apexi Stand holder with the double sided tape on the bottom. If i used the double sided tape and decided I wanted to take it off later (for sale value or something) would the tape leave marks on the dash? Any suggestions would be great!! Thanks Matt

Hey, So just the other day my car starting making a new ticking noise. There has always been a small ticking from near the injectors but this is alot louder. When I park next to a car or in a garage its really loud. It just started happening last week. The bearing near my gearbox makes a noise, but this noise is happening even when i push the clutch in. I recorded it on my phone and put it on youtube. Any help with what this is would be great http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_wiuNHqWH4 Im not sure if you can hear it on the vid fully, Oh and the car still runs great, very fast and no issues there. Thanks
-
Or the other option is to get a AFC Neo as a Piggy Back. That would set ya back $400 second hand and then $300 for tune and install. I have one of these at the moment, good if your not going to do heaps of big mods.
-
Hey calum32, I had a R32 Gts-t and got 190rwkw with a few basic mods Get a RB25 Turbo and you will feel a big difference!! Plus a tune and you should see alot more power. But your not gonna get much down low, lol, RB20's love lag, but i kinda liked it lol

Whoops, posted twice, lol

Just was looking at the type of exhausts you can get, and for HKS you can get it for the R33 GTR or R33 Gts-t, so is it possible the guy before me got the GTR type? and thats why its not fitting 100%?
-
Thanks for that , seems like to fix this i will need to get an exhaust place to bend it or make up that bracket. But does anyone know why this has happened? Did the guy before me order the wrong exhaust, like for the wrong model skyline? Surely they all dont do this... My mate has an exhaust on his skyline and it doesnt even go near that bar, goes around it nicely...
-
Oh ok, so you think the exhaust is hitting the ground and its not the other bar? That could be it.. but my car is standard height..hmm, Its HKS Super Dragger exhaust, i would of thought no modification would be needed. To me it looks like the exhaust should be going around that bar, rather than been right up against it. Is it possible this is for a R32 or R34, or does everyone have there exhaust up against that bar?
-
The other day I picked up a few people and actually had people in the back of my skyline! lol, Usually I never have anyone in the back. I started to take off and then heard a loud banging sound coming from under the car. The sound was really loud and made the whole car shake! I had a look under my car on the weekend and it looks like the exhaust is against a bar under the car. Looks like the owner before me has put some rubber between the bars to stop them from banging. I was just wondering if the exhaust should be against this bar? It doesn’t look right to me? Is this the wrong exhaust for the R33? Thanks
-
Nice Vid!! I liked how much power they got with just those mods! Anymore like this? So did the turbo blow becasue it was at 12psi? Or did they turn it up more?
-
Oh true, they might have a metal intake. Makes the flutter noise alot louder!!! lol Plus i noticed mine got louder when i got a Front Mounter Intercooler
-
If you want a cheap and easy way of getting flutter you could use a Coke Can, lol. I did this with my car and it works perfect. You just cut the Can open, take the BOV off, cut the Can to the same shape as the BOV, drill 2 holes in the Can for the BOV bolts, put the piece of Can in between where your BOV bolts onto the pipe and done. The BOV is still on there and all the hoses are still hooked up but the BOV is blocked off. The Aluminium is heaps strong enough to block it off. Oh and you will also need a Pod Filter Have fun!
