  2. I spose only you can decide that as everyone's level of acceptable "boost threshold" and "lag" are different. Maybe hit up a few club members to take you for a spin of what you think you're after?
  3. They also said the cams in my car (When it got featured) were "custom profile PROcams". There wasn't anything "'custom" about them.
  4. Newer/better designed wheels which are lighter. How can that possibly be a bad thing? Take a walk down the pit garages of events like WTAC and take note at how many cars are using turbo's like the Z's, T88's, T78's, T51's (prob a bit big but the point still stands). I think I saw one Z one the bayside R34 that was built by CRD. If they were the 'bomb diggity', then wouldn't more people be using them? ALOT of the cars there were using Precisons. Hell, in the first garage there were two! -GTX Garrets -CEA Precisions -EFR BW's These have all been released in what, the last 2 years? All I was saying is that there are turbo's out there that have had some R&D in the last 5 years. You can't deny turbo tech (esp singles) have really come along way in the last 5 and especially 2-3 years.
  5. FFS. I was there yesterday. I could have got them and thrown them on my bill!!!!! I don't know why anyone would consider the old dog T04Z now. Technology has moved on since 1912.

  7. They will 'feel' faster (esp on a 2.6) because of the transition onto power is so much more sudden. 5's (IMHO) really need a 2.8 + OR a high comp (9.2:1 +) 2.6 to work. The jury is still out on that result. 1/4 trap speeds don't add up. On the street the smaller turbo's will be faster and depending on what you're into more fun too. Coming out of a second gear corner and waiting for the snails to 'wakeup' SUCKS! You're halfway up the hill and it's "here we go!!!"... then you have to brake..... But it will look better on a dyno, so your pub talk will be a winner!
  8. Time will tell James. There was a hell of a lot of PT's at WTAC and I didn't hear of any failures. But surprised they're not watercooled though. Must be some reason for that!

  10. Fullboost is a very misleading phrase. What is fullboost? 10, 15, 25, 40 psi? Twin scroll or just normal?
  11. I've been through 3 sets of coils with that stupid thing. One set lasted less than 2000 kms. Ripped it off and no problems. The Unigroup box is a ignitor replacement.

  14. Took my Twin spark off and ran a Unigroup Ignitor box, runs a lot better. Waste of time.

  18. I took it to Unigroup and said "Give me a 5 litre surge tank under the car... GO".... I got that back. I've never had an issue... I have a Fuel pressure gauge in the car. i'll evenutally put a little fuel cooler like what Bobby did. i've seen the data that Unigroup has of warm/hot fuel and its just downright scary!
  19. Thats why I decided to run the -5's again. The whole time I was building the head it was "response, response, response". I have been assured it will crack 450 but im more interested in the mid range.... The goal is 400 by 5000 RPM.... I wasn't that far off it before it died. With the single, time will tell! A tad bummed I took the valve relief out as I qould have been around 9:4 - 9.5:1 but atleast it's not 8.5! Bring on the tune!

  21. I dont know how I forgot to post this. It's my surge tank and AFM delete pipes. I painted the surge tank black so headlights didnt reflect off the alloy..... because im a nice bloke
