Worn out radiator cap not holding pressure?
-
I'm used to the fatty Lowe so Tiger 2's slow stock speed don't really bother me much. My favorite is the Lowe, always end up with a +ve net profit (Tiger 2 is costing me $$$ almost every match unless I win & don't die or get damaged too much as the repair cost is insane!). But dam I missed out on the cheap module prices for my Tiger 2!

Got Tiger 2. Good armor & crap stock gun, don't do enough damage, took me ages to kill off a T32 (while 1/2 of his shots all bounced off my armor).

As long as the car is kept in good condition then it will do the trip fine just like any other car. Being a Skyline don't make any difference. I've made several trips from Perth to Albany (~450km one way) & back several times this year & my car never had any problems. EDIT: Also your engine should much better cooled at country road speed compared to constantly start stop traffic since you got constant cold air flowing through the radiator which is many times more than what the clutch fan can provide.

Moving To Perth From Melbourne - Some Advice Needed!
Mayuri Krab replied to DRVSLW's topic in Western Australia
From my experience the Cops I encoutered are pretty leninet & don't give out yellows as much as their Vic counter parts do... Once I got pulled over for speeding (128 in 110 zone), the cop came around, saw all my gauges mounted on the dash (with double sided tape ), didn't say anything. Then noticed my horn wasn't working (which is 100% defectable) but he decided to just leave it & give me the speeding fine only & said to get it fixed ASAP as he can give me a yellow for it. Also don't you guys over there have special cop units that do nothing but pull imports over & defect them? I think its called operation Taipan or something? -
I believe that fan only kicks in when your engine is above a certain temperature AND you have your A/C on. Thats how mine has always been anyway... EDIT: Before I got my A/C repaired I used to drive around windows down in 40C+ weather (not pleasant ) & I never noticed it spinning, however once I got the A/C fixed I started noticing it kicking in at certain times when driving with A/C on. Usually when I'm idling at the lights & the engine temperature goes up by a couple of degrees.

On my 2nd tank now, I seem to get slightly worser fuel economy on it. 12.5 - 13.5 with Caltex vs 14.5 on the Shell stuff.

Problem with it is the hype bulid up. Most stuff will almost never live up to their hype.

But the game is 'free' already?

+1 Sounds more like your stereotypical ape bogan.

So I'm going to get a i7 2600k along with a Z68 mobo of some kind just wondering what is a good aftermarket cooler for it? I currently have a Zalman for my Q6600, seem to work fine. Also what is currently the best bang for buck SSD out? Looking at the $250 - $350 mark. Only need 60Gb or so as it is only to be a OS drive. I'm getting a 600GB raptor for my games & all my old HDDs will carry over as storage drives. My current gen 1 SSD is starting to die I think (randomly windows will freeze up & upon reboot, windows disk checker will pick up & fix some random corrupted files on the main OS drive).

Too lazy to get my manual license now... My next car is likely to be a auto falcodore anyway.

+1 I would love to just flick my lights on every time the traffic lights turn red or I need to make a illegal U-turn somewhere... Once I saw a police car speeding ~130km/h on the freeway in the right lane, without sirens or lights & I think he was off duty since it was only 1 guy in the car (shouldn't there be 2 of them if they were on duty?). After he went past me, I merged behind him & sped up to about 110km/h & he managed to scare all your usual right lane hoggers doing under speed limit off from that lane & I got home 5 minutes faster due to that.

I don't think we have them in WA, the only Police setup stations I've seen are your typical RBT buses & drug test. Also from watching some old news, you guys also have some kind of special Police task force who's solo purpose is to pull cars (mostly imports) over & defect them, I think they are called operation Tapan or something? Again we don't seem to have those in WA (thank god!)

Can you explain in more detail? I thought the harsh changes where due to replacing stock ECU which backs off timing before auto changes gear with a stand-alone aftermarket one, which doesn't do that. But since you retain the stock ECU wouldn't that mean this 'back off timing function' is kept as well?

How well do they work as a piggy back? I've an auto & I'm looking at a possible high flow turbo in the near future (nothing major, only aiming for about 220 - 230rwkw) & I'm a bit stuck on ECU choice. Since no stand along aftermarket ECU works properly with a R33 auto (as far as I know from reading old threads), & some old suggestions was running a combo of SAFC + STIC, however the latter is nimpossiblebile to find. The other one was to run a Emanage Ultimate, but I found most tuners around my area dislike them for some reason, so no point getting it if I can't get a decent tune out of it. I talked to my tuner about the issue & he reckons a micro tech wired in piggy back would do fine with a stock high flow. Any opinions on this?

None from me. To me gauges are like watches, as long as it can read the current time within +/- 1/2 a minute then I will take my $5 China watch over some $1k German engineered super watch with accuracy in the mili-seconds... I got some Autogauge ones on my car.
-
Seem like they either don't know what they are on about or just trying to bend you over... I bought the black (stealth) return flow FMIC from Just Jap & got a local shop to install it (since I was too noob to DIY )& it was like $200 for the install. I dropped the car off in the morning & picked it up around lunch time so no idea where they get their 6-8 hour quote from...
-
Don't forgot my vote too...
-
Might be worthwhile getting aftermarket gauges as stock ones aren't known for great accuracy.

+1/0 While we are laughing at the Yanks for their "crazy gun laws", somewhere out there people are laugh at us for our "hoon laws & trash media"

+1 to rocker cover gaskets, mine leaked when I bought it as well. Owned for 2 years like that & had no problems (didn't really know much about cars at the time & was a noob), I finally got them changed & had no more oil stains around that area again. Mine had the optional PS leak. Do they actually leaking from the hoses themselves or the joints? When I took my air intake snorkel thing out I noticed a fair bit of PS fluid had dripped onto of my A/C compressor. I tightened the bolts up & it seem to have stopped it, however the PS hose & where it joints to other parts of the engine is still oily.

Do you have aftermarket steering wheel? Could be the sensor. I have aftermarket steering wheel & I found my HICAS to be a hit or a miss basically, when I was doing my ~400km trip to Albany, at 1st the HICAS light came on after about 1/2 hour of driving then when I stopped for a break (turned the car off) at the 150km mark the light didn't bother to come on for the reminder of the journey.

Hell, if you ever become a evil dictator, I'll support this...

Just tried V-power for the 1st time, can't tell any difference compared to BP or caltex on my stockish car. Which is a good thing I guess.
