  1. wow, didn't expect the thread to go into a full blown argument, but i do appreciate the people that have spoken on my behalf for my choice. As for the rims, they are something i do wan to do when i get around to it, im just getting ideas now. And will check out the GT7's etc like people have suggested and obviously look into diff suspension set ups and cambers etc. A minority of people on SAU have found out now that i have purchased a Cross - Factory Wide body front and rear fenders along with a bomex bodykit and have many "aero" parts such as hoods etc lying around ready to be fitted and painted. Since i have all the parts now and will be building putting it together. I will be moving on towards the performance side of my car. Being that my car is N/A i have contacted Nissan and since then have undergone many calls, and enquiries as to purchase myself a RB26DETT N1 engine and GETRAG Tranny. So my car wont just be a show pony, it will have some balls eventually too and that is my next goal. As for the people that have helped out and contributed (even the ones that just stated opinions) I will be posting a new thread called RB26+GETRAG (something along those lines) to get help on the performance side too. So thanks for everything from the people that helped out and respect my ideas. Ps. Yes i added you GTST to my friends because i did not take offence to your comment, and by replying i hope you didnt either to mine. Hence the request to make sure we are still on the same page, regardless of what rims we like
  2. I've heard as low as 90RwKw I have same model 2 door 25GT 2.5L RB25DE. If you manage to navigate around and find the N/A thread people have posted results before as i got told to go there. the range for RB25DE's go normally from 100Rw up to 115RwKw, some have qouted even 120Rw. As for engine output as you requested i think it is something like 145-152Kw (flywheel rated/engine) Im guessing your RB25DE is stock as a rock. But if your next question is to get that extra 10-15-20Rw, it would be to replace exhaust with 2.5". Replace extractors, then fuel pump, power FC etc to fine tune...probably not worth it. As for true readings on the power its probably around 110 as that is the most frequent reports of 34 2.5L that i know of. Hope this helps.
  3. Cause its a 32 its pretty hard to tell even if it looks immaculate. Its quite easy to refabricate the seats or even strip seats from another well maintained GTR, dashes etc, theres plenty of parts for the 32 in circulation so its best to either take someone that knows skylines very well with you and have a look as well as mechiancs etc the whole shebang. Or if you have a reputable mechanic or workshop you prefer and trust then some private sellers don't mind if you tell them to drop it off at a place (if your seriously intrested in purchasing it) Although im guessing you already would have thought of this? Other than that, the only things you can do yourself, is check for rusting, paint peeling, seat wear, steering wheel wear, carpet wear etc. I'ts tough cause these cars arnt exactly new so even a well kept 32 can still look a bit shabby in stock form. If you have test driven a few other GTR's before or seen a few other 32's in person that would be a good platform to judge the one you wish to purchase since it gives you an understanding to whats a model you stear clear of and whats one youd pick up. As for my own exp i thought i was getting a good deal with my first black R34 until i bought my white R34 and drove plenty of others inbetween that time. The more i drove and saw etc, the more simple the choice was to pick out the better models in the crowd. Although i admit picking out a 34 would be much easier in general than a 32. Good luck.
  4. You would think itd be something like that, theres not much else it could be if its comming from lower areas near the exhaust :S You said you replaced the cat and wasnt that, did they check the piping from the extractors etc? maybe something isn't holding/stuck there. But the word rattling in general is quite broad without hearing the noise for ourselves...is it a deep rattling noise? A tinny rattling? I don't know much myself but if it doesn't happen when your idling but happens around 40km/h and continues it could just be that a section of piping is loose and not held in place properly, and when more pressure is passing through, the noise therefore occurs?? I could be waaaay off the mark. Goodluck hope you get it resolved soon!
  5. That'd be the general idea, i'd hope people would wanna do that when they see my car. But then again i wouldn't wanna clean my car after each show....
  6. I prefer my fiance in the terms of sexual preference thanks, as for prefering the actual company i keep, that would be my mates which mostly happen to be guys...so yeh i technically do prefer the "company" of men over women. And ill take it the 22" was prior exp and that you just checking out to see if i was worthy of some male bonding with you. Plus whats the big deal with 20" rims...i wouldnt put em on when i was driving anyhow, but everyone has their own tastes etc. For example, personally i don't like massive chrome rims, its just personal preference. The way i see it 20" TE's visually will look better standing still at show rather then 18x9"s or 17x8's which are practical for driving and looks in general. The extra diameter on the 20"s give it a 'engineering appeal' when fitted correctly and they sit flush with the guards of the car they set it apart from others Then again most people don't see things as aesthetically as i am with my OWN car :S People set the canvas for their cars how they see fit, to some it may not appeal, to others it might be an innovation they wouldn't have thought would look good until it had been done. Thanks to the people that could help me on the matter anyhow.
  7. Sumed up my whole two post rant in one line lol.... Hes right, if you even go for something small like a new intake for air etc, you'll find you wanna do the exhaust next, then the extractors...then say youll stop ...but then something else arises etc etc..its the worst bug you can get and right now i have it! Trust me its when i say it really drains your pocket... a nice cheap 34 can end up being more costly than both the Z and the V35 put together! So make sure you definately know what your after out of the 3....considering the 3rd one chucked in being the V35 is probs all round better than the 350z in all departments, so it would be more like considering V35 or R34...
  8. I don't know if that was in reference to me but if it was, it was at lights both from standstill he asked me to run him i said ok, i driven his car before and i feel that my car drives better (maybe cause im used to it). He definately gave it a go cause he asked me after what i had done to car and when i said it only had 2.5" exhaust and some wider tires (namely 245 front and 265 rear) he just laughed and went wth, then he stated his car might be stuffed. That was first and only time i have dragged at a set of lights and against a v-tec car. So i just assumed they wernt so good but hearing people's statements i assume there really was something wrong with his car. But like i said i dont know if that was directed at me or not... so sorry if it wasnt! But then again i've had stock GTST's ask me to run them from start and i have stayed with them the whole way to 120K until they just shit on me. done same with a GTiR and a Soarer that was definately turbo im guessing single. Maybe i got lucky with a good engine? lmao i don't know but even mates say it takes off too well for a non turbo car...i havn;t done anything to it either other than exhaust and tires... :S Then again Kris's R33 with only 190Rw shat all over my car from start to finish so maybe there is just a number of cars out there that arnt looked after well I do wanna dyno my car and see wha it makes out of curiosity even though i know it wont be much...but theres just something about the way it goes...its done 36 thousand Legit k's i got lucky with it very good condition compared to other Skylines i have seen and also replaced the clutch cause i learnt manual on it from scratch with no help and let othe rpeople drive it at round 32K and sorta blew one day...woops... And i have driven much higher powered cars before so it snot like i have just driven this and im making some sort of deal about it...
  9. Well if you have ever heard of Autosalon, then you'd understand what the wheels would be for Also i wasnt planning on driving on them like most people said and for 2300 bucks i wouldnt plan on buying them either, i just wanted to know if it was for one rim or not. I was looking at 19" LMGT4's and the 20" TE37's caught my eye, for show use when i put my wide body n try entering it next year etc. As for yur loling tell CGHOST R33 and the GHOST Skylines cars that are at Autosalon why they have 20"s on their cars or why anyone at any show changes their rims Too many people jump to conclusions here without actually helping out or contributing. I have some decent/affordable 18x9's on my R34 coupled with 235 front and 265 rear Kuhmo ECSTA SPT's and they do the job damn well.
  10. (Edit: Just realised you said Integra, i mentioned it was a VTiR...assuming VTiR's are all Preludes? not Integras?) Was Only genuinely asking if there was something seriously wrong with his car, he left the line before me and i still caught him and got half a car in front of him without too much problem. We were just having a bit of fun. But what i was saying was to be adressed to the start of this topic, if you read the thread it was about honda boys talking up that they COULD beat GTR's hence this does belong like you said with those type of threads cause it is one! if you read other comments within this thread there are more that say the same thing. I don't think my N/A is a fast car, i think its a reliable car and a platform to move from. I only asked in reason why hasnt there been many magazines etc in past years that hailed the V-Tec's as a performance car. Why hasnt their been a touring group of them? Other than NSX in super GT etc... I would pressume they are just like every other car, nothing too special, but has its good/bad points like most other cars, there are few breeds of cars that have an outstanding balance of quality and hit a good point in manufacturing with several great qualities. I do personally believe GTR's were some of those cars i believe older model Ferrari's such as the likes of the F40's etc cars like Porsche 911's blah blah are types of cars that have that refinement and balance (Not talking aboout power here). So my question was...is the 'V-Tec' engine in the many cars its been placed in so great? As for the video i watched it, and that Integra is great, good for him i hope he continues to hold the Honda name for their sake, cause people like that are why Honda has a decent reputation. As for the whole wake up and become a honda fan boy, yeh well i got carried away i personally wouldn't buy one, thats my preference, my realitive goal is to someday own a new model GTR BNR34 and above, i already am in the processes of contacting Nissan to purchase a RB26DETT from them for my N/A and build this car so i am on my way. So im not a honda bashing person saying skylines are better i just think in MY OPINION that Skylines are a better option especially the later models. But then again what did you expect from a thread like this on a Skyline site? If you expected one of the younger Sau members (like myself) to say honda's are the best thing and defend them here well then your clearly in the wrong forums. Thought id try and clear that up for you, sorry if it was a tad long
  11. Yeh i agree to an extent but its a show, and its made for ratings, im quite sure they don't give a shit about the little people that get the consequences of their acts passed onto. But then again these shows do specify that you shouldnt attempt to try any of the driving acts/stunts they perform. That being said, im a p plater aswell and wether the shows on or not, what i do behind the wheel is influenced by myself and MYSELF only. As for other people that do get influenced by this stuff they just simply shouldn't be watching it, or at least (like yourself) should have a figurehead that corrects the younger people watching, hence we have the rating PG lol. But your definately right, they probs woulda got slandered with parents and rating whores emailing and calling the station regarding the show's content. Ahh i feel like a grandpa too now! I only just turned 20! GGGaAAah shouldn't we both be doin burnouts and 'hooning' about promoting wrecklesness? haha.
  12. Havn't read above posts but as of my knowledge and experience with this stuff in Victoria is. By current amendments and the new laws the following are applied: First encounter is $1000 fine and 3 demerit points for driving a car over the "power to weight ratio" Second encounter is $5000, i assume 3 points again which will leave you with suspended licence. plus 1 month for extra point. And an impounded car under hoon new state hoon laws. Strike 3 will see a 10-15 thousand dollar fine and a permanent loss of your car. The police wil see fit to what happens with it too and that it will no longer be YOUR car. You would obviously still have to pay what you owe on it too to whoever you owe that to. Then you will face a court hearing and the judge will sentence you as he/she finds fit. Most P platers get another fine on top of what they got from coppers, they are even talkking about short term jail sentences (a few months in the slammer). Theres few other laws here and there, as for R32 4 door GTST's they are tehcincally legal to drive stock but its risky and cops will look for anything to fk you with and most likely EPA your ass quite often lol. Red P's cannot drive any sort of turbocharged or 8 or more cylinder powered vehicles. Green P's can drive anything regardless, as long as its within the power to weight ratio which is 125Kw per ton (measured from the flywheel ) I know this much because when i drive down princess highway theres a silver unmarked XR6 turbo and a Green VE 6.0L both highway patrol cars that i know the drivers of, since they pull me over regularly to check my NON turbo R34 lol...just to make sure i havnt done a shifty on em. As for hearing this, one day they hoon towed a pink VL on P's that was dragging a 32GTR up and down P Hwy, then they pulled over the rest of the group over including myself and i had a good talk to them about what exactly you can and can't do. Most people i see driving GTT 34's and GTST's on P's havn't been caught but just wait till they get a strict cop on their tails Regardless of wether they get caught or not, its probably wise you don't follow in their footsteps no matter how tempting it is. I had the temptation of buying a GTT since it was the same price as my 25GT but the choice was made more clear when i saw first hand what happens. Plus the laws aint getting any softer, they are just comming down harder and harder, soon i wouldn't be suprised if they started issuing out fines to little kids on bikes because they don't have 'training wheels' on the back. Also i am on my green P's and as much as i love to say i drive sensibly ALL the time, i don't, and sadly its a fact for most P platers, i know though over time i am becomming more sensible and part of that is knowing that i am in the wrong to begin with. I have done defensive driving courses after i totaled my black R34. After all that i drive like a granny, i drive sensibly 99% of the time...now i have to work on that 1% which will potentially be most p plater's downfall.
  13. My mate has a Subaru Impreza MY05 and had to get it serviced. When we headed down to the Subaru Repair shop, he encountered a problem and had to leave his car there, since they had no spare rentals etc one of the ladies decided to give us boys a lift home in her new WRX STi Hatch. While we were driving she mentioned the fact that the MY09 Subaru's will feature a Sedan model that will only come in WRX and Impreza models but the STi model will be retained by the likes of the MY08 Hatch as it currently is the case. Personally after hearing this and getting excited for Subaru again, after seeing the pictures of it, those thoughts of relief for Subaru went down the toilet. As for the new EVO X and upcomming XI and 2009 lancers they look great, they are heading in a decent direction, as designers, the flat panel style we are used to is definately dead, just take a look at the new VE's, the GTR, everything is getting rounder etc. The new sedan WRX looks SHIT!!!!! It's so terrible i dont know anyone who will personally take a liking to it. As for the Impreza model MY09 sedans they don't look so bad...the scoop and front grille on the Rex sedans look awful (for MY09's). I think after seeing the sedans i have grown alot fonder of the Hatches lol. Heres a pic from the Subaru site itself:
  14. Sorry for doubling up but i just read post above one i sent and i read some of your qoutes you mentioned. Since reading that the 350Z sounds like your car, and like mentioned if you can afford the V35 or higher model then that is something to consider aswell and is much more unique and refined than both the Z and R models respectively. But if you could afford a brand new Z or a V35 etc you might just consider a BNR34?? You can pick em up for 35-40K landed already. But then again, the amount of people i have heard that say they are only after practical everyday cars with no great deal of power as an issue, well they are the ones that you normally see in magazines later with 500HP+ street cars hahaa...
  15. I would have thought sicne this is a Skylines group more people will lean towards the R34 choice. Points to consider would be: 350Z holdin a higher price tag (Will continue to sustain price better than GTT) R34 is cheaper (Will steadily drop in price and become quite common in most parts) R34 GTT would be a good platform to grab more power for a good price, whereas 350Z VQ35HR engine would need alot more work, and most end up superhcharging for power tha i have seen. R34GTT is not manufactured here obviously therefore parts CAN be trickier to source. R34 would be harder to find in decent condition without it being squirted and trashed around a lil, whereas 350Z owners tend to be more business and more senior people that tend to not belt their cars round as much. If you look at things like that and alot more, and don't wish to have massive amounts of power but like a clean, refined car then its the 350Z. If your after a platform to build on and don't mind fixing things here and there as time goes on and like the whole Jap import scene then R34 is for you. They both are very different cars, as for looks and head turning you probably will find the R34 will do that alot more than a 350Z, but as some people say you do get slandered a bit and categorised as a "hoon" and 'boy racer' etc (which i am anyhow so i dont care lol) Anyhow my two cents, id take the R34GTT since i own a R34 myself, unfortunately its non turbo anyhow cause im a p plater. AND depends what model 350Z you want too some have VQ35DE some VQ35HR, i dont know my 350's so i dont know what else they have, but R34 GTT models 99% come in RB25DET format. Sorry if people have mentioned this already since i didn't read posts above, but good luck and personally i hope you pick the R34
  16. Hey i was wondering round the 'Rays Engineering' web-page and was curious as to how much a set of 4 limited 20" TE37's are. The price is on the website: http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/indexe.html It says 160 000 Yen, which is roughly about $2300. My question is, if it is $2300, is that for one 20" TE37 or a set of 2....or 4 (I doubt 4) But im guessing its unfortunately for just one rim...
  17. I don't quite understand the power-band people are talking about. how they kick in since my mate has a VTiR and even when he floors it, my NON turbo R34 can comfortably pass him... I guess his car is stuffed? or is that just the almighty V-Tec i have heard ohh so much about? How come Wheels Magazine never mentioned V-Tec as the GODZILLA of FWD cars etc? Hmmm.....i'll sleep on it, maybe ill wake up a V-Tec fanboy and sell my dreams of owning a GT-R Ps. As for the owners of V-Tecs and the like who mention their superior handling, Impreza's do a damn decent job with AWD functionality to grip and are cheap too, not to mention the STi's etc that at least have some usable power if you needed that too, And going slightly off topic, if i had to settle for something other than a Skyline/Other Nissan's, i think personally although i hate them, it would be a Ford XR6 Turbo....they arn't too shabby.
  18. I have been to 180 and havn't seen any movement, rattling, nothing at all at that speed straight line for a good 2 minutes at 180. Unfortunately i have a speed limiter so i can't reach a higher speed to know if my spoiler will rip off haha, but it shouldnt come off at speeds higher than that anyhow! Plus you'd hope aerodynamically at any higher speed that your spoiler would help you keep some sort of downforce if anything. not fall off....then again they arn't exactly made for downforce but none the less they should do something, but definately not fall off. I'd say what the guys above already have said and that is to just get some strong adhesive that will keep it in place or if you really love your spoiler, resin is your best friend
  19. In need of a R34 GT-R Spoiler/ ADR aproved aero hoods (ER34. 25GT, GT-T etc not GTR) Can be A/M even a fake mold or Genuine. (Will want evidence) Preferably in White but any colour even unpainted is fine. Price: 500 or less. But will consider a look at genuine ones that price higher. Will look at any hood that is ADR aproved at any price (non CF) PM me anytime asap please, pictures are handy too. Thanks, Josh.
  20. That purple drift R34 that everyone says has a URAS kit, well yeh it has a URAS kit but the front and rear panels are Cross Factory panels. I just bought a set i hope they fit to my Bomex bodykit... Apparently its made to order so they taking their sweet time bringing it down from Japland. I will take pics and post when i put it all together but i leave overseas November 27th so im hoping i get it done before then.
  21. I have UR ASS on my bumper...thats about it... Havnt found one yet? When i come past next week how bout we just have a nice drive down to springvale and buy one? Or...we can prositutue ourselves, you for your URAS bumper and me for some Green paint i need oh so badly...
  22. PM sent on behalf of friend, consider sold!!!!
  23. Rawwwwrrr!!!

  24. Good luck! What bodykit pieces are you using, is the widebody fenders custom, like gt500 style? Bomex Frotn bar sides and rear but Cross Factory Front pumped and rear guards with a GTR spoiler instead of GTT factory...hopefully it looks good..(if they can do it) otherwise ill have to leave it for now while i buy a set of GTR body panels to fit to the wide fenders. And i don't know if they graft over the old paenls for rear i think it might need to be cut n welded into place :S but thats another hassel im gonan hav to find out...gotta do it befor ei head off in novemeber an di have licence suspension for last 3 months so im looking forward to driving cept...parts will com round the time i get lience back..hence the initial question...argh so disapointed haha things not looking too good but i trust things will eventually work out for the car
  25. Hey guys, was just curious to know how many people have had a kit fitted and sprayed to their cars, how long they took for each person individually and how long on average you think it takes just so i know what im in for. I have to personally fitted a new: eyelids, a/m hood, a/m front bumper, side skirts and rear, new spoiler and techincally that should be it. want to know times for that. Then i have a seperate question, im actually adding wider fenders too, front AND back! So thats probs where the time spent will be on the car. i know the figures above will be thrown out the window, but if on a more specific topic, has anyone had a bodykit fabricated to their car that takes longer than a "standad" kit as i should put it. Either times for a A/M kit or a custom kit would be helpful, where you got it done and how much it cost would be a bonus. Thanks very much i hope to hear from anyone soon! Sincerely, josh.
