Lol. Never heard of those "super exhaust sniffers".
Yes they are illegal, but stay away from known hotspots, dont drive like twit and you should be right.
Ian, I remember you saying something about te EJ's at the Nats.
Thats a good little something I can do when it's on the dyno next. Take a short movie with the Cam gear cover off to show how much the belt flops around. It's actually quite disturbing! Out of sight out of mind right?
Hey man.
Still have it in the garage. Got it balanced by some mob, put it back in. It was better but not perfect. The stock one is back in the car now. I sent an email to ACPT and got nothing back. To be honest I forgot all about it.
What we meant to do while it was on the dyno was to do a run on the OEM CAS and flick a switch to take the timing off the trigger and compare graphs. It will be back out there for more boost and to start using the EBC. I will come back with results.
The tuner helped design this kit. There has been alot of revision's with it.
Huntley. Funny you bring that up, I went for a drive and did it on Sunday (Nice and slow as it is a "public road"). The next Huntley is in early Feb. Bring it on. Lock it in .
Ratio's. It's alot more flexible now. I suppose thats what comes with more area under the curve. There is no need to rev the guts out of it. At Winton, alot of my changes were at 6 - 6,500 RPM just because I didn't need to rev it.
I'm going with the exhaust too small aswell. 3 inch is nothing and it seems to be one of the biggest factors in poor results with these things. Make sure the mufflers don't 'taper down' to something silly like 2.5 inch inside!
Yeah mate. Thats the plan. A full blown HKS head with the "NAPREC" chamber mods, 1.5 mm OS valves and mines "252 @ 10.05mm" cams. That was the hardest decision to make out of the whole thing. It's still over there getting finished off. No real rush, it's coming close to 12 months since that head was started. Hopefully the cams will be big enough. Going by how far my intake cam is advanced at the moment and the curve is not nosing over they should be ok!
That's the thing. Isn't "really necessary". Timing, combined with fuel is prob the most important things on a highly tuned car. If there is no consistancy in either of those, you really are risking that big buck bottom end.
I spose it is like anything though.
This kit has been in the pipeline for a while now. I am not sure how long, but Yavuz mentioned it when I jumped across to E85 in Nov last year. It has been something like 3 years of Testing and tuning.
I saw those 800's on there today. The way Yavuz tunes, i would bet money on them not being big enough. Time will tell!
That blue one already has the trigger kit on it, although it only has 12 teeth and not 34.
