  1. Started the main priming stage today. Did the bonnet, boot, and guards in etch primer and put a coat of filler primer on this avo. Typing this with red raw fingers, bloody sanding aahhhh
  2. Hey stagefumer 11 where in NZ are you from and how much HP do you reckon you'll get from the L28et? Ricky
  3. Some of the back end painted
  4. Harvo, is it the one here in Perth that was in the Quokka?
  5. The sill in, Wish i had more room. Having to stack doors (bloody heavy too) on the boot, they must weigh about 40kg each. shame you have to have them, love to replace them with fibreglass and hope never to get hit side on.
  6. How do you know this stuff? and yes that's correct. someone else gave me a similar response on the Japan thread. Thanks for the input ,it's good to know a little about the bits and pieces tacked on to ya motor. Ricky.
  7. Sometimes the rust has just gottta go. Thankfully I work with some very generous sheetmetal workers. This area had been badly bogged, thus the rust had a field day. Now it's been rust treated and sprayed with zinc it. The new sill will be welded in with a bit of glass and putty on the sides.
  8. What do reckon, it's flexible enough to wrap around snuggly. I will have to trim a little off the outer side as it makes the dam sit up off the boot as seen in the side on pic
  9. Sand blasted the front gaurds at work yesterday, glassed, bogged and etch primed today. Tomorrow it's the sills. Someones already done a poxy bog job on them in the past so i"ll have to grind it out, rust treat it and more glassing. Got given a GTR XU1 boot air dam and guess what? it fits quite nicely strangely enough. The curve is so similar to the 210s boots curve that it won't take much to have it sit nicely. I'll put up a pic at the end of the day. Not sure what colour to paint it, the car will be white and the cooktop light assembley will be changed from grey to white also. Should i paint the dam white or black?
  10. Onya Primo, I just googled Goku and found several threads from the nissan club.com regarding Goku parts, headers and manifolds. Goku is a animated monkey god who is involved with the Z King. My motor is a (280Z )motor that came from NISMO with triple webers and tuned length exhaust already attached. That"s enough info to convince me. Cheers Ricky.
  11. My triple weber maniflod and 2" tuned extractors have these symbols on them. Any ideas?
  12. Could be something in that ghostracer, I just googled eastbear and they do performance stuff for nissans.
  13. I'd rather die driving it, hahahaha
  14. Perth being very multiculral, I'm sure there must be a Skyline driver who is Japanese or has Japanese parents. Can someone please tell me what this says. It's stamped on my intake manifold and extractors. ARIGATO. Ricky .
  15. Hey Dodgsun, I'd love to do that trip, but running triple webers! 1 tank may get me 300k's if they're perfectly in tune and I change my diff ratio from 3.94 to 3.5. I will more than likely take the train across which is a good trip also, done it a few times.Hopefully a large group from W.A will go, anyway it's a while off yet.
  16. Have you got left and right front gaurds that are in really good condition? Ricky.
  17. Works 510, the S54B or the 1965 GTB Skyline ran the G7 1988cc L6 cylinder motor and triple 40mm webers producing 127 HP Google The Skyline Series or S54 Skyline Wikipedia.
  18. My intake manifold and 2" tuned length extractors have this stamped on them.Any ideas?
  19. Anybody know what this says. It's stamped on both the inlet manifold and the 2" tuned length extractors.
  20. Drew, the whole thing was built by NISMO, a crate motor from Japan.Carbs and inlet manifold came with the motor along with tuned length extractors The overbore to 3.0ltr had already been done by nismo. About a year before I sold it I had new rings and gaskets put in, otherwise it's still the same pistons (flat tops) and internals it came with some 12 possibly 13 years ago. Even the carbs have the same original parts. If you look closely at the carb pic, on the manifold between the 2nd and 3rd carb you'll see jap writing.I should take a better pic and post it so someone can tell me what it says.
  21. Gtrfan, I just tried ringing Rob who I purchased the car off in 97 to find out when they imported it, but no one home. I'll ring a bit later and post the info. Looking forward to going on cruises with the local club here in Mandurah and heading to Motorplex for Wednesday street racing
  22. The original car motor was in. Yeah gtrfan, that's what I did . Paid $2200 for it in 1997, sold it for $2000 in 2002( whole car ) and bought the engine package back 5 months ago for $2800.But after seeing the carbs pulled apart yesterday and now knowing they're still in really good condition I don't feel so bad about the 2800 as it was still a cheap source of H.power and that 6 cylinder/ weber induction sound, well I love it. It's L28 factory bored to 3.0ltr N42 head on N42 block.
  23. When I owned this motor last time, I never really new what I had. Now I do. I recently got in touch with the guy I bought it off 8 years ago, thankfully he was a friend of my wifes cousin. Anyway, he and his dad bought this as a crate motor from NISMO in Japan. Motor, carbs manifold, extractors. It has a 1/2 rally cam, it's balanced and match ported. They used to do circut racing with it at Wanneroo Raceway here in Perth. Anyway, today I took it to the mechanic who used to tune it during it's race days and I also drove it from Kalgoorlie to Perth (600k's) once a year for this guy to service it.Unfortunately he shut shop 3 years ago(after 30 years) and is now retired, but is willing to do my carbs when required. That's what he did today and I reckon he loved each of the 2 test runs. Thankfully at 63 he still has the magic in his fingers for tuning as this is still the rocket it used to be and he's got it running beautifully. Now that it's going great I'm taking it off the road to begin the body overhaul. When i post it next it"ll be white with gold mags."Let the sanding begin"
  24. I just looked in my service book and outatime is correct about the10 degrees B.T.D.C L24s motor: spark plug gap of 0.8-0.9mm Points gap 0.45-0.55
  25. How many old school skyline owners have thought about attending the 2010 Nationals in Adelaide? If I new lot's were going I'd certainly put my car on the train and head east. It"d be great to meet all these alias people and share the love of these automobiles. Your thoughts!!
