  1. Thanks for the info on attaching pics. I've just had a go at it , and we'll see what appens
  2. Nice collection of coupes. Would like to attend a bbq like that here in Perth. Are those all original cooktop tail lights or replacements? I saw an auto amoungst them. Is it the same auto that the L24's come out with, and if so how strong are these autos? I'm about to run a 260z with 2'' jag S.U's with the original auto in my coupe. Would really like some feed back.Hope the food matched the standard of the cars, thanks for the pics it's great to see other cars. If I new how I'd put up a pic or 2 but then again maybe I'll wait till I've given it a body makeover. Cheers Ricky.
  3. That's madness! some people must really hate, loath and despise the choc block tail lights. Sure enough they aint sexy, but I can think of plenty better ways to spend that sort of money. For a week or 2 you'd wanna be driving behind your car admiring them and convincing yourself they were worth the small fortune you paid for them, Perhaps they'll increase the value of the car, who knows? Still haven't heard from Laurence, perhaps he saw those lights on ebay and is flat out rumaging through wreckers yards or doing night raids on street parked C210's, LOL.
  4. I've stuffed up badly in my last few replies. I was trying to say I've figured out how to notify Laurence.Whew!
  5. Thanks very muchly f/m, getting info like this from the likes of yourself is what makes this site sooo good. I'm hooked on the idea of these lights and will pursue this avenue. Excuse my ignorance but how do I get hold of Laurence. PM is.....???? sorry is he someone on this site?
  6. I've just read the unfortunate thread''and it didn't even make it home'' some one said the mechanical L series pumps are good. Are they good enough to keep fuel up to a260z mild came wiyh 2'' jag twin S.U's. I"ve taken the L24 off and put it on the 260z but are they the same? I'm getting conflicting stories. Can some one clarify .
  7. year:1978 Model: C210 Body Type: Coupe Colour: Yellow Fade. Soon to be black I think? Don't ya just luv'm. A car before there time.
  8. If you are, do you still have your coupe in Kalgoorlie? I was the other person with the burnt orange 4 door C210, mine had a 280z and triple 45's. I just purchased a $300 coupe from a Perth car yard. It now has a 260z and 2'' jag s.u's. Any other West Aussie C210 or old Skyline lovers out there? Ricky.
  9. $550 Bonzaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Must be gold plated, $250 maybe, yes I would. Hope they don't sell for that price, that's ludicrous.
  10. Any West Aussies out there with C210's and is the guy from Kalgoorlie still reading posts. If so I'm the other guy who had the burnt orange C210 in Kalgoorlie.Mine had 280z motor and triple 45 webbers.Do you still have your coupe in Kal. I recently picked up a $300 coupe and am in the process of putting in a 260z and 2'' jag s.u's. What's the verdict with the auto's in the c210, can they handle a bit power? If Iknew how to attach photos I'd put some up. When I'm finished doing it up[not pristine] just making it tidy enough to keep the laws eyes of it, I'll then take it back and show the car yard. They couldn't believe anyone would actually want to buy it. They had $600 on it but I convinced them that it had 2 lazy cylinders and told me to take it for $300, registered, new radiator and 4 new tyres.I was happy tho I've put plenty of time ,money and elbow grease into since. I've painted the engine bay black and may continue this theme around the whole car, it won't be flash as I'm doing it myself with no prior experience :laughing-smiley-014: :laughing-smiley-014: Anyway if anyone wants to reply or no more please do. Ricky
  11. Hey Kermit, Ricky from Mandurah here. My friend has some extractors that I'd like copied. All pipes leaving the exhaust outlets are about the same length, I think they call this length tuned or something. It's to suit an L26 or 260z motor. Any chance of a roud about price? thanks Ricky.
  12. I'm looking to replace my tail lights with the cooktop/ hot plate tail lights.i'm thinkin there must be importers out there who visit wrecking yards for parts. Is this so and does anyone know which company may do this?
  13. Recently purchased a 260z motor and twin 2'' S.U's for my C210 datto skyline.Haven't got it going yet ,but was wonderin what the verdict is on these ex Jag carbbys. Appreciate any feed back. And can anyone tell me how to insert photos into these emails?
  14. Well since my last entry I bought a $300 C210 fom a car yard here in Perth. It was regoed, had new radiator, 4 new tyres and of course rust. The l24 motor was limpin, but has been replaced with a 260z and 2'' twin S.Us. Haven't fired it up yet but getting close. If I new how to add pics i would .Can anyone advise?
  15. I'd appreciate any feed back on places you found to be cheaper than others. Cheers
  16. Can anyone tell me if the diff/ axels of a 280zx be bolted into the C210 dat 78 skyline and are the autos the same type and configuration. Also what is the diff ratio of an R180 in the 2 door auto. Is the 280zx diff L.S.D
  17. Just purchased a 2 door coupe, auto. Will this stand up to punishment. Previously I've had a 2.8l worked and triple 45 webbers with the standard 5 speed. Can the auto do this. What difff ratio will be in this 78 datsun skyline [auto]
  18. It can be out of a 280zx or nissan patrol, maybe even a 280c datsun. Mods ok , just not bored out to the max.
  19. Not being smart, but I picked up a 78 skyline coupe today for $300 It aint Flash but it's a good start for my project. A guy here in Perth, goes buy the name of Kamakazi sent me an email via this site, saying he's got one in his back yard. I sent him a message saying I was keen but I've had no reply. That's a small lead perhaps worth pursuing. What do you have in mind for yours? interested to hear what motor and drive line you'll use.
  20. Thanks for confirming what i suspected, yea I know they can take a beating as I had One in a c210 datto running a performance cam and tripple webbers and again I want to go down this path. I'm thinking maybe forced induction tho, time and money will tell. Again thanks and would like to hear of any other L28 motor build ups that have generated good power.
  21. I'm wondering if these two 2.8L motors are the same as I want to build a race engine and will be looking for a L28. Please enlighten me
  22. Yea I agree, RAC might cost approx $150, but I used them once and they were very thorough. A full written report including compression test,I was buying a nissan bluebird and they picked up on the timing chain which could have been costly. The car yard erectified it and I ended up owning that car for 8 years and spent very little on it. But definately spend the money to have a car checked out, it might save you lots in the not to distant future
  23. Thanks for your enthusiasm, but shit !!those prices are a tad steep. I really want a base and create my own monster, modified 2.8 with tripple webbers. Had one some years ago and now it's time to re invent it.If there's nothing cheaper in Japan I'll just keep on searching. ''Don't spose you know some one with one?
  24. Don't suppose you've got one to sell .Does'nt need to have a motor,or maybe you know someone wanting to sell. Ricky , [email protected]
