  1. NAME: Adam AGE: 21 WORK: in a few weeks... a Qualified Electrical Fitter/Mechanic... lots of experience tig welding, machining (milling/lathe), fitting and turning. also tinker with computers, electronics + anything else electrical Best Part: lots of OT and the $$$$$$ you get from ppl for cashys! Worst Part: working for a company that is so tight that we LITERALLY stopped using good high quality electrical enclodures so we could save EXACTLY $1 on each enclosure... NO SHIT! (some ppl mite think this is an exaggeration - IT ISNT)
  2. thats fu(ked! i live in sunnybank hills so ill keep an eye out 4u... you would think that the workshops insurance would cover it... if u give them the car to work on they should give it back... or at the least compensate you for it... i mean, its not ur fault they didnt provide adequate "storage" of the car when they had it...
  3. +1 for that!
  4. that must have taken some dedication...
  5. i just got my 040 fuel pump the other day and i have a 33 gtst s2... do most ppl do this install theirselves or get a mechanic 2 do it... sounds like a major pain in the ass!
  6. it would be all thru the media for months
  7. i wouldnt mind helping with this aswell... i have some basic understanding of delphi coding (similar to c) and im an electrician... so whats so shit about the iphones bluetooth?
  8. that looks like fun
  9. failed my 1st p's test... was told... AND I QUOTE "get infront of the car beside us and turn right at the next set of lights" did exactly that... then the FU*KHEAD tells me "YOU FAIL!" cos i sped up 2 get infront of the car beside me... can anyone tell me how 2 get infront of sum1 WITHOUT accelerating? excluding winding down the window and yelling out "SLOW DOWN MANIAC!" FU*K i was not happy! lol
  10. if this kit u have is designed to be plugged into a cigarette lighter, then it SHOULD already have resistors inline with each LED in ur array... if u want to check you should hav approx 3.3VDC at all the individual LEDs the resistor values if u can check them should be approx 435ohms. a resistor with that value will give a voltage drop of 8.7V from a 12V (3.3V) supply while maintaining a 20mA current (R = V / I) 435 ohms = (12V - 3.3V (8.7V) / 0.02A) each resistor will also consume approx. 0.174watts of power
  11. i bought 1 for my gf's computer and i think their great... excellent range and never any dropouts...
  12. mines similar 2 that... but i used a BNS 250 schmersal safety sensor...
  13. there are so many ways that you could do it... just make sure that you do your research before hand ie. wiring diagrams, advice from other SAU'ers, etc and be patient... dont get excited thinking that ur gonna cut all these wires and its just gonna work. plan what you want to do, get all ur parts (switches, cable, relays, etc) then give urself a free day and do it... there is no need to rush it cuz if u do, ur heaps more likely to fu*k it up...
  14. +1 for that... idea is that only YOU know where it is... lol i have 1 installed in my car... hidden ofcourse... but instead of using a switch i used a coded magnet. sensor behind the dash (cannot see) which switches some relays which is wired into the car...
  15. i actually did something similar with my gps unit... i was sick of having cords/cables n shit all ova my dash so what i did was headed down 2 super cheap n bought a cigarette lighter extension lead for like $12. i cut it in half and joined it behind the original cigarette lighter socket. you should be able to easily identify the + and - wiring. black SHOULD always be the return part of the circuit (-). all i did was strip the feed wires to the original cigarette holder with a knife, strip the ends of the new socket i bought, twisted the + to the + and the - to the -, soldered the joins and taped them up. very simple. i will admit tho i am an electrician but seriously, u cant really stuff it up...
  16. no worries... the only way u really learn anything is 2 do it urself IMO... i still know very little in comparison to 95% of the ppl on here... believe me when i say "STEEP LEARNING CURVE!" lol
  17. spotted a few yesterday... a black 33 with SAU stickers on the side heading towards boondall & a white 33 heading up sandgate road
  18. under ur steering wheel there r 4-5 screws... undo them, move the steering wheel column down as far as it will go and unclip the cover around the ignition... its very easy... perhaps u mite c something thats loose?
  19. WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS! im still trying 2 get the drivers side parker out... lol no room with all these bloody bottles behind the globe... i dont think the japanese made these things with big australian hands in mind... my keyboard is gonna need a clean after this one... lol
  20. i have and i can honestly say that i wouldnt take my 33 anywhere else! excellent
