  1. Hopefully goes to Hypertune tomorrow for turbo to plenum piping but I've heard that before! Yeah yeah, turns out the rear turbo was cactus anyway. 5000 kms. Spose they didn't like to be run so hard so either way the turbos were coming off. Oil all through the dump.
  2. If I could draw a comparison. The low end fell between a -9 and a -5, yet made 450 kW. This was the most basic jurassic park setup there is. A proper twin scroll manifold, twin gates, two scroll ass end housing would have made it better no doubt! "Twins for response" is a little upsetting when a dinosaur open scroll Z punches hell out of -5's on an equivalent engine.
  3. Yup. Still waiting!
  4. I got into this car expecting the worst. Got out of it with a smile on my face.I'm not shy to express my hate for 2.6L's. They suck. But I'd rather a 2.6L open scroll, dirty old Dinosaur T04Z than a 2.8L with RS's as much as I hate to say it. Call it what you will. I'm VERY critical of a setup.
  5. Yet to see a GTW result that is half decent.
  6. It was.Linear, quick to fall back into its stride. I would 100000% prefer that than a set of -5's (let alone a set is RS's) on a stock engine. Makes me very curious to see what a 3582R would do on the same setup, being smaller. That was an old dinosaur garrett Z, open scroll, single gate setup.
  7. Got out of a stock 2.6 with a dirty old T04Z open scroll today. Was actually quite impressed. 4500 rpm and was cracking gates, yet made 450 rwkw on unigroups dyno. Straight back onto song between gears. Makes me upset why I've been playing in the sandpit for the last 9 years with twins.
  8. Clutch photo's. Both plates wore exactly the same. From what I can gather, new thickness is 8.0 mm and 7.1mm is where they are considered needing new plates. This was holding 472 RWKW on a 2.8 stroker when it got pulled out. Top plate Bottom plate Front cover Back of flywheel
  9. Yep. "OSG 5 speed" is 1-3 and 5th. 4th being 1:1.
  10. Hi guys. Both items are located in Georges Hall. Shipping will be paid by the buyer as well as paypal fee's (if you want to use them) Item: OSG "3 speed" gearbox with OSG Billet sandwich plate. Price: $5,000 Condition: Like new. I picked it up from Award Diff and Gearbox yesterday having just been fully refreshed. It had a 2nd gear failure (one tooth broke off) which was replaced with a brand new gear. It also received a 1st/2nd selector sleeve and a brand new 2nd synchro ring. This box is basically brand new. I kept Nissan standard 5th gear for reduced RPM on the freeway. Link to gearset. http://www.otomoto.com.au/p/4146449/nissan-skyline-gt-r-and-z32-5-speed-close-ratio-gearset-by-os-giken.html Link to sandwich plate: http://www.otomoto.com.au/p/8745823/nissan-billet-sandwich-plate-for-skyline-.html Item: Nismo Coppermix Twin Plate - Competition Model (Pull type 5 speeds only) Price: $1,200 Condition: Used. It has been in my car since 2005 and has travelled roughly 35-40,000 Kms. Only removed when I went to an OSG OS88 gearbox. It wouldn't fit. This clutch would have to be THE clutch to use on a street driven GTR. They just do not die, lovely to drive and not heavy under the foot. * I will take friction plate thicknesses tomorrow and post them up. *Or buy both for $6,000.
  11. Buy the right part for the job. Don't hack the car up because you may have saved $50 on it or you have one laying around. As above, no need to use an ECU from last mellenium!
  12. Nice effort, head. Is that 3rd or 4th gear runs? Damn it Jezzebelle and you're speed dyno sheets .
  13. Everything is good in hindsight, Pete. Atleast it's all back together now and not having the coolant fairies come at night! Now its suspension time. If your shocks are stock (which they are) your 18 year old bushes would be flogged also. That "floating" under power is very unnerving. Hold the wheel straight and it's slowly drifting left and right on the road! Lol! - All bushes replaced - Rear sub frame "pineapples" or alloy collars. (I remember doing this like 7 years ago and it took one corner to realise what difference it made) - A set of shocks. Maybe something like MCA "comforts". Don't be tempted by that "BC" garbage. Be better off putting train track sleepers in there. - A decent alignment.
  14. Nah mate. The 2.8 is staying put. If it ever dies I'll look at something bigger. I just want it back on the road. Slowly chipping away.
  15. Just got home after driving this thing. Wow. The idle sounds like a stock RB26 with a cat back. Smooth and quiet without any lump lump shenanigans going on. From cold start, the V cam wont do it's spinny cam tricks until oil temp is up and it's most defiantly noticeable. Doodling around there is more than enough grunt. 1st, 3rd, 6th would be a walk in the park. Getting it up it a bit, anything over 3400 RPM and its roaring up the street. Being a 6 speed you could get away with changing at 5500 RPM and it would fall right back into its stride. The lag between gears is non existent. I think I took it to 7500 RPM once. Not needed but the powerband width is something I haven't experience in a GTR, not even close. As a street/hillclimb car, the package is just brutal. If you're not happy wiith that Pete, you'll need to buy a tractor. Time to work on the suspension mate. You need to ditch those original shocks from 1999!
  16. Working turbos are paid for and sent.
  17. You can get the "Pro" kit which has a 264 @ 10.0 mm but the price jumps up by another 50% or so. It comes with an ECU (which you cant option out) that you pretty much throw in the bin.
  18. Crappy HKS style split dumps ain't helping, nor is the 3 inch small point in the exhaust.
  19. Coppermix FTW. Can't kill the bloody thing and feels fantastic to drive. THE clutch to use on a street GTR.
  20. You've changed man. Lol.Although, two gates, one turbo.
  21. Pete, the dominator 1800 will supply what you need with ease and is is almost silent. Needs to be external though.
  22. Why not a 6466 or 6870?
