Well I just came back from my local police station & filed the report, the lady there said, the cops will work it out & determine who is at fault & sent out infringement notices. Called my insurance company, told them the situation, & they say it sounds like the other car is at fault but since I'm only on 3rd party, they can't fix my car & told me to ring the other guy's insurance company, which I did & they told me to wait until he has lodged a claim & depending on both sides of the story, they will have to work out who's at fault & if its not very clear they will have to investigate (which I hope a police infringement notice should be good enough proof). I called the other guy, he hasn't even done his report yet (he didn't know you could get the forum off the net... ) nor has he lodged a claim... he thought his insurance company got told by the towing company... This is probably gonna take a while... On the bright side, at least Uni finished (just got exams left) & I happened to take a 3wk break off from work so I shouldn't need to travel as much as I used to. Like Marge Simpson said: "I guess at a time like this, all you can do is laugh..." <sits there with a blank look for 1/2 hr> A new front bumper would be nice, but since it would be the other guy's insurance company fixing my car, they probably go for the cheapest route. Fixing it or a 2nd hand bumper I'm guessing. Thanks man -Edit: typos-

The tow guy said a bar or something got bent around the wheel area (forgot the name of the thing, still a noob on car structures ). He said its not a good idea to drive around with it, espeically to get back home from where the accident took place I need to go onto the freeway. I guess thats not really "minor" & I used the wrong word? I'm only comparing this to the other car, his whole bumper pretty much came off due to the shock of the impact. I perfer the stock one (or a stockish looking aftermarket one), as if I only change the front to a different one then it would look out of place compared to the rear bumper (my friend's wrx was a good example of this, his after market front bumper looked liked a gaint lump compared to his stock rear , & most after market bumpers makes the car too low to the ground without you actually lowering & I'm not a fan of lowering anyway.), but hopefully they can just beat it back into place somehow, as only the front left side of the bumper got scrapped & pushed, rest of the bumper is ok.

Man, that would have sucked, sorry to hear about that. I better go & redraw it, diagrams were never my strong point in highschool . Didn't see any people around during the crash, people all came out from bulidings after they heard the big bang Cheers for the info, PS: your post count was 888!, thats a good sign, you gonna be rich

Ok this is not a rant post: So I had a minor car accident today, the front left side of the car crashed onto the front right side of the other vehicle. I called the cops asap at the scene but they said since it isn't a major accident they wouldn't come & just told us to exchange details and file a crash report at the nearest police station asap. The other guy called for tow truck and the tow truck driver told me to contact my insurance company asap to tell them that they have towed my car to their panel repair shop. I just finished filling in the crash report forum that I downloaded off the WA police site & I'll go to file it tommorrow & call insurance. I want to know what happens after that? How do they work out who's at fault if the crash scene has being moved already & how long would it take for them to work that out? If they are gonna take a long time (which I have feeling they will), I'll probably phone the tow place & get them to tow my car back to my house as I read that they charge $10/day for keeping it. I'll ask them that when I get there tommorrow but I just want some quick info b4 hand. Could anyone tell me the basic flow of things? Thanks.

Checked the AV shops? like west coast Hifi & the like? Pretty sure you can find one there. LOL, you do know that even the ones you buy from local AV shops are most likely made in china
-
You should be fine as long as you know what you are getting, & buy from local salers' (in AU) with good rep. Having said that, I have seen people sells all kinds of dodge crap there. Like a Quad Core E6550, that like saying I'm selling an original factory N/A GT-R.

I'll keep that mind if I ever become rich... & got nothing better to do with my $ Bring on camry pwnage!!!

Depends on your driving style I guess I was happy with just 3rd party coz of my granny driving style. Those years of driving the 1/2 dead VN have permanently turned me into a granny driver for life

Not bad, but for a similar amount of $ you can build one with a Intel C2D which is faster overall. & they can be OCed easily while the AMD are pretty much @ their max frequency already. Prices were taken from MSY Intel C2D E8400 ~$220 Gigabyte P35 DS3P ~$155 2Gb kit 1066mhz Ram ~$75 512mb 8800GTS ~$325 All up $775. Also do you need new hard drives? & How big is your LCD? For a system like that, make sure you have at least a GOOD quality 500w PSU (with a amp rating of over 20Amps on the 12V rail). Also you might want to check out the PC building section on http://whirlpool.net.au/ for more info.

Fuel for me was ~$80 every week or every 1.5 week Insurance was $300 for basic 3rd party, ~$500 for 3rd party + fire & theft or $1.5k for full. (I'm 21, on P & no accident history) Rego was $440 for 1 year. & major service cost me $550 at local shop.

I can't help it... I hate hatchbacks (except the subaru 1800, well thats more of a wagon) LOL . I don't mind if its a Honda (or even hyundai... well maybe a little...) that pwned a GT-R... but why couldn't it be a sedan instead of a hatch. Now if only someone could tune my Camry to pwn a R35, then I'm happy. <h2 class="r"> </h2>

Hatch Civics still look ugly to me... & look is already 1/2 of the battle. Now if they would tune the new sedan civics with that amount of boost, then me want one

Like other have said, VLC is one of the best (& easiest) player to setup (well just DL & install, no setup needed). Since it has most of the codecs built in, it plays most of the file formats out there. The other player I like is media player classic, with the right codecs I prefer it over VLC, main thing is that when you get the Real media codec (Real player is a pos) it comes with MPC.

Yeah, thats what it is for. Snow mode disables 1st gear, so you start from 2nd, in other words you take off really slow. My auto R33 has this as well, also a power mode.

How Many Litres On Average You Putting In On Empty
Mayuri Krab replied to Pattygtst's topic in General Maintenance
I get around 450km b4 the the needle hits the bottom of E, but I think I still have around 10L left. My stock R33 uses 13-14L/100km, thats mainly city driving. The only fuel I have filled the car to full is Vortex 98, since its usually the cheapest RON98 around my area (with 4c off thing). -
Another +1 for hating trucks. Espeically the ones where they go hell slow (more than 10km/h under limit), when you are behind them but as soon as they see you changing lanes to overtake they f*cken speed up! As*holes /End rant/

Thats because, some of the new movies released have new additional copy protections (like bad sectors) in conjuction with the standard CSS protection. & since DVD-shrink is no longer being developed (Dam a*seholes of the MPAA threatened to sue the maker of the program), dvd shrink can't rip these new type of discs. I think I might give those DVD to Dvix/Xvid programs a try, was looking for one to rip my friend's futurama dvd collection to standard xvid .
-
98 is recommanded (& must for modded cars), but I think you can get away with 95 for fairly stock car. Well I only use 98 (BP ulitmate & Vortex 98), a friend from work uses regular 95 on his 180sx & it seems to run fine. Then again, his car does seem to sh*t itself everynow & then... not sure if its the fuel though.

If you are only interested in copying DVDs & not interested in editing the content then DVD shrink is good. & its free. You can copy (it will automatic decode the CSS copy protection) & you can choose either to copy directly to a blank DVD (u need to have nero installed for this), copy it to a iso image file (which you can then burn it to blank disc with any burning program you want) or rip it to the hard drive (the video & audio TS files). You can also choose to shrink the dvd to fit on standard dvd-5 blanks (4.7gb) as most dvd moives are dvd9 (dual layer). For a more advanced program use something like DVD FAB (basic version is free, but it only has the ripper, not the burner. pro version costs $, or u can mininova it ). It has the option to split dvd movies up so you can fit a dvd9 movie on to 2 dvd5 blanks without compressing & i'm pretty sure it has the option to join files back togegther. The other thing it has over DVD shrink is that it can copy & crack the new copy protections used in some of the new DVDs which shrink can't decode. Hope this helps.

Building New Pc - 1 Question - Help Please!
Mayuri Krab replied to Owgasm's topic in PC & Games Discussion
Hardly anyone do, not even gamers. Only reason I got a Quad (Q6600) was coz, none of my local com shops (austin, netplus, mcg & ple) had the E8400 in stock when I was buliding my com & I didn't really want to order online. Quad is only really useful if you are a pro doing heavy HD video encoding & stuff like auto cad. Programs like those are more multi threaded than most games, which are all pretty much GPU bound most of the time. btw, congraz on your new system. I see I'm not the only one with 1 terrabyte of space -
Man, sorry to hear about this. That guy is a total c*nt! I mean wtf, drove off, isn't that illegal to drive off after you are in a accident. Hope he gets fined big time & get fired. Whats up with taxi drivers, I almost crashed into one as well, on my way to uni once, I was on wanneroo road & this ford taxi saw me comming (atleast i think he bothered to look), but just turns right into my lane. Lucky I was in my "granny" driving mood that (driving granny style) time & stopped in time. Man, i gotta say, I don't think i even knew this.

My R33 is my daily car (only car). Gets driven pretty much everyday, has done close to 5000 km since I bought it last Dec. I use around 3/4 a tank a week. & thats 95% "normal" driving
