Yes. By a significant amount too.

A bloke in the UK did that exact setup. From memory it went 575 HP. Can't remember fuel or boost as it was a while ago. http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/400338-r32-gtr-old-school-fun.html Dan, link to build thread. It was the 0.92 IWG setup, sorry.

This whole ugly turbo thing. Seriously guys, man up. You won't be worried about an "ugly" turbo when you're driving the thing. End rant. What Dan said. 7670/1.05 would be an amazing setup on a RB26. To draw a comparison, Benny from Benchmark tuning has put a fair few 7670's on EVO's. He says th basically drive like the factory EVO snail... but go onto make north of 400 Kw wound up. It would make the typical "-7/-9 2.6 build" look rather silly.

Can't get into Insight until Feburary. Haven't spoken to Dennis this week. Hopefully the PS res, the airbox and gate lines are on the to do list. Gearbox is back out of the car. I wish I knew this before I put the gearbox in, but for those who buy an OS88 in the future, make sure you sort out the breather fitting. They silicon the fitting in and with a little bit of heat the fitting pops out. It makes sense why it was spewing oil out on the dyno and on the road! Box is at Award getting sorted. So, a "cover" on the inside over the breather hole, a tapped thread for the breather fitting so it won't come out. Scott also wants to run a Mercedes Benz gear position sensor so that will go in now. GRRRRR!!!!! Ross CAS kit was ordered last week. Godzilla motorsport ignition kit ordered this arvo. Thats another two items off the list. -
The GT PRO is quite cranky with the Nismo oil it comes with. I switched to the OSG 80W-250 and it shuts it up by 85%. This was with solid alloy diff bushes but I've ditched them and put some Nismo rubber bushes in. Haven't driven the car yet but it should be a lot better again.

How big is the engine/how well does the whole system breathe? How much power are you making? I had my -5's modified to increase leverage on the arm using the garrett stock item. I had them cracking at 24 psi but then brought it back to 19-20 psi. Managed to get it to hit 30 psi through the middle but tapering down to 26ish psi by 8000 rpm. That was making 472 rwkw on Unigroups dyno. (2.8, heavily modified head, big lift cams) At some point, those little compressors are going to run out of puff/flow. if they cant supply anymore air then naturally the pressure is going to taper off.

Considering how the 7163 on the 2.0, I'd be inclined to go a 7670 on an RB25 IMO. An extra 500 cc and spiny cams, it would be a weapon. Packaging would be an issue though I would use imagine:

I know the 83 mm update map got posted the page before but I thought i'd post both large frame maps up in the one post. 83 mm update - 91 mm update - 91 mm inducer goes from 67.8 mm to 73.7 mm (thats cute.... same length as a stock RB26 crank throw) with no increase in exducer 83 mm inducer goes from 62.6 mm to 67.5 mm with an increase of 1 mm on the exducer to 84 mm.

For what it's worth, I was in that car with Dan that day "scoping out" the 7163. 7163 is a 60 lb snail and to draw a comparison, the GTX 3071 is a 56 lb huffer. It's hard to believe that the 7163 came on so strong on 2.0, no spiny cam engine like it did. It almost felt like it was too small, but that's only because it was on so early. Bump it up another 560 ish cc, a 7670 would be an absolute bullet on a RB26. Definitely a combo I would like to see put together! What rear housing/gate/manifold combo would you be looking at running?
-
Who knows. Purchase the turbo a week before it goes in. Whatever is available, buy it.
-
Ooooo... been waiting for this . i wonder when they're going to be released and what this does to the other snails in the lineup. Hopefully the extra flow is without copping a penalty which would be ideal but hopeful at the same time. Is the rear big enough to accomodate the large increase in flow?
