Well after reading the bit about a member here who got done for 3km/h over I'm glad I got my detector. In other news, my detector just saved me a fine today. Was behind some douche in an old Falcon driving 10km/h under who then like your typical arseholes encountered in Perth everyday decides to speed up to speed limit while I was about side by side trying to overtake him (at speed limit). Thought to myself, "f**k this" & was about to just lead foot it to complete the overtake, however around this time my detector went off so I backed off the throttle & sure enough we went past a speed camera. Saved me $150 & 2 points I recoken, would probably have gone to past 9km/h over if I lead foot it to complete the overtake. The thing is starting to pay for itself already.

^ LOL I reckon that Camry can keep up with a N/A skyline in traffic light GP...

$550. Can get it cheaper if you shop directly from US, but I think they refuse to ship it to here & hence you need to use a 3rd party shipping agent place thing. The other thing I've noticed is that Cops don't seem to turn their speed detectors in their cars on at all, as I never get any kind of reads when they drive by.

My V1 arrived last week. Went & drove around a bit on the freeway & it did pick up the laser speed cam systems with about a 5 second window. Enough for you to slow down if you weren't overally speeding, which is all I wanted.

V37 is the best N/A skyline atm imo. Depends on what state you live in, if you are in a state with P-plate car restrictions then doing up an N/A R32-34 is just a waste of money.

Theres a lot more un-roadworthy everyday boxes with bland tires, worn out brake pads, leaking oil etc etc compared to some dude with a Skyline that is too low, has aftermarket ECU or atmo BOV (even if it sounds wanker, it doesn't endanger anyone).

Almost owned my car for 4 years now (starting from my P-plate days) & never got sent to the pits. Defectable stuff include the usuals suspects: high flow Cat, FMIC (steath return flow black one, although still had to trim the reo bar a bit), boost controller, SAFC 2, 2 gauges stuck onto the dash with double sided tape , the brake light on the spoiler doesn't work (never did, but the other 4 works). Got pulled over a couple of times for random license checks/RBTs, but the Police here never seem to care.

2) Would be more dependand on the actual condition of the car than anything else. Sounds like your friend picked up an dud. I've mine boosted to 10 PSI (ok not 12) + the support mods + basic SAFC tune & it has being fine running in this state even after ~3years (& I give it a lead foot from time to time). Also last time I checked engine compression (last year) it was all pretty stable around 160PSI across all cylinders. The only thing that keeps on breaking in my car is the f**king A/C... 3) Up to you really, I bought mine stock as all the modified ones where over my budget at the time. If I were to buy a again, I would probably pick up one with the basic stuff done so you can save some $$$ there.

For a second ago, I thought you were describing a Camry... As far as I know, majority of GW utes are bought as company cars for tradies which gets changed after warranty expires. My dad's old work place's Mazda BT2600 ute managed to live past 250,000km with f**k all servicing (get serviced like every 40k - 60k km) or when something actually broke (like the alternator belt was almost worn down to nothing). Was still working when the company went bankrupt & sold as scrap to the wreckers.

I used free xp to get the final 120 gun for the T28 & my final verdict is still the same: "useless slow heavy paper weight rubbish" & "I wasted my gold on this POS?!" Can't rely on the so called '254mm' frontal armor at all since the useless thing has too many weak spots at the front & get pentrated frequently even by a Tiger H & its too dam slow so if you are spotted you pretty much f**ked neither way. Played 10 games with it & already want to threw its useless US arse to the bin (like that Panther I had for 10 games, sold shortly after in the same day). Only thing stopping me doing it is that I already wasted gold on it... EDIT: screw the gold, just sold its arse regardless, buying back my T25 AT.

Just "downgraded" from my T25 AT to a T28 TD... useless slow paper weight. I want my T25 AT back! Also thinking off selling off that 1/2 useless "pretending to be a med but fails" IS-8 to fund for IS-7.

From what I read, the V1 still picks up the new current laser based system; poliscan or what ever it is called. Although the warning distance is a bit hit or miss. Cops with laser hand held guns almost never get picked up far enough until it is too late & rear facing cameras too. EDIT: I just ordered one from the US a while back still waiting for it to arrive.

I don't think my R33 would fair much better in comparsion...

Which store did u buy yours from? All the 'cheap' stores near me seem to be out of stock.

Didn't expect so many responses. Cheers people. Care to explain more in detail on the differences between VRX/GT vs ES/SX? Dam about the tuning though... bummer. Seem to be the majority of the bunch in my budget. Car will mainly be used for a 50/50 driving to work duty (shared with the Skyline) & then long distance driving. Fast in gear acceleration is pretty much the only 'performance' requirment at this stage. Trying to avoid imports this time. You're right, noob mistake I made there, the 4 speed boxes were all BAs (I somehow saw the MK II behind the ads & assumed it to be a BF, that & I can't see much difference between the 2 from the looks). Prices in WA seems higher in general. Majority of XR6Ts that is well below my budget are all BAs with a few BF MK 1s sitting at the $20k mark. I read somewhere that the MK 2 BFs had stronger engine internals (used FPV stuff) & hence better potential for squeezing more killerwasps from? Maybe I should buy a BF MK2 over the east next time I go over for a holiday or something, & then drive it back... LOL Those seem to be really rare, & I'm trying to avoid imports this time & just buy something local. I did look at them but the biggest let down for me is that besides the current VEs, all the past SS commos came with an old 4 speed box without tiptronic function. I like the car to have a more modern 5/6 speed auto with tiptronic (one of the main reasons I was looking at Ford in the 1st place as the 6 speed ZF is considered to be one of the best atm). I'm lazy 95% of the time & would just leave it in D & just floor it if I need to overtake anybody, but for that 5% when I feel like playing around with the gears I like that option there. Otherwise I quit like the SS commodores styling over the similar year Falcon/380/Aurion. Cheers for that, I somehow always assumed Liberties to be more expensive than that... hmm might look into it.

My ping is always at 300ms. I heard/read that people over the East states get ~220 to 250ms.

Hi people. As you may or may not have heard/read on "Ask Bird the wise man thread" I was originally in the market with $30k looking for a FG XR6T or FPV. However shit happened (for one thing certain parts of the Skyline is broken again & since I'm retarded & can't use a spanner this means it is that time of the year in my life to pour crap load of $$$ to get it fixed) & my budget has dropped to $20k, which at this range can only get me old BA or earlier BF XR6Ts which all had the aging 4 speed auto box, which from what I have read is garbage & I'm trying to avoid. So I started to look at some Jap alternative relatively powerful family sedans & with our resident mod mad082 always mentioning his old Mangna with cat back at the drags put a time which can rivial a stock GTS-T, the 380 has caught my attention. The fact that they have horrible resale value is a big + for me, quick carsales search shows that I can get upper range GT /VXR models with all the fancy crap (leather, sun roof, reverse sensors etc etc) for $16-18k or so & all the base models (ES) hover around the $10k-$12k range. This compared to the Aurion (the other one I was looking at) which seem to only start at close to $20k for base models. So has anyone owned one of these? & what is your opinion on it? Also how well does it respond to mods (or at all?). Cheers.

KV-3 is easily my favourite T7 tank now. In the ideal game (I'm the only T7 everyone is T6 or lower + no/little arty) it is pwnage time! The upgraded 122mm can KO lower tiers in 1 hit & the reload time is much improved over the old 122 it had back in T6. It also gets a beasty T9 engine upgrade so the speed is decent for a heavily armored heavy. Only real problem is the terrible turrent rotation & you will get T50s swarming around you like files, but I usually ignore them (unless there is arty) as they can't pentrate you pretty much anywhere with their pee-size guns.
