  1. Lol at everybodys relaxed attitudes towards "strecthing" tyres. I see damage from missuse and misapplication with tyres everyday - everyone is an expert. What would the engineers and the independent tyre & rim standard engineer/members know. The good old "she'll be right attitude" While your at it why not leave the wheel nuts undone.
  2. Tyres are designed/engineered to fit a specific rim/rims. If you fit tyres to a rim that is outside that specific range you can: * Reduce grip through contact patch distortion * Risk either - Beads unseating from bead seat * Damaging Bead and or Sidewall because it is being distorted and was designed to be used in this way. My advice don't do it.
  3. The RE01R falls under Bridgestone Motorsport. Link to Bridgestone Motorsport tyre Delaers is here: http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/motorsport/outlets.aspx Tyre specs and size range here: http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/motors...yres.aspx#re01r
  4. Autosalon use RE01R - Not the Adrenalin RE001. The Adrenalin stickers on the car is just sponsorship
  5. Depulu Wheel Reconditioning, They are at Ashmore on the Gold Coast. Have had rims fixed there before they do a great job http://www.depuluwheels.com/
  6. The damage in the first two photos is a cut. You can tell this by the angle of the cut as seen in the second photo when you lifted the flap of rubber. As for the cracking in the third photo - It is an a very unusual position. It maybe be a filler/Stiffner problem from manufacture (Contact the manufacturer and have a Rep view the tyres)- But is usually associated with lack of pressure and or weight. How has your pressure maintenance been? Also from the first photo it looks like you are getting some heel & toe wear - I would have the alignment checked and rotate the tyres.
  7. + 1 for PRIMO's response. There is very little difference depending on the pattern and or application. A lot of the tyres available in The Australian market are in fact manufactured in Japan. Tyres in the Australian market will usually be marked either with "DOT" Department of Transport - USA or the E marking system - European ECE regulation 30 for passenger vehilces. The E mark is a lot smaller and is easily overlooked.
  8. Depends on profile. Easiest way to get an approx value is: 235/45R17 (235 x .45)x 2) + (25.4 x 17) = 643 mm Overall diameter. Pi x D = circumference. 643 x 3.14 = 2019 mm Please note these are approx and will vary between Brand & pattern.
  9. Higher dry grip level, same wet grip level. More user friendly - quieter, less harsher ride and very stable. And in most sizes a lot cheaper
  10. You are basing your assumption on a UTQG rating for tread wear?? And comparing a Bridgestone with a Federal? You really have absolutely no idea at all then. Why don't you just wait until you drive the vehicle and then judge the tyres - Seeing how these tyres have been developed for the GTR in conjuction with Nissan and don't crap on about the RE070 has been out before blah blah blah - There is a little bit more to it than that.
  11. Not everything else can cause your wheels to fall off
  12. Have you driven on the RE070 fitted to the GTR? How do you know they are not much "chop"?

  15. Old people just like to complain, besides anything sounds loud when compared to a grandpa's Camry. I think there is a lot of people out there that don't do any young people any favours. For example P Platers these days, any one who has P plates is portrayed by the media as hoons or casualties waiting to happen. I had one Young guy in particular in my street that liked doing doughies on my neighbours lawn and burnouts in the street at any where from 10pm - 2am in a 180SX. It's guys like this that spoil it for everyone - old guy hears or sees an import an automatically it's assumed that this guy is a lunatic like the clown before. The young guy got caught doing a burnout - drunk, whilst on a suspended licence for you guessed it DUI - He also tried to be a bogan hero and punch his way out of it - needless to say he is very well behaved now.
