  2. Count me in... Please send me a PM when payment is due
  3. i have those advans on my 33 GTS-T. They sit very nicely
  4. thanks guys... this is exactly the kind of info i was after... hopefully this will stop him from puttin this rubbish on his car... its not a bad looking car so far... id hate to see it fall apart http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh197/usmair/DSC00304.jpg
  5. smaller than factory? interesting....
  6. and on the whole standard computer thing... I keep telling him that there is no way a standard computer tune will do the job properly... but he said he went to MRC and the bloke over there said he could do a better job tuning the standard comp rather than working on an aftermarket computer... dunno shit about WRX's so i cant really argue with him over them...
  7. i agree that i wont get much info on here but I trust the opinions on here more than on any other forum... which is why i posted im just trying to get some real world examples of shitty ebay turbos ruining engines... even if they do not relate to a wrx... but even just the 2 responses I have received so far which clearly point out that ebay turbos are rubbish should make him think twice so cheers for that...
  8. yeh but i opened this thread so i can just send him a linky n open his eyes any real world experiences with cheap turbos wrx's guys?
  9. hey guys, ok here is the story my mate has a 2000 WRX... with all the usual mods... he is now in the market for a turbo now keep in mind that this guy likes to cut corners... he will always go for 2nd hand/cheaper goods... so he is hooked on this idea... and he keeps tellin me that with this turbo and a tune on his standard computer (dunno how good wrxy comps r) he shud b hitting somewhere around 350hp on all 4 wheels... and since my GT3071R will be going in soon... considering how much i paid for it... im very intersted to see if a $700 ebay turbo will essentially give him the same type of power as my $3000 turbo... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/93-07-GC8-GDA-GDB-W...id=p3286.c0.m14 now im a bit of a skeptic and like to check everything b4 i make a purchase... especially off ebay but i dunno shit about those turbos and dunno anything about EJ20s so can any1 on here with knowledge on these two topics help me out.. 1. Will this work? 2. I'd be expecting a shitload of lag.. what kind of driveability will this thing have? 3. Will it make 350hp? reliably? 4. Will it blow up into little pieces and f*k my mates engine? thanks guys
  10. they are more fun that the GT series for me
  11. i got my system installed by Car Audio Excellence in Penrith in my old car, and they always play it safe with their installs and dont tune the system to its true potential. When i got the car back i thought "is this it?" and then got home and started playing with the amp settings. It sounded so much cleaner and deeper when i finished. It did put extra strain on the Amp but it was a shitty boss amp so i didnt really care. Point: Install/Tune makes a huge difference
  12. $2000 is a pretty generous budget for a system these days... install it yourself and spend the $400 on a better amp. It's not that hard man, just takes a couple of hours to run all the wires thru and your new deck should have the instructions to hook it all up. + get a custom box made for your sub. Cant recommend it enough. My Alpine Type R sounded rubbish when i first put it in. Got a box made and a quick play around with the Amp and it was much better.
  13. buying personalised plates are actually a pretty clever way to lower yr tax... as long as u can convince the tax man that it relates to yr business then u can claim a pretty handy deduction... lower yr tax and have some pretty cool plates pretty sure that's how all the big $$$ plates would be bought... the ones that run into the tens of thousands...u'd be absolutely stupid to pay for em out of yr out pocket
  14. wow so cheap... im selling mine for more than that and its got no way near that much lol good luck man.. should go pretty quick for that price..
  15. was this taken out in western sydney somewhere? pretty sure I have seen the purple skyline and supra driving around...
  16. usmair

    R33 Gtr Spoiler

here is mine... looks pretty good i think
  17. the rear seats in a supra are pretty much useless... my mate actually got rid of em and has a big 15" sub sitting in the back now... the room is much much worse than skylines...
  18. happened to me as well... went shopping... then went home... was about to jump in my car the next morning and saw they had been nicked... sux ey umm just jap have new ones but they are about $50 per badge.... im sure some1 on the forums in wrecking a gts-t that would sell u the badges... thats wot i ended up doing... i think i got both of em for about $40 from someone on here...
  19. thanks rad32 for sending me the stuff... pretty sure I had ordered a jacket but ohwell... the hoody doesnt look to bad either... they fit really nicely the SAU does kind of let it down a bit but ill still be wearing it too cruises!! thanks again... 2 hoodies for $60 aint bad hehe
  20. lol i c... gonna have to do some more homework on clutches then...
  21. Slide Performance has the Heavy Duty 5 Puk Button clutch kit for $475... apparently they are good for 300rwkw... wouldnt that be sufficient???
  22. i got down there at 9ish... saw that purple R33... looks nice... thought i would wait around for my turn but there were still heaps of cars waiting to go on.. saw that red type R on the dyno... only put out about 110 at the wheels... (used to think they would be more powerful than that) couldnt be bothered waiting around so just left lol
  23. hey guys... i have now bought all the goodies i need to make some serious power but i'm still running the standard clutch... now I know I definetely need to upgrade it at some stage... but its actually fairly new so I was wondering if it could cope with roughly 275rwkw... What would it be like to drive everyday? and what would happen when I take the car to the drags with the shitty clutch? Basically what i'm asking is if I can keep using the standard clutch (with 275rwkw) until it starts to wear out or do i need to change it even before I think about putting the new turbo, pfc, injectors etc in... A decent clutch would only set me back around $500 + install so its not a big deal of cash but i just dont want to throw away my current clutch if it could be used to handle that kind of power... Just to let you know the car is a series 1 R33 GTS-T Cheers
  24. im in... shud be good to get a base reading before the major mods go in...
