+1 Depends on what you compare it with, it might not seem that fast when compared with other modded imports, but compared with your everyday mummobile Camrys & such they are a hell lot faster (& better, I should add ) Thats cheap, I just changed my insurance cover from 3rd party to full comp & JC is charging me ~$2k (& $2.5k for excess) on my stockish (only mod worth mentioning is the fart cannon) auto R33 & I had no fines so far as well. Guess the fact that I'm still on my Ps (did my driving test really late) is the killer here

32bit OS can only addresses up to of 4Gb of memory (which is mainly made up of your system Ram + video card ram), so if you have a 1Gb video card, windows will "see" a max of 3Gb system ram. If you want more than this 4Gb limit you need a 64bit OS which is either Vista or XP 64bit. I'll try & be the fanboy then , buy/bulid a i7 based system coz I'm getting one sometime soon & if no one gets one & I'm the only one, then that makes me look like a moron... nah, but seriously theres very little point in upgrading to i7 atm... Like what R31Nismoid said, airflow is one. Another very important one I found is, if you are buliding the system yourself get atleast a 1/2 decent branded case otherwise buliding it is gonna be a pain in the a*se. I didn't believe this, till a family friend asked me to bulid him a PC & he wanted to save $ on anything thats not "essential", so I made the mistake of buying a $35 no brand cheapo case... Man that thing was a dam nightmare to work with, instead of using metal screws on the base of the case where the mobo gets screwed on, this cheapo case used some crappy plastic plug things, which break really easily & when I finally got most of these plugs in, the last hole didn't line up probably, so in the end I had to leave a hole unscrewed on the mobo as otherwise if I force it to fit, the mobo will bend. Along that, the other problems with the case included, holes for the screws for the PSU didn't line up right either, there is no way to just remove one front metal bar thing to install a Optical drive, instead I had to remove the entire front face to just remove that one metal bar so I can install one optical drive... In the end, it took a whole days of work to get that PC assembled when I thought at most it should have only taken a couple of hours at most.

Was this switch optional from factory? Coz my S1 didn't have one (nor a dimmer switch), my friends S2 had both & some other S1 & S2s I saw in the for sales section had this switch as well?

You need a 64bit processor, which is any new CPU atm & goes all the way back to the original AMD Athlon 64 or the 64bit versions of the Pentium 4 for Intel (The 600 series I believe?) On the topic of Vista, it got a lot better compatibility wise with service pack 1.

I remember a while back while I was waiting at Nandos I was flicking through the pile of newspaper there & found this article where it talks about how the cops found a holden ute doing close to 100km/h in a 40 zone so they stopped the ute & did the hoon law on him & took his car away. The problem is the driver is a 70yr old flamin mongrel, who started complaining to the cops, & he even made the remark that he is a good driver & that the hoon laws shouldn't target people like him (coz his old), it should target younger drivers & their cars. Some f***** nerve his got to speak like that, he even mentioned that his going to court regarding this matter & getting his car back. If you ask me, if they do bring in the crushing a hoon's car law here, the cops should crush his car asap & ban him from driving for life. His attitude totally pisses me off End rant.

I'm using diskeeper (vr10) for my HDD defrags, found it to be much faster than the windows one & you can schedule it when to defrag.

If you are only using the drive to store movies & <cough> porn <cough>, then I wouldn't bother with it. If you are using the drive for both OS & storage, then I would divide it into a small partition for OS & the larger one for you other *stuff*. Just to keep it more "organized" Either way, don't over partition a HDD, as it will slow down performance (keep it at about 3 max) as the head has to travel all over the place to look for the relevant stuff on the disc. PS: you do realize that you mentioned porn twice right?

The latest news from Stephen Conroy is that the live trial of the filter has being delayed to some time mid Jan next year (was suppose to start before Xmas). Conroy also mentioned that they are thinking of putting p2p filtering into the filter. The fact that Conroy suddenly mentioned p2p into the filter & he specifically mentioned Bit Torrent is a pretty good indication to me that one of the main master mind behind the filter idea is the media & copyright lobby groups. All that "Protecting the children" speech from Conroy was just for press release. So far iinet & oputs have confirmed that they will be taking part in the live trials, if it ever gets started... Well I did , whether its my mum's Camry or my Skyline (in fact I found I'm more careless when driving the Camry since I don't really care about it that much), I still drive like a Grandpa. I bought a Skyline because I always wanted one. I almost never hit boost when I'm driving around, the only time I hit minor boost is when overtaking oversize trucks or people doing 20km/h under the limit on the right lane

I just picked up the game for my PC from my usual source, but haven't bothered to install it yet. Might give it a shot tonight...
