Sorry guys, All is off an R33 gts-t. Not sure of spring rates. -
G'day all, I have a set of height and damper adjustable Tein coilovers for sale. Apparently they have pillow ball mounts. Excellent condition and were recently rebuilt through Tillbrooks in Adelaide (<10,000kms ago). Will throw in the stock suspension as well. Selling due getting rid of the car for a yuppy puke Porsche 911. Asking $1200 the lot Currently in Adelaide but happy to organise shipping to anywhere in Aust at your cost. Also I have been sent KLC26 (Subaru rr Link Kit h/duty alloy). This also says it's for Impreza + WRX etc. The main components of this kit I can't seem to figure how they fit on the R33. Similar problem to previous post. Bleck

In addition to what Grepin said before re: rear adjustable sway bar, I was also sent part number KBR20-22 (Heavy Duty Sway Bar Mount) but it says it's for a WRX?? The only part that I can figure I use from this kit is the sway mounting saddles which are almost identical to the standard ones. The rest of the kit seems not to fit anywhere? Bleck

Bleck posted a topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
For Sale: R33 GTS-t Tein HA Coilovers. Are both height and damper adjustable. Purchased through Tillbrooks and were rebuilt through them 2 years (15000km) ago. Excellent condition, no photos just yet as they're coming off the car this weekend. Prefer to sell to a fellow South Aussie, however will post interstate at your cost. $1500 Bleck. So I just fitted Kings and Bilsteins
Bleck replied to GunMetalR33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Did you consider just getting new coils made for your coilovers rather than buy whole new suspension???? Much cheaper option. Obviously depends on the condition/quality of the coilovers. -
Anyone know how long to expect a twin plate to last? I have an Excedy Twin centre sprung. Obviously depends on how you drive it though.

I used the R32 instructions and they kinda explained what to do. From memory they explained how to read the japanese symbols for coloured wires? Sorry I can't be any more help but I'm o/s until xmas. If your still having problems then, let me know.

I have installed this on my R33. After much searching, I never found anything specific for the R33. Install wasn't too hard. I could never get the Hicas to go into test mode for inserting the second shim (maybe due to Power FC?). In the end I connected a car battery to the hicas motor on the diff which drove open the gap to insert the second shim. I connected the little black box up but could never get the light on the dash to go out. I then disconnected both the HICAS motor and sensor to make sure it didn't go crazy and try and force the toe in/out.

Great info, Few more questions: 1. Putting the rears into the fron would make the front stiffer than the rear. Is that a problem?? 2. I want to keep the same ride height (eyebrow height). With the softer springs they will compress further than the standard Tein springs, which will require me to wind up and further compress the coil. Do I need longer springs to compensate for this? I'm running the top model Hankook tyres 265/35-18's with camber setup as you've previously stated. Do you think that using the softer 200lbs spring on the rear will greatly improve the traction?? At the moment it's drifting all over the place and killing the rear tyres. Cheers

Sydneykid, thanks for the info re: suspension setup. I have had a problem for a while of little to no traction on my R33 gts-t with 210rwkw. It has Tein height and damper adj coilovers. Camber kit and pineapples fitted. I have read that you recommend to get 200lbs springs made up for the rear and swap the rears to the front. As I know little to nothing about suspension: Do whiteline make a 200lbs spring for the r33 or is it a custom order?? Do I need to order a specific type/size of spring to compensate for the fact that the Teins are adjustable? Why swap the rear springs to the front? Cheers, Bleck

anyway of getting around customs tax+gst ?
Bleck replied to meshybum's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I don't understand how you can get a $400 bill for $700 of goods???? My calcs are: 700 x 15% import duty = $805 805 x 10% gst = $885.50 Thats $185.50 not $400. They were the taxes paid for my car when I imported it. -

Easy, relinquish yourself as an Aussie and don't drive on the roads, use Medicare, get an education or live in country with a half decent defence force. Or you could just move to New Zealand, who don't have a car industry and the tax is less. :jk: -
Does anyone know the correct procedure to install the Tomei Hicas lock kit (elec and mech) on an R33 Gts-t. I've spent an hour searching the forums for it but came up only with the method for the R32. Are they the same?? Wouldn't have thought so, due different Hicas on R32 vs R33. Cheers.....

Noods, I understand that you must have been pretty upset at loosing your car, but I don't think this is the time to be calling the police cops. Esp considering they found your car in one piece (not torched) and you had no alarm and only 3rd party. I'd be buying them a carton of piss if I were you. The cops could have taken their time to recover the vehicle from where it was dumped, and it may have been stolen again. Happens all the time. But anyway, good to hear you got it back.

Go and speak to Mark Tillbrook at Tillbrooks auto's. He has recently had some problems with Regency and may have some sympathy for your plight.

I have stock suspension for an R33 gts-t if you still want to borrow.

Review: Hankook Ventus Sport K104
Bleck replied to riggaP's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
In addition to my last post, just to be sure I'm gonna have my car's rear camber checked today just to make sure that's not causing the problems. If it is and I get my grip back, I'll eat my words and remove the foot from my mouth.... -
Thank's for the replies guys. I have no idea what pineapples are (quite tasty though), or what camber I have set so I need to take it to someone before I scream. I'm sick of lighting up the rears all time at the lights or on exiting corners. Anyone have any recomendations for good places in Adelaide??
