  1. I have one of those The Asus G73: Intel i7, 8Gb DDR 3 Ram, ATI 5870m video chip, 2x500Gb SATAs. I got mine for ~$2.3k which makes it one of the 'better value' desknotes around for the performance. Only weakness would be the lack of SDDs in the Asus but it comes with 2 HDD bays & swapping HDDs is one of the few upgrades you can do to a laptop yourself. The Alienware is like a Veryon gaming laptop as you can config it to have the fastest video card configuration (dual 5870ms) while the Asus is more like a performance Jap import, not the fastest but good performance for the price.
  2. I drive my dad's Corolla harder than I do with my Skyline since you need to floor the sh*t out of the Corolla to actually get it up to speed... otherwise you get overtaken by trucks & buses
  3. I would get some 2nd hand stock rear pods to complete the stock body kit. Then Tint, then lowered if you want.
  4. Another one of these? Something something hooning... something something car impounded...
  5. So is this ban still coming or what? Being waiting for years now... to the point I don't give a f**k no more...
  6. My car has traction problems in the wet as well. Both times it happened just accelerating in a straight line: 1) Was accelerating from the lights used about ~40% throttle, came on boost & the rear wheels started to lose traction. 2) Car was already in 3rd gear & already doing ~50km/h with only ~15% throttle, put the foot down to about 28% throttle (SAFC 2 showed this) auto box didn't kick down to 2nd, but the car came on boost & I could feel the rear wheels losing traction as the back end of the car was pulling to wards left. Both of the times, I just lifted off the throttle & steered a bit in the opposite direction & the car fixed itself up. Now My lesson learned from those 2 incident is to never hit boost when its raining. I now drive like an 80 year old granny when it rains & haven't had any problems since.
  7. Put some stock looking rear pods on the car 1st, since you already have the stock side skirts as currently without the pods, when you look from the side the back end looks 'higher' off the ground compared to the rest of the car. For the looks department I personally would only get a stock-ish looking body kit (which your car has 1/2 of it already), wheels (you have already), black tints & maybe some personalized # plates, since I prefer a clean stock looking car. & you can lower it a bit, although I left my car at its stock Camry height as I would have trouble going down my driveway since it is on a steep angle & I fear I might have some parking accidents if I get mine lowered
  8. My car didn't came with any safety devices besides the good old seat belts I would like it to have ABS & traction control as the traction in the wet is horrible, need to drive extra slow otherwise the rear wheels will break traction. But on the other hand I don't see the point in traction control in my dad's Corolla, the engine is so low on torque you can't lose traction even if you floor it while the road is wet... only time it may lose traction is if you were driving super retarded in the rain or someone poured oil on the road.
  9. Tell that to all the apple fanboys (& fangirls?) they all think OSX is the best thing ever & windows is total sh*t.
  10. +1 the excess $$$ you pay for a Mac is mainly for their fancy OSX software anyway IMO. I got a Asus G73 gaming laptop for ~$2.3k, spec should be fast enough to run your design softwares. It came with 2 500Gb SATA HDDs, but you can swap one for a SSD. As far as I can see all the fastest laptops in the $3k+ range from Asus, Dell, Alienware etc etc are all aimed at gaming, besides a couple of fancy show off laptops with fancy $1k badges on them.
  11. Next time someone drive through the tunnel, can you pull over on the emergency stop lanes & take a photo please? Not sure If I'm even looking for the correct things at the correct places...
  12. WRGMGs? My goldfish died again!
  13. Just went down there, was the 'thing' on the right wall & not the ceiling? Saw something but not sure if I'm looking at the correct thing though... EDIT: Does that also explain why most people are driving 10km/h under?
  14. Do I detect a hint of jealousy? They sure are taking their take time though... I remember hearing this proposal being mentioned 2 years ago...
  15. I like to add a couple more: 33: Give way to soccer mums in 4x4s... after all they own the residential roads during school runs. 34: When accelerating from the lights, 0 to 60km/h should take several minutes at least, after all any kind of acceleration faster than that is 'excessive show of speed' in the eyes of the road saints, not to mention it will also help you save petrol (refer to RAC's green driving booklet). 35: When you are on Leech Highway & are next to a massive truck at the traffic lights it is only natural that you should take off & accelerate slower than it when the lights go green, after all you don't want to be done for 'excessive show of speed' do you? As for the banks of cars stuck behind you, well they can go F*CK themselves as you are doing the right thing for being a slow & safe driver. 36: Always use your fog lights to warn others on the road of your presence, even when there are no fogs. 37: When you see a police car in the distance, immediately slow down & drive 20km/h+ under the limit, that way you can show the good people of the law that you are dedicated in keeping the flow of traffic nice & slow... oh & not to mention safe! 38: Remember people, every km/h over the magical speed limit will cause massive car explosions, head & limbs flying & blood bursting everywhere...
  16. 17. I shall drive down the tunnel tomorrow & see for myself...
  18. This is the reason I kept all the stock parts that I have replaced with aftermarket ones in the garage just in case if I need them later on... Although my parents are telling me to get rid of them as I'm turning the garge into a rubbish dump
  19. Better not!
  20. I don't have a garage... F**ken screwed if it hits...
  21. I replaced my stock fuel pump with a Bosch 040 when the stock one died up the a**... no change on fuel efficiency. One thing I did notice was that the Bosch was much louder compared to the stock pump, I can hear a high pitched whining sound when its working while I'm outside the car, however my exhaust noise covers it up once I get inside.
  22. Also did that place also sold their own 'special CATs' that you will 'magically' pass if you buy it from them?
  23. My 33 feels like a speed boat compared to the ocean liner ships I have driven (Camry & Commodore).
