Keep the standard 5th. You don't need it reving it's head off on the freeway. I did that with my box.
$2,600. Who is that through?
Drive mine out at texi. The ratio's are longer. 87 km/h first, 138 km/h in second and 190 km/h at 8000 RPM.
How many boxes will you do till you put a 'big box'
In? If you do 4, you're half way there and are still stuck with a standard box. You shouldn't be busting them with the power you have UNLESS you have no mechanical sympathy!
I say do it and do it properly. Costs less in the long run!
Not sure now.
I bought my 5 speed with big input shaft for $2,760 delivered from greenline 4 years ago. You will need all the Series 3 internals to run it.
Make sure you buy the billet centre plate from OS.
Take the return line off the arse end of the FPR, put a longer hose on te reg, start car and drain into a Jerry. Put the fuel in the daily and fill up with 98.
Job done.
From memory the Nismo pipes are a little on the small side. Something like twin 60 mm into a 75 mm (I will double check when I get home). The HKS pipes which are twin 70 in to 85 are a much better option.
Never understood this. Cam gears are the best thing you can do apart from putting fuel in the car! (providing the guy tuning it knows what he is doing and spends the time setting them up)
