Cool thanks for the info That will probably explain the crappy radio reception problems I get (although my antenna still goes up); the radio fades out or losses reception completely from time to time (usually happens when the car stationary), but reception picks up again when the car is moving again.

Just Me Venting.. Why Buy Non Turbo..
Mayuri Krab replied to Nick.'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
For me, the best part is the 4 circle tail lights on the ass. Looks amazing at night when they all light up Thats how I took notice of the skyline in the 1st place (& eventually got me insterested to learn more abou them), while watching initial D. That black R32 GT-R 4 circle tail lights made it stand out from the other cars shown (which all had boring squarish tail lights...), too bad that guy who drives the GT-R in the anime sucks, he keeps on crashing it -
Penalties For Driving A Manual When Only Carrying An Auto Licence

What? So does that mean now you can't use someone else's drive way to do a 3 point turn now? -
Hey guys Just a quick question here. I got a new 3" turbo back exhaust installed, but like most people I have read on the forum, workshop didn't put the stock turbo heat shield back on when they installed the the exhaust. After some searching, most people are saying that the stock heat shield will fit regardless of what front/dump pipe is installed. So I'm going back there on saturday & see if they still got my heat shield along with my old exhaust bits & pieces, & I'll try & see if the heat shield will fit back on. But just in case it doesn't or they have binned it, will some thing like this fit the stock turbo? If it doesn't what kind of turbo blanket should I be looking at? I'm abit concerned for the plastic electrical bits & wires near the turbo, they get very hot after diriving the car for a while without any form of heat insulation around the turbo, don't want them to melt & cause a short or fire. I have included a picture of the turbo & the pipe. On a side note, why does my turbo look like a rusted bucket of crap, compared to the other parts of the engine? While I was searching on the topic I came across another member's engine bay & his turbo is nice & shiny

Hey guys While I was fixing up the "water leaking into my boot" issue on my car, I removed most of the plastic carpet bits around & I found this plug hanging there (see pic), anyone have any idea what this is for? I can't seem to find any area where its suppose to plug into. Im guessing its either for the antenna or for the LED lights in the spoiler? (the lights on my spoiler don't work) Any ideas what this plug is supposed to be? Thanks

As others have said, use that black window sealant thing instead of silicone as it doesn't hardern over time therefore making it easy to remove it if required later on. Also that stuff is alot less sticky than the OEM Nissian black thing. Theres a DIY here on how to remove the tail lights. Also another note, do you notice any water being left in the reverse & blinker light areas in the leaking head light? If it is yes, then you will need to remove the head light & dirll holes on the bottom of the plastic to let the water out as otherwise if you just reseal the light, water will bulid up inside the lights and will eventually flood out through the openings where the light bulbs go in. This happened to my car, 1st it was leaking through the black goo area, after I took the lights out (took 4ever to remove all that black crap Nissian put in ) & resealed it with the window sealant. It started to leak water into the boot by means of flooding the area where reverse & blinker lights are & water going into the boot through the area where the light bulbs are located. So I had to remove that tail light off again (was much easier this time though, due to the fact that window sealant thing is no were near as sticky as the OEM Nissian black goo) & got my dad to drill a couple of holes on the bottom & I haven't had a leaking boot so far.

My understanding is with the exception of WA & NT, all other states in Australia have car restrictions for P platers. Ie its either you are banned from driving most turbo or V8 or its the power to weight ratio thing.

Not the case for me, as I said b4, originally I just wanted a skyline coz I liked their look and call me a newbie if you want, but back then when I was looking for one I knew jack all about them at all, just that they were "the cars shown in initial D that had 4 circle tail lights" & wanted one coz I liked their look. I didn't know anything about the GT-R's circuit racing records or anything about its "legends" back then, when I bought my car, so I can't be a poser trying to make a GTS-T look like a GT-R when I don't know anything about the subject I'm "supposed" to be posing... If you want to talk about posers, I can think of plenty from my family friends (they don't never like cars) who buys 'cheapo' BMW 318s & try to show off as being rich coz they own Beemers... Nah, some things are likeable & beautiful just sitting there. I bought a skyline with the intention of just using it for A-B corolla duites (without having to drive a corolla) & its doing just that nicely. On the more serious note, theres no safe place to fully boost the car on the streets anyway. With all that hoon propaganda going around & brainwashing the general community, you will probably end up getting your car impounded. Theres the drag strip option, but I'm not really that interested in taking my car there & fully booting the crap out of it. I'm not really interested in what time it will run. All I care is that it "feels" fast enough for me compared to my old cars, that I used to drive (91 VN commodore & a 02 Camry), then its good enough for me. EDIT: spelt corolla wrong >_> -

Having owned a GTS-T for almost 2 years now (no car restriction here for P-paters at WA so I bought one literally 2 weeks after I got my Ps ) theres one thing that pops up in mind with regarding to turbo & N/A cars. 1st off I always wanted a skyline (actually got that after watching initial D, for some reason that black R32 GT-R stood out from the other cars from the anime... must be because of the 4 circle tail lights LOL ) & I just want one for basic A-B duites. With my granny driving style, the only time I hit the 1st stage boost (5psi) is when accelerating onto the free way (60 to 100) which only last for a about a second or so. I have yet to hit the 2nd stage boost (7psi) as I have never revved the car past 4500rpm. So in all other times its pretty much the same as driving a N/A car seeing how I don't hit boost doing daily A-B shopping duty drives. So in my particular case, whether its turbo or not doesn't really bother me. But seeing how most GTS-Ts goes for about the same price as the N/A, its better value for money to get the turbo versions. -
My car doesn't have that black spot. It has some unknown brand fart canon & the rest is pretty stock.

Oh this is some sh*T news... & I just booked in to get a new turbo back exhaust fitted at hyper drive next thurday. Somehow I'm believe all those rust buckets I see driving around with black smoke comming out from their exhaust will NEVER get send to do the test by the cops...

Was it a soccer mum? I saw one who was driving her oversized truck on the middle of the road taking up 2 lanes.

Have mic (although never used it b4), prefer COD 4/5, L4D & Grid (in that order of preference) -
^ LOL I wish some cop will hand me his car & police powers Then I'll be going a rampage defecting soccer mums in 4x4s & Hyundai excels

Get my car serviced by the local mechanical every 5000km using standard semi-synthetic oil. Being working fine for over a year using this type of oil. Oil pressure stays identical & behaves identically to when I 1st got the car. Oil pressure is at 6 when engine is cold, once it warms up it idles at 2 & then will stay between 2 to 6 depending on my driving.
-
You got a point there On my way back home last Saturday, while waiting to turn right at a traffic lights, saw a incoming 4x4 soccer mum getting pulled over by the cops for speeding, I was tempted to go over & tell the cops "good job, glad to see you not only picking on imports & the lot" but didn't end up doing it. They might end up sticker-ing me for my boost gauge

What exactly are being introduced in the new laws again? Haven't being paying much attention...
-
Theres your problem right there... I'm betting $20 that its a base v6 model but the owner thinks his driving a V8 super car.

Have steam Game list include COD4 COD4.5 TF Left 4 Dead Killing Floor UT3 UT2004 But I suck... probably gonna get owned by everyone.

Did the cops actually caught the thief? -Or- I wouldn't be surprised if the guy actually went to the cops himself & wanted to sue the OP for bashing him... seeing how we have the "protection for scumbag" laws around. I remember reading from somewhere about some thief who broke into someone's house but injured himself in the process, & a few days later the owner of the house got sued by the thief & he demanded the owner pay a compensation for his injuries. Talk about f*cked up...

With laws like these, I'm surprised that everyone haven't all ditched their proper jobs & all become thieves. Also +1 "catching" that flamin mongrel.

The majority of females I know all likes BMWs & Mercs coz apparently they demonstrates that the driver is rich & has a higher social status than everyone else who isn't in a Merc or Beemer. Also the Asian + Doctor equation comes into play here.
