I've Got a question for the SAU brains trust I bought an R33 GTS-T a while back with the intention of turning it into a track only car due to a change in circumstances i'm considering giving it some rego and driving it daily. I bought the car off a mate who bought it from the auctions and it was a theft recovery. before buying I entered the VIN into vicroads website to make sure and it came back as not stolen (yay!!) What I am wondering is: if I can get a RWC for the car, would the registration process be just the same as any other vehicle, or would the be a whole shitload of other processes involved since it was once listed as stolen??

could it be boost cut?? my car did it when I first got it, might wanna try a Fuel cut defender ( cheap as from any import wreckers)

i'd be more worried about the turbo than the engine. i accidentally did the same thing servicing my mum's camry, it made nasty noises, crushed up the porcelain and spat it out the exhaust. put a new plug in, started and ran fine after that. your main concern are bits of porcelain getting stuck in your turbine, but u never know your luck, if you can still boost it then chances are it was crushed up so fine that is passed straight through the turbine and out your exhaust. put a new plug in and try your luck I say

whilst you're shopping around might want to give rajab a try, they have had some fkn quick rb30s through there

hi ho, hi ho, it's off to We go!!

may take u up on that offer trent, but I will put do the exhaust and fuel pump first save making 2 trips. Im starting to think the haltech map isn't the problem. The previous owner of this car appears to have made an absolute abortion of the wiring loom. Just check out the connection on the TPS, this doesn't look normal to me.

it shows 2.5v at 0 throttle and the same at wide open throttle??

So I bought myself a Haltech platinum pro plugin ECU for my car (R33 GTST s1) This is the first aftermarket ECU iv'e ever put on any car ever, and I tried installing it myself, and just to get it running well enough to drive it to the tuner's to get a full proper tune up done (trent @ status i hope ur reading this). So i plug the ecu in, upload the RB25 base map that came with the software and I encountered these 2 problems. 1: The f**ker wont start, with the stock ecu its fine, but with the haltech it just cranks and cranks but wont start. 2: The readings are wrong, with the throttle completely closed the gauge in the software says 53.7% throttle, shouldn't it say 0?? Is there something I'm missing here, because I thought the term plug n play meant exactly that. I wasn't expecting it to run perfectly since it's only a base map, but it should start right?? Is there something aftermarket ecu's don't do that factory ones do eg. fuel pump relay?? Or should I just concede that this is all over my head and hand it off to trent who could probably fix it easily (just trying to save you time and me money here mate)

R31 Cross Member Swap?
Big X replied to stufeet's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
putting an SR20 s13 crossmember in an R31 is a piece of piss. go to an engineering shop with your s13 xmember, and ask them to move the front hole forward 35mm. I found that the crossmember slots straight onto the standard mounting studs and when fitted with an SR, it sits right back almost touching the firewall, right where you want it -
that's a f**king lot of heat wrap there...... just ceramic coat the bartard, does a better job and looks HEAPS better

one thing i've always wondered. if "staffy" is short for "staffordshire terrier" and it is, I looked it up and staffordshire is a region of england...... then how do you get an "American Staffy" looks like a pitbull staffy x good way to dodge the ban on pitbulls i spose
