  1. So much this. Having gone from Sard 800's to a modern 2000, I can tell you the 2000 idles much nicer and drives so much better than those old wrecks. To say "nope, nothing that doesn't drop in" for a sake of a plug change is crazy.

  3. Can update that the Unigroup car that this kit was being used on was just about to have the cam covers bolted back into place after install. Hopefully next week they have an overlay. Basic setup was a 2.6, 6266 open scroll, 250 @ 9.15 exhaust cam, E85.
  4. Only the turbo to be bolted up. If they can't do that with the bonnet on then they should be sacked.
  5. Luke has a 3.0, you have a 3.2. Basically means you're gonna have more grunt naturally without the aid of the turbo.
  6. It won't want to putter around, it'll want to turn tyres everywhere!
  7. Read this http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm Go to your preferred tuner and make sure it's timing and fuel is right on a dyno.
  8. You'll forget about all the bullshit and pain once it's done. I still for the life of me don't understand the 8.5:1 comp ratio business.
  9. Can even use your factory style front pipes with the EFR kit. The full race dumps bolt upto it. But looks like a disaster under the bonnet
  10. Manifolds are a drop in the ocean really.
  11. $3,200 without rubber. These have never been on a car guys.
  12. Issue is, who i going to do the back to back. Its alot of coin tied up in all those parts .
  13. That would be good for an overlay. Interesting you say that about the top end. The 8374 has 62.6 mm inducer and 83 mm exducer compared to the 6262 of 62 mm in and 82 ex. I realize its a bit more complicated than that but food for thought as thr EFR is has a bigger front fan on both accounts.
  14. Well, from Matty James-Wallace' back to back between the -5's and the internal gate 8374 it's night and day. Comes on 5-700 rpm earlier than the -5's. I'd believe it too after having the pleasure of experiencing a GTR with an EFR on it too.
  15. It was a very stupid design from Nissan. A little bit more thought would have gone a long way, but I Spose it worked well for it's intended purpose of 300 hp - give or take.
  16. I'm sure a mate would do it for a slab of beer. Some bloke does them on here for $100 exchange. It most Definately does make a difference. Plenty of info on the net about it.
  17. Modify the twin turbo pipe for $50. Good enough.
  18. Actually two mufflers Micko.
  19. Well as I said in my PM, I'm still running an airbox at 470 rwkw plus. Unless the pods are boxed off, I can't help but think about the hot air you're supplying the engine for starters. The factory box has an intake from the passenger guard which is a damn healthy size and the front snorkle. I've always wanted to do a back to back between pods and the airbox but I can't see it being a restriction as yet.
  20. Hpi Stock manifolds. Port match them if you want. I'm making over 470 rwkw through -5's on stock (although tickled to match the ported exhaust ports and match the turbine housings which have been taken out to gasket size) manifolds. The Tomei ones give you nothing apart from a lighter wallet and a sticker. Nice paper weight though when they crack! Twin 3 inch into a proper 4 inch. Put the stock airbox back in. Play around with cams. Advance intake, retard exhaust. Report back. That's really as much as you can do before engine out, increasing capacity and the wallet emptying exercise that comes with turning that corner.
  21. Uh oh. Now you've done it. .
  22. I considered everything mate. I went for a run in an R34 GTR with a OS88 and my mind was made up by the time we got to the end of the first street. The holinger was alot more $$ again. I got everything I needed with the OS 88 including a new clutch and one of the option ratio sets (extra cost) for a tad over $16k delivered. They Definately as "agricultural" as you would expect.
  23. Busted on a track day running roughly 550 whp at the time. Now, I'm not sure if the damage was done prior or I did something that day. Maybe a shock load over a ripple strip. I haven't pulled it down to have a look yet. The new box should be here soon so I'll know what failed soon enough. There is a bloke in WA that has busted two of these OS sets with a 2.8 and low mounts also. After 12 months of research, talking to guys and manufacturers of gearsets, I chose the OS88. Yes, it's a lot of coin, but good luck breaking that. By the time you do a PPG 5 speed for example with all th fruit you're almost at a 6 speed sequential anyway, AND you're not still dealing with the stock gear case. Food for thought?
