Dumps are here, 5's are in their boxes in my room. Just waiting on my Nismo cooler to turn up. Also should have the crank timing trigger (will explain later) to stop this timing floating around issue!
Anyway, back on topic. Get a cat that is 4 inch in and out with the biggest body you can find!
Oh god no. RS's in a 2.6L would have to be the worst low mount setup out there. They are terrible on a (my) 2.8. Sure you might make a nice big fat number starting with a 4 but you are going to be belted by a well balanced car with little baby -7's or -9's.
On the pommie forum they seem to love the '2.8 + RS' setup. It is not the setup to have. On a dirty thirty they are not bad... But they are not great either. Once again te next size down in turbo size would make for a much quicker car. Yes you might loose a bee's dick in top end (20 HP) but the midrange will more than make up for it.
It's up to you but area under the curve wins!
Can't wait for the next one. There 100000000000%. Next time I will make sure my oldies dont turn up when I decide to do 4WD hellies *Facepalm*
Keep the pics and footage coming.... Its great
What a fantastic day. Big Big BIG thanks to the organsiers and people who make this happen!
That is my car.
Quick spec list:
GT block, Tomei 2.8, HKS GT RS's, Tomei 270 @ 10.25, E85, ID 2000 injectors. All the rest of the crap doesnt really matter.
yeah I wouldn't be so sure. I'm using ID 2000's (which are actually 2225cc) making 400kw on E85 @ 65% duty cycle. That's on a 2.8 with twin RS's. The idle is better with these than my old Sard 800's.
Haha. Take it easy! Why stand there holding 20+ Kgs when you can have some mad little contraption do it all for you! Winnah
Nah, you have me mixed up with Reefat! That bloke is a tank!
Will test tonight to see how long it takes to empty a Jerry. Might have to get the multi out and test voltages! Bigger and shorter cable to be used to get the pump to spin a bit harder? It's still in the 'prototype' phase
The pumps are not for my car. I already have two. Its for a little thing I have made up so I dont have to hold up Jerry cans full of E85. Using a stock GTR pump at the moment but I want something with a bit more flow.
How long have you had it on charge for? Have you got a trickle charger... It wont hurt to try I suppose. Leave it for a week and see what happens. If it wont take charge by then bin it!
Thats what killed it... not using it. Get yourself a trickle charger plug it in and leave it. I have one on mine. If I dont put it on charge my car will not start after one week of sitting in the garage!
All at 8000 RPM
OS 1st = 87 Km/h
2nd = 138 Km/h
3rd = 190 Km/h
4th = stock - 235 km/h
5th = 290 IIRC (Although I have the stock gear in my box)
Stock off the top of my head
1st = 75 Km/h
2nd = 120 Km/h
3rd = 180 km/h
4th = 235 Km/h
5th = 310 Km/h
After stripping every tooth off my 3rd gear I put in the OS set. On the street it can be a pain in the arse. 2nd gear slowish corners (say 60km/h) you dont have that nice shove in the back like you did before ... due to not as much RPM. It might not look like much of a difference but it can either work for you or against you, depending on the situation.
"push" them to high 300's? They wont even be awake flowing that much! Why not get a set of turbo's suited to you goal? It will make for a much nicer (and quicker) car!
Aftermarket BOV's are a waste of cash. Leave it as is! Vent to atmo gives no performance gain apart from sounding like a two bob wanka!!! Spend the money elsewhere like a decent cat or computer.
