  1. Oil pressure huh... didnt think to check that... So having oil pressure means that its most likely cooler piping?

My goal is 320awkw... from reading the RB26 dyno thread... it seems like some ppl were falling short of that power with the -7s... will do some further research before buying tho I will have another look at the piping tomorrow... had a look last night... was dark so may have missed something... but from what I have read it seems like if a pipe has come loose... you still get some smoke when driving afterwards... I'd rather preprare myself for the worse and either be relieved when I hear it was just a pipe or not be surprised when I eventually do get confirmation that it was the turbo... just hope these bores are still ok... car seems to drive fine (just without boost) if thats any indication... BLARDI 15psi ACTUATORS!! was planning on taking them off this weekend too
  3. so what do you guys think of the following idea: I grab some 2860 - 5s and whack em in... was planning to get those all along... might as well upgrade now now the car is completely standard... doesnt even have a full turbo back exhaust yet... so I'm not sure how the Garretts will work on the standard car... will probably have to run like 5psi until I get all the supporting mods (PFC, exhaust, injectors, tune etc etc)... any thoughts on how much boost should be run in this sort of situation...

  5. ok so was stuck it traffic tonight and getting annoyed... finally got some open road and give it a bootfull in 1st gear... all of sudden I hear a small bang and see black smoke in the rear view mirror... then there is no boost... the car spools from negative to zero... and nothing from there... it drives fine if u dont hit boost... idles fine... no smoke or anything... and im pretty sure the exhaust note has changed... almost like there is something stuck in the cat (or it could just be my imagination).... so one of the turbos has let go yeh? i'm almost certain its the turbos from reading what others have experienced... checked for leaks in cooler piping... seems all fine... car is pretty much standard... running cat back exhaust... and 15psi actuators (came with the car! should have taken them off :@)

  7. 32s are getting old now and a good one is hard to come by for a little bit more... why wouldnt you buy a newer car with the same basic components... i picked my R33 GTR on saturday... couldnt be happier
  8. WOW pretty good result... my internally gated 3071R kept dropped from 20 to around 16-17psi... would have cracked 300rwkw if it had kept consistent boost. Well done... is this turbo available for purchase? I have a friend looking to upgrade

  13. yeh internally gated low mount for me was a must to avoid defects... thats why i went with 3071... mine doesnt hook up to the standard skyline dump... i have custom intakes n dumps... (dump made a big difference)... got some pics too but not on the work comp so will prob put some up on the weekend
  14. 290rwkw with a 3071R full boost is just over 3500RPM perfect for your situation

  18. You dont need 30K to beat a Standard R34 GTR in a straight line... My car cost me 10K + around 10K on the motor = 290rwkw It smashes by brother's standard R34 GTR in a straight line (in a rolling start, having tried him from a standing start) BUT IN NOW WAY IS MY CAR A GTR! the GTR is just a completely different animal. Its so tight and composed. My car might be quicker in a straight line but I would instantly swap all that power for the stability and feel of the GTR. My point is that even you may spend all that cash and have a quick skyline, in my opinion it will still not compare to how a GTR feels to drive. So yeh... dont worry about spending 30K, you can acheive your goal in half that. But do some homework before you post dude. Kinda makes you look like a douche when you join a forum and start asking obvious questions.
  19. low mount 3071R in mine... heatshield is off... the cops know where the skyline's standard turbo is so after the BOV they go straight to the turbo... have been defected three times now... but never for the turbo itself...

  23. +1 for ^^^^ I've got an adjustable turbosmart BOV plumbed back... with the standard turbo it sounded ok... but when i started pumping 19psi through the piping it went crazy especially on the motorways... 5th gear... gave the throttle a little tap then back off and all you hear is... tsu tsu tsu tsu tsu tsu hahaha but yeh... getting over it a bit... might loosen the BOV to just get a big old whoosh!

  25. I rekon you coud get more than $500 for the injectors... prob close to $700... thats what i paid for used ones
