But cant they see it? It sits on the window, doesnt it? I'd love 2 get one that sits behind the dash, or behind the front bar with a speaker in the cabin. If I ever got one, Mum would go ape shit! Damn parents... Need to move out.

Disappearing doors are so cool! It'd cost a shit load more than scissor doors though!! I'd love to have scissor doors, they look fantastic and grab everyones attension. Isnt that why we have the Cosmetics and Styling section on the forum? I love them, and can't wait to get them. Altho, I might have to cut a hole in my garage roof to open them...

Cos S15's are cheaper? Or cos he can get a good deal on them? All sorts of reasons really
-
I dont mind them, not too bad. But they seem a little too small, almost like an 17. Maybe white wall them? But definately lower it, thats for sure. Nah, not a bad choice, could be worse imo.

Cut springs: Any height, for free! No springs: Ground scraping, again, free Upgraded springs: $300 maybe? Coilovers: $900 2nd hand, not recommended, $1200+ new More coilovers: Up to and over $5000 Depends on what you want really. First 2 are stupid, dont recommend it unless its a thrashed pig.

I did a search on LS1, but only came up with talk about Commodores. I know it has been done before, and was hoping to talk 2 a few ppl who have done it, or know some info about it. I might not do this, just getting a sense of what is needed and the cost, ect.

I'm trying this now. Dan, how much are your LED's? Tried a spare one that was sitting around the house, lasted 3 seconds before it blew... Now I'm struggling to sind some what would fit. Found one, but if yours are cheaper, I might buy some off you. I live in WA, how much would postage cost?

Thanks Eug. I'm not expecting to be hand fed information, just some info on what I would need. Its generic info really. But $15k is around what I was expecting. Thanks for the quick reply.

^^^ Damn straight!! $2 off each tank!! Oh yeah, I feel like royallty!!

Agreed, change your sump plug washer EVERY time you change your oil, just like your oil filter. The washer is 12mm Internal diametre, 18mm external diameter and made of copper. I bought a pack of 25 from Repco for $12.00, but you can get them from Auto 1 by themselves, but costs over $2, sp if you're going to be changing your oil alot, get the large pack. Yeh, and don't over tighten your sump plug either. It can rip your thread from your sump, and taking off a sump is not fun. Trust me!!!

Were u driving it normally, just accelorating, or did you out ur foot down and it revved up before kicking down? My mate's car did the latter. We all thought it was meant to do that, but he disagreed. He was right, he has to get a new one cos it shat itself. Might be worth looking into.

I dunno, I kinda like them, in a wierd kinda way. But then again we are all different. We modify our cars for ourselves, not each other. Good luck with that, it'll deffinately be one of a kinda with custom tail lights. Or if you are really adventurous, maybe something different altogether? Ferrari lights moulded into the back? Now thats a cool idea...

Hey guys, I know you all hate Commonwhores and V8's, but you cannot deny the power potential they have. I wanted to do something different, so I was thinking about putting a 5.7L GEN III V8 into my car. Eventually I will twin turbo it, but for now I just want to know how much it will cost to put one into my engine bay. It does fit, that has been proved often, so I just need a price. I'm guessing I'll need the following things: -LS1 Engine -New engine mounts -Commodore ECU -Commodore wiring -Custom exhaust system -Commodore manual gear box -Custom gear box mounts -Custom drive shafts Is there anything else I missed? I want to do as much of the work myself to keep costs down. I know about the upgraded brakes for the extra power, and suspension. That will all be done before the conversion, it is just the engine itself that I'm interested in. Any feedback would be appreciated. Rhys

4 door, true. I had a look around for you, but can't find anything. How about converting to 2 door tail lights? Its not a direct bolt on swap, but can be done? Or modify clear 2 door lights to fit in with your 4 door? Other than that, I have no idea

I don't agree. The interior matches the exterior, and draws it all together. But as you said, eash to their own. Nick, do you have any close up photos of the interior painting? I'm interested to see how well it is, because everytime a car comes into work with painted highlights, it looks like shit! I want to do it myself, but being a perfectionist, it must be perfect!

Got a quote to tint my windows today. $350 for somewhere between the darkest legal and limosine. It looks really good. This thread put the idea into my mind, and then I noticed the top of my rear seats were badly faded, and that was it. Should have it on in a few weeks, I'll post pics when it's done. It'll look so much better!

Can you push it through the top? Otherwise, yeah just file it out. -
This may be a long shot, but my mate's car kept doing this, and it was because the throttle cable was too short, so there was too much air in the engine. Although, I always thought if you could stall an auto, you're very talented.
-
Yeh, its not easy. We had to install and remove a sump from a 93 Corola 3 times due to leaks. Took 2 days. Wouldn't do it without a hoist though.
-
I'd do it all myself, but then again I'm a mechanic, so I'd either do it on the weekend, or during the week and pay for me to do it, so yeah. And I get paid shit money, so thats difference between us. Its not that hard really, and saves $85 an hour!!
-
I always use premium, but I'm starting to use Caltex Vortex. Its 98 Octane, and cheaper than BP Premium. BP Ultimate is too expensive for someone who earns just over $200 a week. Damn apprentiship!!
-
I think what they meant was "I cant be f**ked hooking it up for you". Yeah, that sounds about right

^^^ Says the guy who has "To rape and impregnate" in his caption... Haha, but I do agree.

Hey mate, I mite have an empty car, so I'd be able 2 take u. I'll let you know. I'm in Alexander Heights, so not too far. Altho, you might not want 2 roll with me, I drive an almost stock NA R33, far from ur GT-R!! I'll PM you when I know for sure
